    Okay. First, complains about the new album shouldn't be because they don't scream anymore. If you'd ever heard Danny live you can clearly notice he's not into screaming anymore, even though he can pull some off. No. The real complain (and everybody should stop taking it as "hate", real hate can be noticed and ignored) is that the new album doesn't sound like AA at all. There's no essence, there's no spirit, in my opinion. It sounds like something any rock band could have written in a month. You don't need to completely change your essence in other to evolve. Look at Dance Gavin Dance for example. They pulled out one of their most successful records last month... In the middle of a pandemic! And it sold like bread! Why? Because they are true to their style and still are able to deliver fresh, well made and enjoyable music. In other words, this last album makes me think AA still haven't found their unique style. Experimenting is good, but I don't think this album can be considered experimental. Anyway, I don't really liked the new record, have listened to it a couple times and it's kinda getting better. Yet, I wouldn't say it's the best album AA has done. Just my opinion about all this UwU.

    At one point AA were my favourite band. I loved R&R and FDtD. The Black was awesome, and the self titled was a bit underwhelming... but still enjoyable. This new album just doesn't really click with me, it's not because of a lack of screaming, but I just feel that they played it too safe with this album. Some of the core aspects of this album is a bit hollow and lacks some spine from their previous records... It just doesn't have that Asking Alexandria spirit.... maybe it'll age well, maybe not. But i think their next record needs to step up their song writting & musical structure.

    I already saw this band going to this type of genre when they released From death to destiny and then Danny left they wrote a decent album better than the previous album they were back but the material totally shifted after Danny came back again but worse... Danny's solos are better but kinda sounds bad when it is mixed with AA. it is just me but I really don't like the new album no matter what people say whether it is good or not... I'd like to stick with my opinion...but the constant repeated comments on "We can't write the same album twice" by Ben is kinda sounds bad because if Denis were to be their current vocalist they would write the same so he should just say we wrote what was best for us that's it...

    So I'm pretty new to AA's music (i've heard just a few songs from before LAHOF) but I REALLY like this new album! I'm not the biggest fan of screaming and I think that may have been the reason I didn't catch on to their music before. I mean I don't hate it, I don't mind it if it's good but... yeah, i probably should listen to more of their old stuff before I speak here.
    It seems like alot of people really liked the screaming but I think AA created a really good record anyway. Bands and their sound must change! Otherwise you get stuck in a specific sound and then, after some time, people will complain that all the music "sounds the same" anyway. And as musicians you'll probably get sick of writing the same songs/albums over and over again. Songwriting is being creative and if you set up these "frames" it will block of some of the creativeness. Great things often happens when you get out of "the box".

      I've been listening since the beginning, with that said, I think it's important for new listeners, such as yourself, to go back and listen. Even if you're not a fan of the screaming, I think it's important to know where they started and where they came from, to really appreciate where they are now.

    • @hugorosales1346
      @hugorosales1346 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you're opinion is valid. Screaming is not for everyone, but honestly you can't see the full panorama of what this album feels like to olds fans if you don't know their old stuff. Moreover, bands don't need to COMPLETELY change their essence in order to deliver fresh and unique music. Just look at Dance Gavin Dance. Those guys are true to their style and still deliver great records. They are the only band I know that has no bad albums, in my opinion. I think AA could have done something like that if they'd tried harder.

    Does Ben really expect us to believe the last heavy song he wrote was "Run Free"? Did he forget that he wrote an entire metalcore album with Denis? That was way after he wrote Run Free. This is the BS I'm talking about. Ben seems like he is saying whatever to make it seem like Asking Alexandria is in a great place. I loved Asking Alexandria's past music (the self-titled album was slightly underwhelming but listenable) but this new album is complete shit. I literally cant even listen to it.

      I love the band and Ben, but if you watch enough interviews you’ll find that Ben either pretends certain things didn’t happen or he goes back on something he’s previously said, he’s hypocritical. But not acknowledging “The Black” album just to me seems like a pissy little teenager being salty towards Denis for leaving so he pretends he doesn’t exist. If Denis didn’t ghost them, or whatever is really what happened, he would be in AA and they’d be making metal core music. He’s catering to Danny because he knows if they went with a 3rd singer shit would go down hill. Also, does anyone remember when Danny was allegedly suing AA for using his voice on backing vocals during Denis’s tenure?

      Greyson Hawley They’re definitely holding back. You can be in a better place mentally and still write heavier songs 😂 When Danny left all Ben said was he just wants to write heavier stuff and that they all wanted it. I wonder if Denis could ever mend the bridge and they could consider bringing him back. This is not about it being metal it's about the quality, it's pretty bad now. Asking Alexandria used to produce much higher quality songs and now it's going on a down low. This album will mostly appeal to people that have just discovered Asking Alexandria and don't know what they sounded like, this is not evolution. If you really enjoyed the previous albums you do get disappointed by this. A lot of bands now are heading in a more pop music direction and I was hoping Asking Alexandria wasn't going to disappoint as well. I think I would've been more ok with this if there were more bands like this that are still going well. A lot of bands are getting worse and less good bands are appearing with this kind of music. I still hope but I'm not expecting miracles from Asking Alexandria, I'm just hoping for more bands to create music like what they had (not necessarily about dark stuff like drugs dude, I don't always need screaming).
