But if there was a war we would stand together as cousins as they did in WW 2 on the other side of the world. As others have said, Stan sings the middle section in te reo māori. He's a beautiful ambassador for his culture & language. Crowded House were a mix of Aussies and Kiwis (New Zealanders), but Neil Finn is a Kiwi. I think the personal trials that Stan has come through have brought a new dimension to him as an artist. He was always incredibly talented, but he's now maturing into a phenomenally soulful singer, whose driven to leave something special in the world with using his gifts. and his technique is just out of this world now. You MUST go back and watch some of his breakout Australian Idol performances and compare to how he sounds now - massive talent even as a kid, but so so raw. His journey is incredible - and far from over. Thanks to reactors like yourself, I think he's on the cusp of hitting a new level internationally...which is no more than he deserves.

I love how they switched to singing in Maori. For years our language was oppressed. My mother and her sisters never fully learnt Maori because their generation were scolded by white teachers and society. Now today, we celebrate our very first Official Maori New Year here in New Zealand. #Matariki
