Great reaction Dame! Everyone assumes the Levites are the back-up singers but they’re actually the band. The singers are called ‘The Standard’ and you’re right, they are awesome and blend so beautifully with our Stan’s voice. They crossover to Te Reo Māori, which is the language of the indigenous people (Māori) and also an official language of New Zealand. I wish Stan was more recognised internationally because he’s phenomenal and could put a lot of so called singers to shame, but he wants to do his own thing and not what the studios tell him to do. Props for being true to himself 😊

Stans song is from Crowded House. Another group from New Zealand. They are in their 70's now.

You should watch his song Thank You - it was to his mama... and the story of his cancer is AMAZING... he lost so many of his family. But there was a video about his story.

Fire cover. The original that Crowded House made famous in the 80s is also 🔥🔥🔥. Miley Cyrus and Arianna also did a live cover of this which is insane

Both mother (April) and son (Stan) share the rare cancer-causing CDH1 mutation which has already been responsible for the death of at least 25 of their family members. Both had their cancer removed - which, for Stan meant having his whole stomach taken out - and both are now cancer-free. Checkout some of his originals with the Levites, - Bigger & TUA (Maori version), New Light, Inside Out or his other collabs Choose ft Hamo Dell, Don't Worry Baby ft Celina Sharma, Aoteaoa, Come Back Hoe (Live) Tennessee Whiskey ft Parson James etc

Thanks for another dope reaction video ❤i watched a voice teacher who did a first-time reaction video on stan walker, and it was pretty informative how he mentioned that Stan was using his thoracic and diaphragmatic region to breathe a lot throughout the song. I just love his soulfulness. The back up singers and band just add that extra icing on the cake when it comes to creating Great music together.

Don’t dream it’s over was a 1986 hit by Crowded House. It was an Australasian band but the lead songwriter and singer was a kiwi. This song is a NZ classic so Stans rendition really brings it home for us. Tēnā koe Stan. You rock.

I saw Stan when he was 18 or 19 years old and appeared on Australia Idol. You can find some videos on TH-cam but many are degraded from time. His gift was apparent then but he was so very shy and giggly. His audition song was John Legend's Ordinary People. If you have the time, you should check those out to just see his growth in his confidence and performance. He even was a judge at on New Zealand X-Factor.

Also on the stomach thing, their is a whole documentary on it, also goes into the life he had as a kids, victim of physical and sexual abuse 🥺🥺 amazing human he is.

Has nothing to do with his stomach. His voice was magical way before he had it removed. If anything, it sounds more powerful after the surgery, but he's been touching souls well before that.

Kia ora from the hills of West Virginia. Te Reo Maori is the language. I e been attempting to learn it recently and my sincerest apologies to any native speakers of the language if I have misspelled anything in my ignorance. It is a rather difficult language to learn, especially when you have no one to speak it to. Anyways, you should look into the culture of the Maori, the Haka would be a decent place to start. But
remember “he tangata, he tangata, he tangata”. The most important thing to know in the world…(It is the people, it is the people, it is the people “.
    Aroha to all people.

Be really great if DAME managed to actually nod his head in rhythm with the music, instead of looking like something you put in the back of a car window!
