I've been researching how to do this all morning, and this is the most coherent and up-to-date video I could find. You give clear instructions and distinguish the supplies that are needed. This video is so helpful and I look forward giving this a try
i have done it!!!!! finally it showed me the xell reloaded on screen, got the cpu key and then did everything after. even after burning that point, i did it. tnx a lot bro. sry for the annoying comments, i though i broke the console or something. tnx!!
This is such an amazing video. Serendipitously it actually gave a detailed experience on what could go wrong while working hands-on with your console. And things did go wrong. BUT addressing & tackling those issues made this video truly a worthwhile watch! Thanks a ton mate!
I made a corona 4GB V2 for £23 lol, the console with all controllers and cables for £20 and the ace v3 for £3, I made my own sd tool but I will be buying one soon weekend modder, great work mate thanks for the videos
I think you covered everything in such great details.. hats off for an amazing tutorial amidst the plethora of gibberish out there on internet... Thanks a ton..
I have the same console, 4gb nand. It was working fine and one day it doesnt want to start. The ace v3 chip doesnt want to show any lights and its receiving the power. I try to replace the ace v3 chip for a new one and it does the same thing. Also i re-solder all the cables. Now when i try to turn it on, the power brick shuts down. Any recommendations to troubleshoot will be appreciated. thanks in advance.
Hi could anyone tell me how to check if I have a 4gb or 16mb on my setting without opening the Xbox 360 S. I know I have a corona base on model and manufacturer date, but I would like to know what to look for on my settings before I open the machine.
Go into the storage options, if you have a 4gb module and as you mention you are in the Corona MFR date range then you have a 4gb Corona nand. If you only see your HDD or connected USB, then you have a 16mb Corona nand.
Just finished the install, but won't boot. Not sure what I'm missing. I used a solder bridge for the missing modules and the soldering looks good with no bridging on any points. Would a bad post fix install cause a no boot? Maybe I damaged the board or burned it, but I think I did OK. I used an older video that showed you writing the ECC file after reading the nand. Could that have caused it as well? Tried using the power button and a USB controller. No power on.
I'm having a weird issue after the install. Everything is fine until after I write the ECC, then try and boot up Xell. The system powers on with a green light, the fan spins for a second then stops. The Ace v3 debug light blinks once and stops. I've redone my wiring at least 5 times and it's solid. What am I doing wrong?
@@sourcespooky393 i figured it out. Bought it last month. He still has everything you need. You can still make RGH with just the videos he has right now
@@TheWeekendModder That would be great! If you could do more RGH examples that would awesome!

Hello, i need your help, same setup as you, nand readed, but when im trying to write ECC, still getting error: device is not ready, i tried many of usb readers but still same, pls help, thanks.
I been trying to get i got some usb wirght coming then i am going to try again your the best keep it up man i really like doing and my ppl so happy when they get it
Just a quick question, with the sonus360 upgrade, you need a jrprogrammer (with a 16mb nand) to flash the boot and eject sounds, if you have a 4gb nand do you use the sdcard way to program the sounds to the console and not use the jrprogrammer? Thank You
I have selected format on that first pop-up and after reading the nands, it's failing to create ecc. it's saying wrong header. Is there anyway I can fix that?
I've just RGH'd a Corona v2 4GB with Ace v3 using this method but I'm getting a slow boot - about 15 seconds. Pretty sure I used all the same settings as you - default timing on the chip (haven't flashed any timing files myself), XeBuild Glitch2 with CR4 unchecked. Console started on 17526 and I've flashed modded 17599. Everything works fine, just consistently slow boot. Is there anything I could do to get it to insta boot?
15 seconds consistently isn't too bad. I'd suggest doing 5 boots in a row and actually timing them, if the average is 15 sec or under - don't mess with it. If you're gonna tweak anyways, play with your RST wire (D). You can adjust the wire length, or even add a small microfarad capacitor between RST and GND.
Hello, I did everything according to your instructions, everything turned out very much thanks. but after some time the prefix stopped starting the green diode is on and that's it, please tell me what to do?
Can anyone please help me. Where can I get the default timing file for ace V3. For my Corona 4GB. It's just the ace V3 I'm using was removed from a Trinity and having trouble. Finding the timing file. Can't get it to boot in Xell This is the 36th Xbox 360 console. I have modded and this is the first Corona 4GB I have come across
used the sdtool for the first time last night, found kynar to be too fragile after having 2 connections break. Wound up re wiring it with 30 awg stranded at about 3-4" and had 0 issues reading or writing. Makes me wish I woulda started modding sooner.
just rghed my trinity with ace v3 and cr4 speedup. i can get it to boot to xell and to dash, but it will red ring after 20 seconds or so. it will insta red ring when i try to boot it unless i let it sit for awhile. the error code is 0010 or e04. will a reflow of the southbridge will fix it?
