Pre-trip inspection is required each and every time the bus is driven and this is what takes place to a T!!! Great video showing exactly how this process is done. Thanks for sharing!!! I think all school districts across the country must require strobe lights to be on whenever the bus is in motion rain or shine it's another safety feature to alert drivers of the school bus at all times, not only in inclement weather.
I can still smell the school bus smell lol. At my district, we had Blue birds and Internationals (BBs were the newcomers, our internationals were the dying out fleet). My regular bus was a smooth running blue bird, I always wished something would happen to it so I could take the old cabover international, engine sat right next to you, it was loud, rough idle, and slow as all get but she had character lol.
Heh I have not driven any of the flat-nose transit-style buses yet myself. Closest I've come was considering jobs at a district with a rather eclectic fleet that included some Blue Bird All-Americans, and at the Rutgers University "Science Bus" program that uses customized All-Americans.
I hope everything goes well with the people who ride the bus and I hope the bus is in proper condition and working smoothly and safe travels for the driver and passengers
I forget which video you did woth the omnibus plates but this is the answer to why some school buses have those plates. In New Jersey, school buses with "omnibus" plates are typically used for purposes other than transporting students to and from school. These buses may be used for activities such as field trips, athletic events, or other non-school-related group transportation. The use of omnibus plates allows these buses to operate under different regulations and requirements compared to regular school buses.

I prefer the IC for most things. C2 has better transmission programming and I like how you don't have to be at a complete standstill to command the door open. They also ride better but the IC handling is more stable and they are more maneuverable.
@@yitznewton I have always liked the IC bus. But now they are switching to battery bus which is fine but the shape of them I don't like. I think they should stick with the look of an ic bus but have it be battery operated. Not a question to ask anyone here as we don’t control your bus drivers or the time, etc. However if I were to guess I’d say they might be losing track of time. Theres always different situations though
The most frequent reason in our location, in my experience, is that we can't keep enough drivers on staff to cover all the routes properly, so we need to bundle multiple routes with one driver. There's a nationwide school bus driver shortage, unfortunately.
It records inspections (pre-trip, post-trip, check for sleeping children) and also has a route navigation app, which in my personal opinion is not worth it.
No, the first time I drove one of these I was frantically looking for the blown bulb. But we have several "omnibus" C2's which click fast like this, while the lights function normally
Pros of wand: still works with gloves, easier to log in. Pros of tablet: much easier to write up problems, built-in clock, and down the line we'll get navigation
I don't know. It freaked me out the first time I drove one of these. The signals work correctly on the outside, but for some reason the dashboard indicator and clicker are fast. The 4-way/hazard dashboard indicator and clicker function normally.

extremely disagreed
that will give drivers with medical problems issues that's why they are banned in most districts mine and parts Washington specifically
it's really common sense when you see red flashing lights and a bright yellow bus it's not hard to see.
