Katee, I don't know if you recorded this before or after the Cincinnati Comic Expo, but the discussion about aging and career reflections fit right in with my meeting with you on Sunday. I was the one who said you elevate anything project you are a part of, and you should be cast in everything and anything. We need more quality actors like you, especially in TV genre shows, and I expressed how thankful I was to you for doing so throughout your career. I hate that there is a stigma about women and aging in Hollywood. If you are good, you are good, and there shouldn't be an artificial limit. You are fantastic in every role you take and it is a treat to watch you work whenever you are part of a show. As I said at the end, if I ever got a project off the ground, you would be my first call!

What another awesome episode. One of my pet peeves with the entertainment industry is the lack of variety of roles for women of 'a certain age'. I have just turned 53 and I hate that I can't see 'myself' in a variety of roles on screen. We are not all the same - I want to see women of all ages in a variety of roles and not stereotyped or limited. I love the conversations you have Katee - I will continue to tune in every Tuesday and always stay for the Hindsight :)

Such a great episode, Rebecca is hilarious. Loved the real conversation about parenthood and tiny humans that death stare you because you didn't cut the sandwich in even enough squares. So funny and unexpected.

I love Rebecca, and I met both her and Lana Parrilla at DragonCon in Atlanta when she was very pregnant. She was incredibly gracious, funny, and beautiful. And I met you, Katee, at a fan con in Nashville. Finding a podcast with the two of you is heaven! Thank you so much for having Rebecca on your show. Love you both.

How many people remember Rebecca Mader was in Devil Wears Prada? Her best line, "They're so different!" She has great comic timing!

Katee, I really enjoyed the mum talk. Your kids and Rebecca's kids are so lucky to have actress mums to entertain them. Rebecca is so much fun and down to earth. By the way, I also memorise exit signs 👍. And at my age of 57, I am pivoting career wise into unknown waters, scary but exciting. I didn't know you have a new baby boy, late congrats 🤗

My Callum Keith Rennie love came from him playing Kowalski in Due South. I recognized him in that show from seeing him briefly on Forever Knight playing a bad guy.😂 I'm sure I also recognized him from the original La Femme Nikita. Once you see an actor who's in a lot of things, you start to remember them. Since Due South it seems like I see him everywhere.
I don't want to be negative (you can be positive and still say a thing), but not everyone can easily manifest the way Rebecca does. There are many reasons; especially if you've encountered a lot of trauma in your life. Don't feel bad if you are one of those people who's done several "Law of Attraction" modalities and come up empty. Yes, it helps to try to be positive as often as possible. It can also help if you learn to deal with life-long trauma so you start on an even playing field. Of the people I know, those born under Earth signs or have Earth (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) ascendants seem to have an easier time of getting the Law of Attraction to work for them. Seeing each day as a new opportunity can also help.

In the Hindsight part of this episode, the strategy you describe regarding scoping out the exits in a public place is in one of Clint Emerson's books....100 Deadly Skills, I think.

First became aware of Rebecca Mader from Justice with Victor Garber and Eamonn Walker which lasted around 13 episodes. Rebecca is my all-time favourite name for a girl which probably comes from my having read Ivanhoe at an impressionable age. The whole time you two were banging on about Hawaii, all I could think of was the old John Prine song "Let's Talk Dirty In Hawaiian". Give it a listen on TH-cam for a good laugh. Two classic roles I could see Rebecca doing are Margo Channing and Lina Lamont -- the latter presuming she can come up with an appropriately annoying voice. Josh Holloway will star in a period piece crime thriller series next year. Good luck with all the travelling.

Great talk, Katee, thanks. Made me forget about horrors for a little. What you said about the news is somewhat true, but e.g. here in Ukraine news saves lives, actually, literary. As our Ukrainian "telethon" (that got launched here with putin's invasion) informs about air raids. And that's the other side of it. In here it's honestly hard not to envy those who don't have to watch the darn news.

So Katee I don't feel that you will ever be a Non Marketable Actor. The reason being that you are not nor have you ever been a Disney Princess. You are able to be a female lead in every way so that gives you more way to carry a part. In Battlestar you basically had a mans role for that original show. Do you think that Grace Park could have played in that space. She is a very good Actress but in that way. I do not think I am very good at explaining what I have in my head, but I hope you can kind of see what I am saying. It is easy to doll up it is much different to be something that is not the norm. Beside you can always become the old Veteran chewing on a stogie.
