Hi Deb. Loved seeing your wildflowers. So very different from the wildflowers in Southern California. Personally, I love stripes so I would go with them. Maybe you could have them form a chevron on the front bodice as it is two different pieces. Short sleeves would make it a cute summer dress.
Hi Deb, lovely chatty vlog, I would probably use the strippy fabric for your dress. Love your hair, it looks great, I'm sitting out in the garden, as it's a really su nylon day here in the UK! Have a great week, whatever you're up to 🥰
Hi Deb! Love your new hairdo! IMHO, rayon spandex for the win. Two suggestions...1) given the amount of fabric you have, I would cut two layers for the bodice, at least the back bodice...to smooth any lumps and bumps...and 2) sew in some narrow elastic in the bodice/skirt seam to support the weight of the fabric. Also, because the dress has a waist seam, I don't think the weight will be as much of a problem as it would be without one. Thank you for all of your lovely travel photos. I'll make a note to visit WA in the spring for sure!
Hi, thank you for your suggestions and comments. Really helpful suggestion about the elastic at the waist. I have done that before but I actually forgot about that. Happy sewing
Your wildflower pics are lovely Deb. Your haircut is very sharp too. Nice. I made a long, sleeveless summer dress out of a bamboo jersey. It hasn’t stretched out but it was a challenge to sew. That said, the bamboo jersey or viscose jersey is lovely to wear. So I guess I’m suggesting your floral fabric for the dress. Thanks for your video. Leonie
I'd use thecotton jersey for the dress. Use the floral for a matching top and knee or midi length skirt to keep the weight down on the outfit. Plus it could be a faux dress or seperates.
Hi Deb. Like your plans for the dress Either would look good. The spandex one maybe wouldn’t drop too much since it’s not hanging from the shoulder. I made the PE Balloon top which I made to fit the size I was per the pattern but it’s too bloomin big on me!! Charity shop I’m thinking and next time make the smaller size. Love your project bag - will be on the lookout for embroidered tablecloths/tray clothes at my local charity shops. Loving the hairdo . My dad used to say there’s only a week between a bad haircut and a good one 😂😂😂. Thanks for sharing. 🙋🏼🏴
Thanks for your comments. Hairdo.. yes looks great when the hairdresser does it, but I struggle to reproduce it like that after I wash it. Oh well! I like you're Dad's saying about a bad haircut. hahaha. He's right
The rayon is absolutely beautiful, but I understand your concern of it growing. The pink stripe will look nice as well. I think I agree with your thought on making a smaller size maybe on the be mine balloon sleeve top. It almost looks like the shoulders are a little bigger than what you need as well. My neckline on mine really stretched out and I had to take a pleat in the center so I can still wear it. Thank you for sharing the wildflower tour photos! They are beautiful! I look forward to seeing your Olympia! Your hair looks gorgeous. Take care!
Thanks for your comments. I have since found out that the Be Mine Balloon Sleeve top is meant to fall off the shoulders a little. Also there are alot of makers saying the neckline is too big. I will be sticking to the smaller neckline in the future and still want to check out the sizing. It is meant to be blousy though - happy sewing
@@sewingseamswithdeb thank you for the info on the shoulders. That makes sense then. I think part of my problem was that I didn’t stay stitch as soon as I cut the fabric. I moved it to my sewing table and then it set there longer. I guess since others are having that problem too, I will also look at the smaller neckline. I do like the top though, especially the sleeves.
I like them both, but the 2nd one I would use for the dress. Keep the stripes for a project that you can play with the stripes. The top you are wearing did you change sleeve end. ( end near the wrist)
The top I am wearing, the Be Mine Balloon Sleeve top , and I didnt change the sleeve cuff or length at all. The pattern is 'out of the box' with no changes.
Love your dress Deb. And the bag of doilies. ♥️♥️
Thanks, the bag using doilies is such a great use of doilies that arent being used. Another way to get more wear out of them I guess. Have a great day

Thanks so much for you comments. And what a great suggestion of how to use the stripes. I'll have to check to see if I have enough fabric for that.
Love the bag. Your hair looks great too 😊
Thanks Carol

Hello hello… Deb , I think I’d go with the stripe fabric….just love a stripe! Xxxx
Thanks for your suggestion
I like them both but I agree the rayon spandex can grow especially for a dress this is a dilemma I like the haircut have a great week 😊😊
Thanks for your comments. The hair is short, which is taking a bit to get used to!

I think the floral sets off your coloring. The stipe would make a cute tee. Love the wildflowers :)
