    The motor underneath lets off a slight smell and it's a little loud th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCKuMxLnvr6fJd_M4SE-n7trcGj3zEUHq but considering it's size and how hard it works to do the job, it's sort of expected. I assume the smell will go away over time. Overall, I love this cute little blender. The extra cups and lids are great too!

    I use the tall blender top for my ninja at home...I promise that the test is still valid. It comes out gritty every time. But, I believe that the darkness that came out of the blendtec was no just due to the greens being blended to a finer consistency, but also because more of the ingredients were oxidized.

    That short carafe you used for the Ninja is not meant for smoothies. Not a very accurate comparison.

      +The Kids in Africa the shorter Ninja bowl is actually a Food Processor, NOT a blender. The taller container is the blender. This is made very clear in the instructions.

    We had the Vitamix for 28 years it finally bit the dust. ( the motor went out) My husband purchased the bledtec for mothers day. I love the consistency and the fact that it fits under the cabinets. So far so good!

    Blender vs food processor, is more accurate. Why didn't you use the Ninja blender instead of the food processor? You own it. It was right there on your countertop.

    I have the ninja professional 1100 and put spinach in my protein shake every day. It blends it so fine I can't even see it. I've never tried Kale, but with baby spinach it works wonders. I wanted a Vitamix or blendtec, because I think they are indeed slightly better, but for the money I don't think you can go wrong with the ninja. Also, I'm pretty sure that Kale stalk was tucked under the lid and pinned - you can see it stuck there when it's blending, you have to make sure you don't pin anything under the rubber suction at the top of the blender. I've had that happen before. Most videos seem to be very "anti-ninja" on here to be honest tho.

      Freeze your spinach & it blends much better!

      True, sorry to hear that. I have no affiliation. I use the free leaves frozen if that helps. Blends them to almost undetectable, you can still see tiny green dots if you look closely.

    If there is an issue with blending the greens, blend your liquids and greens first, it will literally become a green liquid (no chunks, smooth it works on my old 450 watt blender) then add your fruits etc. You'll NEVER know the greens are there ;) I also read that the blades in the ninja are higher (I actually just bought one but haven't taken it out of the box yet lol!) But many reviews of the Ninja stated that the single serve jars blend beautifully and smooth. It's the best for adding greens!

  • @GeckoHiker
    @GeckoHiker 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have the Ninja Kitchen System 1200 and have no problems blending greens into a very smooth drink, but I use the large pitcher. I rarely use ice, and then it's only added at the end of all other blending. The Ninja is great for making nut butters, and so many other things, that I have completely put off the notion of getting a Vitamix or any other more "professional" type of appliance.

  • @SallyBanango
    @SallyBanango 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I totally agree with this. I have the Ninja, and while it is good for my frozen fruit smoothies, adding veggies never works out well. At work, I use a Blendtec and it is amazing and there is such a difference in consistency. It's much more smooth and frothy and easier to digest. I am torn between Blendtec and Vitamix.

    So true. I had a ninja that was given to me and started making smoothies with it. It was fine when I did mainly all fruit smoothies, but when I started adding kale and spinach, I was literally chewing it to get it down. I got a vitamix about a month ago and absolutely LOVE it. I wouldn't trade it for anything else! I absolutely cannot stand chunks in anything I consume and I get a perfect smoothie every time with it

I am am sometimes left with big chunks of frozen berries, and it doesn't grind all of the flax and hemp seeds.I was actually thinking about getting the Ninja. What I found was the Ninja Blades are the problem. They cut everything. Yeah, it's great that they can cut the stuff at the top and bottom (that's what sold me on it), but in reality, you don't want "cutting" When you are blending. Hit a flying kiwi with a bat, and you get kiwi mush. Slice a flying kiwi with a sword, and you get two smaller pieces of kiwi. You would not make mash potatoes by cutting the potato smaller and smaller with a knife. I found that almost everything I put in the Ninja has a kuskus texture. :(

  • @venicestu
    @venicestu 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Why didn't you use the larger container in this "fair" comparison. Do you get paid by Blendtec??

  • @kimvette1
    @kimvette1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The Ninja was handicapped by the stalk of kale having been wedged between the lid and the pitcher. However I would like to note that others have that you compared the food processor bowl (not designed to blend!) to the Blendtec so it is a faulty comparison to begin with as you are using a completely different tool that blends much less smoothly because it is designed to chop and mix not blend. I am drinking a smoothie I made with my BL682 and it blended very uniformly and smoothly.
    Given that she had to have seen this gaff in post I am thinking it is intentional.

    I bought a Ninja Master Prep from Amazon a few days ago for $35 and it makes an excellent green smoothie. Blended everything up in no time and no clumps at all. And also has another attachment with blades that chop, mince, grind, etc. Definitely was worth the $35.