Sorry man, my expertise is in the modding process. I never really got into the reball/reflow scene. It does sound like you've got some sort of hardware issue outside of the mod, but I'm just not very much help with those issues.
Is there a name to screwdrivers with that specific look to it ? I’ve been looking for one that you can use by hand but I only can find regular screwdrivers that don’t work on the screws on my console.
My xbox 360 is running on dashboard 2.0.17511.0 and a new update of the dashboard came. Im not sure of what to do now, i'm afraid of installing the ace v3 right now since people say that updating the console can brick the console and i don't know if it has to be a specific version right now to not brick it.
Could i use the SD tool in this video on the 16mb corona model? Everything on my console looks the EXACT same as yours, except the NAND, which is much larger and is, what i presume, the 16mb model. edit: thought id add more info
I have a Xbox 360 E Winchester model some days back I changed the motherboard of it and after it's not playing games instead playing DVD so researched on it and found that it has to link to motherboard to do it you have to be rgh the console but it's unmodeble any suggestions how can I fix it
simply put - you can't. If you didn't keep the matched pair of mobo/dvd drive together - then there is nothing to be done about it now. If the winchester was mod-able you could get the DVD key and flash the drive and fix it up , but since there is no way to RGH a winchester there is no way for you to get the DVD key that you need. Sorry - you're genuinely screwed.
Hey weekend modder, I am having a serious issue with trying to mod my xbox and I have no idea what is going on. The xbox runs fine for about 15 minutes and then gets the red dot of death. If I try turning it on again it will last about 10 seconds. The third time and afterwards it usually insta-red dots. In order to "reset it" I have to leave it overnight (if I try it again in two hours it will still insta-red dot). The console fan speed is on max and the average temps are 50 degrees Celcius. I have tried to mod two trinity consoles and one corona console and I always get the same issue. I have used a few different matrix and a few different ace v3 and I get the same issue. The have re-done my soldering at least ten times with the same issue. Have you ever encountered this? I don't even know where to start. What could be causing this?
That's pretty oddball. Based on that info the only thing that I can guess would be maybe you've got a bad power supply? Have you been using the same power supply on all these consoles?
Alright so I just modded another Trinity and I think I solved the issue as its been running fine for 2 hours. Not sure what exactly fixed it though but I did these things differently: - I noticed that most of my solder blobs were grey. I made them shiny silver by switching to a thinner iron tip, adjusting the temp to 370 celc, and applying more flux. - I cleaned up the flux afterwards with isopropyl alcohol. - I used the alternative point (FTR4?) instead of soldering to the resistor for point D (Ace V3).
Do you have experience in corona 4g v4/v6 squirt dual nand pcb install with ace v3 glitch chip?My question is after getting cpu key from xell, don't you want to flash your retail image back to the stock 4g nand? Then install your squirt dual nand pcb and then "PERFORM THE TRACE CUT OF COARSE BEFORE FLASHING THE GLITCH IMAGE TO THE 16MB SECOND NAND, CORRECT?" Thanks as I can no longer find the tuts/info needed because teamx360 forums is no more :(
Sorry, I've never installed a squirt dual nand. I've had one collecting dust on my shelf for forever, but never got around to trying it. Once modshop came out with the Viper I was never forced to learn the squirt. I think all the documentation for those was over at the teamx360.co.uk site, but as you noticed it shut down. I bet something like "the way back machine" or some other caching site might be able to get you copies of those pages. Generally speaking with other dual nands - you could either pre-RGH the console as you suggest, then write retail back to the onboard nand and then treat the dual nand install as a totally separate install basically. ORRRRR you could install the dual nand, in some cases (demon) use the dual nand to read the retail nand, write your ECC to the add-on nand and then boot from that to get Xell - essentially having never overwritten the stock nand at all - only read from it.
ok thank you for your input, I believe I am correct about the tracecut before switching to the add on nand and writing glitch image to it (as it only makes sense to me, not to interfere with the retail nand while writing to the add on nand...)
This is my first attempt on a slim, I've done many phats and they were all successful. I read the nand, wrote the ecc image, installed the glitch chip and postfix adapter, now the console won't turn on but makes the sound when pressing the power button. Any way I can save my console?
Troubleshooting advice is always the same: Rewrite your original nanddump1.bin file and disable the glitch chip to confirm that the console will still boot retail. If it won't boot retail, then you've damaged something and need to fix that before restarting your mod attempt.
