  • I thought it would be fun to put these two powerful blenders in a side-by-side comparison and run them through a few tests. They are both great blenders and I would be happy having either one of these in my home... but which one is the best? Let me know your thoughts and comments down below. Which blender do you have?

I used an immersion blender recently and my neighbor asked me about what's the noise. I'm planning to buy Vitamix, I can't imagine how they will react given that it is much much much louder than a simple not loud hand immersion blender.

Also my wife convinced me to try a blendtec after growing up with a Vitamix. I took the blendtec back the same day. The true test of the best blender is to throw in a chunk of ginger. The Vitamix is the only one that doesn't leave stringy pieces of ginger.

I use a Vitamix at work, but I have a Blendtec at home. I think they both blend equally well. I like the shape of the Blendtec jar better, it makes it easier to scrape out the last bit of food from the bottom, and cleaning them is easier as well. A tamper would be a good addition, but I usually don’t need it

In fairness, it is possible to make a smooth frozen dessert in a Blendtec. It's just not as easy. You need a very specific ratio of ingredients in smaller pieces. With the Vitamix, none of that matters because you can literally force everything into the blade and not worry about air pockets forming.

I’ve had a Blendtec for 7 years and it’s made everything perfectly. It doesn’t need a tamper because it has many cycles that do those tasks. You use pulse instead of tamper to get the same result. I got the impression you were not familiar with those Blendtec features and tried to use in the same way as a Vitamix. Cleanup is also important and Blendtec is super fast and easy.

Hey Derek. I’ve been watching your videos for a long time and I really look forward to everything you put out. You were a big inspiration on me to start eating healthier (btw I’ve been vegan for 2.5 years). So anyways... my father recently passed away and I’m only 16 years old, like you were when you lost your dad (my dad was vegan too). And although I believe that genetics doesn’t play a big role in longevity, my father died from a sudden cardiac arrest which can happen to younger people, affects males, and was something that all his uncles had. He went vegan because he wanted to join my sister and I in our new lifestyle and wanted to be healthy. After becoming vegan his blood tests were phenomenal, and his cholesterol went down 45 points, along with taking multi vitamin and omega 3 supplements. He was in great shape and before he died recently had run 1.5 miles in under 9 minutes after not running at all, and at 71 years old. This has been really hard for my family but I always went back to you as a source of positivity. If there is something you could say or share, it would mean a lot. Thanks.

Well, Waring and Vitamix have had digital blenders in the food industry for well over 20 years, and it seems to work fine. I don't worry about my 750 Pro, but on the other hand, I never use any of the presets. A blender needs a precise dial, and that's it. If I was okay with the noise in my home, there would be a Vita-Prep 3 rather than a 750, but it's stupid loud for home use.

Blendtec is just as expensive if not more and it's no way near as good as Vitamix, sorry but it's true, and for that price point, if it needs something to push the product down they should design it and put one specifically for that blender in with your blender purchase. Hi Derek & Crystal! loved this video!
For everyone using a not so high tech blender and wanting to make a nice cream/smoothie bowl here‘s a trick for you: boil your water or use hot water from the tab and put it in first, then add your frozen fruit/veggies. It makes a huge difference and works almost everytime for my blender 😊 one day I’ll invest in a vitamix too but as long as I’m a student I just can’t afford it so my little hack saves my life 😅

I think the real test is if they can blend a mix of oats, dates, and almonds like you would if you were making a cake crust. I have a 19-year-old Vitamix that is still going strong, but definitely overheats and shuts down when I'm making that gnarly date paste. She still gets the job done though, god bless 'er.

I own a Blendtec for 5 years now and i have a gym so i use it all the time, everyday. Not even once did it jam and did something like you did in the second test. by doing so, you just did a bad advertizing for a blender that is, to me, one of the best thing i have ever purchase in my whole life, and i am not even kidding about it. the only thing i can add to that is that, i plan to always have a Blendtec on my kitchen counter for the rest of my life. period.

Years ago when I was buying a blender I bought the Blendtec. After using it for a while it became clear it had many limitations. Yes you can make but butter but it take a long time and a lot of starting, stopping and scraping the sides etc. pesto is about the limit of the Blendtec and things like the same nicecream forget about it unless you like spending time stuffing around. Anything that is solid or sticky isn’t for the Blendtec. If or should I say when I buy a new blender, it will be a Vitamix.

I love my $39 Oster blender that holds 6 cups and has a heavy glass jar. A tamper is available for about $10. I've never tried to pulverize raw kale, but I have used it to pulverize dried chili peppers to make Mexican chile roja. Parts are available on Amazon. Since it is only $39, I can use the rest of the money for a two-week camping trip on the beach in California!

Much higher caliber-no question. I borrowed one before spending the $ to be absolutely sure it was worth it. No way I could go back to the cheap quality blenders ever again.