    I have the original the single serve and the kitchen system Ninja Yes I own 3. You need to put your greens in first with a tad bit of water, blend it and then add frozen fruit or fresh fruit and ice. You will Not have any pieces in your drink at all and it will be blended better then a Blendtec or a Vitamix. Another great one is the Nutri bullet. This does wonderful with greens.

    • @TheDietGod
      @TheDietGod 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Blended better than a Vitamix or Blendtec? Are you fucking serious?? Frozen fruits (especially bananas) are the perfect way to "cover up the Ninja's FUCK UPS" or any cheap blender for that matter.
      In other words if you don't have frozen fruits/thawed fruits you will have to put up with chopped salad smoothie! With the money you spent on those 3 piece of shit Ninjas you could have easily bought a Vitamix or Blendtec and had the 7-10 year warranty with professional commercial performance. Wow don't you feel like a dumb ass!
      And don't get me started on the new Ninja Cancer toxic Lead poisoning Ultima, it says so on the Ninja box!

    I have gone through numerous blenders over the last couple of years. (I make a smoothie for breakfast every single morning.) I recently bought a Blendtec and just can't believe the difference. I wish I had bought it years ago; it would have saved me a LOT of money in the long-run.

      +Willistead Park Except the jars have a hard time holding up to the motor of the blender. I have been using my blendtec for less than 5 years and am starting on my 3rd Wildside Jar. My first one lasted about 18 mos, then started leaking. My second one about 2 years, then ceased up. I use my blender once a week, occasionally twice. And mostly for smoothies. Being that my blender is still under warrenty, the jars were replaced for free. Blendtecs customer service has been great. This jar looks better made than my first two. We will see. If not, when my warranty runs out, I probably won't keep using it. To buy replacement jars, right now is 127.00. With a 3 year warranty. If the jars cannot last longer, I consider the upkeep of buying replacement jars every 2 or 3 years to be too expensive. I agree that my Blendtec makes far better smoothies than my ninja. My ninja is the big, tall pitcher with the 3 blades all along the shaft. Actually, my old kitchenaid blender with the glass pitcher, made better smoothies than my Ninja. Keeping my fingers crossed that Blendtec can improve their jars to last much longer, because I really like my Blendtec, it does a wonderful job and I love the design of the Wildside jar. It is wide and so much easier to clean than my previous blender jars.

    Melissa, no joke I have the same exact Ninja and I am on the market for a Blentec because it was like drinking gravel when I made kale smoothies, so many chunks. I would love a Blendtec, but it wasn't in our budget. After doing some research online, I opted for the Nutribullet & I'm really happy with it. It pulverizes spinach, kale, ice, etc. The only drawback is that it's small and I can only do one smoothie at a time, but it's not that big of a deal since cleanup is a cinch.

    Never had any problems blending with the Ninja. The bowl she was using in the video is for "Food Processing" only. The smaller bowl has a different blade and a great reduction built into its base, so the blade spins much slower than normal.
    Using the proper attachment, there would have been much better results.

    LOVE my Blendtec!!! If you go thru their site, you can get a refurb and save some $$$. That's what I did, and never had any trouble with it and it honestly looked brand new. I've even used it to make chicken thigh smoothies for the cats. (Made boneless, skinless thighs in the slow cooker and tossed them in the blender, a couple at a time with the cooking liquid) The cats were thrilled with their treat!

    Few points: she seems to be comparing the wrong jars! The Ninja jar she uses is actually for dough. For a fair comparison with the blendtec, she has to use the blending jar. Also, if she just "opened it an hour ago" (the Ninja) she has very little experience and knowledge. Plus, her eloquent description of the mechanics of the blendtec makes me suspicious that she's connected with the company is some way. Namaste.

    People always seem to think that more cost is better. This is why we stay in trouble financially. I've used the Ninja for years and with the proper set up its just as good as the 300 - 600 dollar blenders. Good House keeping rated the Ninja a very good A- the Blendtec got an A+. Look it up, as many have said your using the wrong parts... Both are very nice, better things to spend 300 on than a blender.

      Croozer I understand that but in hind sight who cares if it doesn't; its 400.00to 500.00 dollars cheaper and does what a Blender should do. I don't care if my Blender can destroy a cellphone. A decent price point trounces the bell and whistles added to those expensive one. Call me frugal...

      Ive had my Ninja for about 4 years no. I alongside my clients use it everyday before and after training session. In 4 years of usage I haven't had one single issue. I paid 80.00 for it because was on sale. So if it break and I have to buy another that'll last another 4 years then its well worth it. 180.00 is still better than 300.00 to 500.00.

    Hey there. Been using a vitamix for 2+ yrs. still use it daily. Took weeks to decide between blendtec and VM but VM felt more solid, and I like manual controls. Anyhoo, try adding some citrus. A lemon, lime, or grapefruit really help mask the greens, plus vitamin C yo. Also banana,(frozen) gives a nice creamy, full flavor. Peel and freeze a bunch or 2 at a time. Store in ziplock. Freeze when not quite ripe.