TheWeekendModder now the glitch chip green led is just on, not blinking or anything, just a constant green light, I checked my soldering and everything looks fine, console turns on now, but the glitch chip led is just still.
TheWeekendModder Yes, the console booted in retail mode when I wrote the Original nand, but when I restarted to attempt to rgh it a 2nd time the glitch chip just had a solid green light after I wrote the ecc image. I checked the postfix adapter, my soldering, everything looked right but no glitching.
there's a problem... while i was soldering to the nand points, one of them(the first one) came out!!! idk what i did! it was going really well with all the points and then suddenly this came out! the console works and everythings fine except that i cant do it because of this point. i have all my parts ready and dont want to waste them just for one point , is there anything i can do. tnx
if the console still boots with the point destroyed - you'll have to follow the trace and either solder to it (the trace) or find another place that has connectivity to the pad you ripped off.
i did solder to the trace and it worked, got 4 nand reads, all clear, then i created the ecc and wrote the ecc after that, is it ok if i wrote it without installing the ace v3? then i installed the ace v3 and i tried switching on the console but dont know how, i dont have a remote of such, plz help
I think my hdmi is messed up, bc on my TV is shows green dot like things on the screen and sometime green and purple lines and it dosent show that on my elgato. so is there anyway I could pay you a little more to fix that when I go to buy the send in service?
No, that sounds like pre-RROD which means you need a reflow or reball of the GPU (or probably just a replacement console b/c its often cheaper than repair). I don't do reflows or reballs, just modding.
Have you ever thought about using the kiosk mode to get the best boot timing. I can’t find much about it but it has something to do with debugging and amazing outcomes.
I've played with Xecuters auto boot functionality to do boot timing using the kiosk option to turn the console on and off. All that does is give you an automated way to do the boot cycling for tuning. At this point, I've done enough consoles I've got a darn good feel for doing it manually.
If you're trying to put a Rev C into a corona you're going to need an external crystal oscillator to generate the CLK signal. You can see what I mean by comparing a Rev C to a Rev D. The Rev D has an integrated onboard crystal. There are also little add-on boards that TX made for a while called a "corona upgrade qsb" that has the crystal on the QSB and would make it so you could use a rev c.
when i install xex menu in my flash drive and insert it in my xbox 360 xex menu does not show up, even though i already installed the ace v3, and wrote the ecc
If you only wrote the ECC, your console is only booting Xell at best. Capture your CPU key, create and write the Xebuild image and you should have a fully working RGH console.
Well done, great tut :) Like all of the rest. Last week just ordered your SD tool to Europe, but today made my own one based on SD card reader. Just one note - can't boot the console (just a beep sound) when SD card reader installed. When removed - boots up within 2-3 glitches. Any ideas why ?
On the SD tool there is a line between pad C and the left side of a crystal onboard on the console. When the SD card tool for reading is installed that connection between C and the crystal has to be broken for the console to be able to read/use it's own nand. I've done a few installs where I left the SD tool in the console and put a switch inline with that connection so I could just flip it on and off.
I have a corona with a 16 mb nand that does not require a postfix. I will be ordering from u but i want to order everything at once and be done. can you make a list or a video listing everything. I just want to be certain i get everything i need.
Man I wish it was easy as it is on PS3, just pop some files on a flash drive and install a few things and bam, you can now transfer any game over and play without any issues and even play PS2 games on a PS3 that is not backwards compatible.
Hey, thanks for this tutorial👍🏽 It's been one year and a half since i modded my console with this tutorial. But I wanted to ask what the problem might be because my xbox now starts up but then shuts down while loading
TheWeekendModder Fair point, but that means that you need to an extra power cycle for your rgh, and you can screw up nand write process if your wiring is messy ;). Xell can work fine with usb and even tftp server if you have one. That seems more like civilized solution;))
Power cycles are not a concern... it's not like it has limited number of restarts. But Xell does have active bad block remapping and that could be desirable.
Hey great detailed video, I’m new to Xbox “modding” since I’m from the PlayStation scene. I have a very old 360 lying about probably not been updated to the newest dash in 4 years maybe 5 Is there anyway to rgh or jtag it without soldering ?
Hey my rgh is bricked. It will not power up. I tried ejecting the disc tray and xell will not pop up. I dissammbled my console and my ace v3 chip just stays red.
What was the last thing you did to or with it? An xbox is a complicated machine and based on the (nearly zero) info you've provided in a one line youtube comment I'm not going to be able to diagnose your problem. Start with a full rundown of the last time it worked, and what you were doing with it. If it won't even boot xell though, it's likely to require soldering in a programmer to fix it. Or maybe you just spilled water on it - who knows...
TheWeekendModder okay the last time I used it was a couple of months ago because I didn't have a kv and when i finally got one which was last night. I pluggges it in and booted it up and nothing happened.
So if it was 100% working before you put it in your trunk, and now without any other changes it is not working then yes I think it's entirely possible it got too hot in your trunk or maybe got beat up and rattled something loose.
Have you installed an ace v4.1 on corona yet? I hear it is easier it is 8 wires now but don't have to do excell install? If you can do a vid on it it would be helpful.
@@Thee_Dr_Evil yup, at first i connected only 1 ground, i was able to read the nand but not write on it..then, i soldered both, and it worked perfectly.
I'd be willing to bet it is possible, but it's been so long since I've messed with a DGX I don't have any advice to offer you on how to do it precisely.
hey bro this might be a stupid question, but i never learned. what does v2 mean? i have a corona but dont know which version it is. i see v2 v3 etc. thanks for the tutorial!
Hello TheweekendModder, I have just recently watched a ton of your videos of you modding xbox 360's into rgh's. I have a xbox 360 E with a date of 2013-09-08 and I'm also certain it is 4gb nand due to the fact that the nand isn't fully flush to the "lines" (I don't know the word for it) and the motherboard is a corona.
TheWeekendModder did what you said and it work, I guess i just have to keep trying
TheWeekendModder now the glitch chip green led is just on, not blinking or anything, just a constant green light, I checked my soldering and everything looks fine, console turns on now, but the glitch chip led is just still.
Did you console boot retail in the testing I suggested in my last reply?
TheWeekendModder Alright, thank you
a god among men. thanks for the vid.
What is the firmware file called after the rgh
Thanks. Then what timing file would I use in jrunner if I’m using cr rev c? And Crystal? (With using 48mh) or world one of your timing files work?
Where do i bridge the r2c10 resistor on corona v3 .
Please give me the answer
Take a look, several 16mb corona videos already made: weekendmodder.com/oldsite/CoronaRGH.html
Just a quick question would I be able to use 26 awg wires as that’s all I have
For.... ? Wiring up the console? or on the SD tool? I'd say it's fine for the SD tool.
Can I use a homemade Sd tool ( micro sd card adapter)? With all these parts.
Also can I use sandpaper instead of a scratch pen.
Yes, you can absolutely make a home-made adapter. No - I would strongly recommend against using sandpaper.
Man I wish it was easy as it is on PS3, just pop some files on a flash drive and install a few things and bam, you can now transfer any game over and play without any issues and even play PS2 games on a PS3 that is not backwards compatible.
Your Postfix adapter v2 is out of stock when will you get more?
Already have more on the way, but it will probably still be a week or possibly a bit more.
TheWeekendModder okay because I want to mod my corona 16mb and I need a postfix for that.
I have seen people solder the ground wire thing to the rf board crystal can you do that or is it bad?
No idea.
TheWeekendModder oh okay
What other kind of dual nand can be used because your viper dual nand is out of stock
Vipers are headed back to stock soon - check in about 2 weeks.
Hey, thanks for this tutorial👍🏽 It's been one year and a half since i modded my console with this tutorial. But I wanted to ask what the problem might be because my xbox now starts up but then shuts down while loading
You've got a bad plugin set in dashlaunch. You need to use the eject bypass method or put on a blank launch.ini file to get around it.
TheWeekendModder Ohhhh okay, thanks man!
Do you have to format the SD Tool
1:09:21 why not use a flash drive to let xell write a NAND?
I just always preferred to use the hardware write since I already had it wired up at that point
So at what point would it fail if i needed a post fix but did not do it?
You wouldn't ever boot Xell.
My console got bricked due to bad or corrupted nand, how can i unbricked my console?
please help
Whats so funny
Can you still use a cool runner Rev c and a jr programmer today on a slim console?
It would work fine on a Trinity, but you need something with an oscillator for a Corona.
TheWeekendModder thanks man is there any social media’s I can add you on, I might need some help for my first attempt at installing a rgh
Just use an ace, they're cheap enough to buy.
koben evans I recommend a matrix with an occilator if it is a corona. I am available on discord if you need help.
Hey I was wondering how much sendins were? I have a slim console and I would like that RGH can you give me a price on that?
$75 which includes return shipping once the service re-opens.
Okay well I know how to do it but I don’t have the equipment
is there any links to where he got the supplies from?