    Comparing oranges to bananas and still, using the worng acessory on the Ninja. You should use either the bigger recipient or the small single portion cup. I just got a Ninja and been really happy with the results, but you got to do the right set up to get the best results. Your test is absolutely biased towards a 3 times more expensive blender, absolutely unfair comparison.

    Excellent review. I went out and got a Blentech from Sam's Club for $359. We're very please with it so far. I also want to add that I immediately disqualified the Ninja blender solely based on that it is made in China and the it contains lead! Yes, lead! The box itself has warnings on it. As far as I know, lead is not an ingredient in any juicing recipes I've come across. I am puzzled that a product like this can be sold here in the US specially since it processes food!

    The Blendtec is a great blender. I got the Blendtec classic 570 at Costco for 250$.
    Its usually 300, but they had a 50 dollar sale.
    The Blendtec blends fruits and ice cubes nicely with no chunks.
    Also you don't have to put alot of water in the blendtec to blend the fruits and ice cubes.
    Before i had the Blendtec I had this Homcom 1800W Commercial Blender. The Homcom got good reviews on Amazon. The Homcom is like 135$ The problem with the Homcom, I had to put so much water in the blender to blend the fruits and ice cubes. By the time the smoothie was done, using all the water in the Homcom blender had diluted the taste.

    I have no problems with my ninja. It blends kale and spinach, etc. just fine. I appreciate the time taken for the comparison. However, I do feel this was a relatively biased review, in that of course the Blendtec is going to do a better job than the ninja! Its got quite a bit more wattage and is about twice the cost. Regardless, I think they're both really great blenders. My ninja blends kale, etc. just fine and in no time without any gritty bits/ leftovers. I'm not sure why yours has so many problems! Good video though.

My advice, don't waste your money on this plastic piece of shit and buy either the blendtech or vitamix which will not mess you around unlike the ninja will

    I'd love to know how the blendtec compares to the vitamix. I have been considering all three of these and now that I can safely figure the ninja is out I need to see those two go head to head.

    I like the capacity of the Blendtec. My wife bought a blender from some liquidation store for $20...the thing is great! great video :)

    How durable is the Ninja? Can it blend everything the Bledtec can? Will it last as long?j

    $100 Ninja, using the wrong attachment, vs $400 Blendtec, with the right attachment.....
    Hmmmmm

    On the Ninja, you needed to use the larger 72oz container!

    You used the wrong attachment for the ninja that one is supposed to in place of a food processor. Also when putting greens in you are supposed to put them in first.

    I'm sorry but my grandparents have a ninja with 1500 watts and they have used spinach to make smoothies and the drinks are consistent with no chunks of food

    I'm SO glad I'm not the only one who was basically drinking a half-blended SALAD in my Ninja. Whatever genius at Ninja thought it was a good idea to put circular blades into SQUARE cups is a moron. lol I've also tried chopping vegetables in my small Ninja cup (I have this exact same system here) and it basically spit everything into the edges of the square cup, only to blend what was immediately in range of the blades. Terrible. Definitely between a BlendTec and Vitamix. Thank you!! :)

    can you please re do this but using the correct ninja attachment, the tall one that is meant for smoothies, the one you used is more for dough and cake and processing food

  • @digfasterr
    @digfasterr 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    i think yo be fair to the ninja you really shouldve blended the greens and liquid in first and then added the other stuff. You can make a decent green smoothie in just about anything if you have your technique down straight. Given that, ofcourse the blendtec is a beautiful beast.

  • @jcassell111
    @jcassell111 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Your comparison was terrible. You used the dough maker pitcher and blades on the ninja instead of the blender pitcher and blades. If your going to make a comparison video, make sure you are comparing apples to apples and not apples to oranges! Try again with the correct parts next time and i believe you will have totally different results.

    Instead of pouring the unblended smoothie into the sink couldn't you have poured it into the Blendtec and turned it on so that it blended to the consistency of the other one?

  • @northunhawk

    I have found that nothing blends well in the shorter ninja container compared to the taller one (which then has a double blade whipping it up). Would love to see the blendtec compared to the tall ninja container! Please, please!!!

    after a while those Ninja Blades will wear out and replacing it probably would cost $20+ after the warranty is over

    Is there still some separation when the drink sits for a few minutes when you use the blendtec?

  • @naliaacevedo2500

    I appreciate you making the video, and i respect your opinion for the blender you chose. Its already been said, but for the Ninja using the bigger pitcher is better for smoothies. I have the Ninja and i love it, and smoothies come out good. I will say this though the Blendtec is very impressive.

  • @CybernizeOPS

    You do realize that the small ninja container is a food processor, not a blender, right? It would have been better to compare the tall container (the blender), to compare apples with apples.