I can't tell if this question is serious? I don't self-promote enough? weekendmodder.com/store
@@TheWeekendModder oh sorry i forgot to mention im in australia so i guess that you didnt ship out here
Hey great detailed video, I’m new to Xbox “modding” since I’m from the PlayStation scene. I have a very old 360 lying about probably not been updated to the newest dash in 4 years maybe 5 Is there anyway to rgh or jtag it without soldering ?
No, even the oldest versions of JTAG required soldering.
TheWeekendModder okay cheers for clearing that up mate
TheWeekendModder could it be because it was my trunk of the car?
TheWeekendModder it also has an post fix adapter
So if it was 100% working before you put it in your trunk, and now without any other changes it is not working then yes I think it's entirely possible it got too hot in your trunk or maybe got beat up and rattled something loose.
When i boot my rgh xexmenu or dashlauch wont work
Have you installed an ace v4.1 on corona yet? I hear it is easier it is 8 wires now but don't have to do excell install? If you can do a vid on it it would be helpful.
I've got some Ace V4's coming tomorrow, but if you look back it should be the same install as the old "stone" glitch chip.
Thank you so much can't wait to get my console
do i need to use a seperate flux if i have a rosin core solder?
Yes.
My ecc won’t write... help pls
Hi, how many watt is the soldering you use ?
Hakko FD-888D 70W 480C
I use a 60W iron, 250 C, and Lead-Free solder.
What tools would I need to do this all?
Software and readers ect.
weekendmodder.com/suppliesrequired.html
Can my console corona v4 use this way? And where point on motherboard to crystal? Thank you very very much. i'm vietnamese 😊
do you need a j-r programmer?
I have a Corona 4g 2011/08/05 do I need the adapter?
Probably you will not require a postfix adapter.
So is mine a corona if it is 2013? Mine also says 250gb
use a mask
@@luminumlx2604 too late i aM dEaD
Yup. 2013 MFR date is gonna be a Corona.
Would a laptop sd card reader work better cuz its built in
Generally in my experience built in readers work very poorly with the SD tool
What soldering iron do you use!?!?!?!
Hakko FD-888D
Hi! Do I need to bridge point 4 and 6 together?
nope, hope you figured that out already.
@@Thee_Dr_Evil yup, at first i connected only 1 ground, i was able to read the nand but not write on it..then, i soldered both, and it worked perfectly.
is there any difference from rghing the 4gb and the 250gb
Yes, when we say 4gb that’s the nand not the hard drive(storage) I don’t think there is a 250gb nand
@@mffcrazyv8940 lmao imagine how long will it take to read 250gb nand
Hey it's there any method of using this USB on a Trinity. It's so easy and cheap
No.
Hey I was wondering when you would get new ace v3s and if I can use a v4. Thanks!
I don't expect that I'll be getting new genuine V3's at all. V4's are certainly an option - but install methods are not the same.
Thanks!
Anyone care to link where they got a working sd card reader?
I cant access the www.store.weekendmodder.com website, and I Want get this 2011 December Xbox 360 slim S modded/ RGH'ed :(
Do store.weekendmodder.com without the www and it will work
Is it Possible to install a DGX into a JasperBB ?
I'd be willing to bet it is possible, but it's been so long since I've messed with a DGX I don't have any advice to offer you on how to do it precisely.
TheWeekendModder okay thanks :) I think i just use a Matrix.
Can the Xbox 360 e manufacturing at 08.2015
Probably not. You'd have to open it up to check. weekendmodder.com/slim_e.html
Is the store still running?
Yup
Cuanto saldría enviar con gastos de envío ya incluidos a Madrid (España) un chip para Xbox Slim con la placa corona? Por favor

Weekend Modder, what if i did this without flux paste?
Then you run a much, much higher chance of damaging your console.
hey bro this might be a stupid question, but i never learned. what does v2 mean? i have a corona but dont know which version it is. i see v2 v3 etc. thanks for the tutorial!
Version. Version1 version2, etc th-cam.com/video/X2HzIDWlH8k/w-d-xo.html
Hello TheweekendModder, I have just recently watched a ton of your videos of you modding xbox 360's into rgh's. I was very eager to get into it myself but I'm having trouble figuring out which mod tools I need to get started. I have a xbox 360 E with a date of 2013-09-08 and I'm also certain it is 4gb nand due to the fact that the nand isn't fully flush to the "lines" (I don't know the word for it) and the motherboard is a corona. I have fully taken it apart and I am ready to mod it but I need to order the right mod tools. Could you tell me what all I would need for my situation?
You need a SD tool, a postfix adapter, and either an Ace V3 or a pre-programmer Matrix glitch chip.
