Hey can you please do podcast for 10 hour layover in HK . What places shall we visit . Please let me know
Hi, depending on your arrival time, you can probably visit the HK city and check out Victoria Peak - just keep in mind that the transit to the city may be an hour, and the wait to get on the tram to Victoria Peak can be another hour. Lan Tau Island is good nearby spot from the airport and you'll get to experience the cable car, but if you're arriving in the evening, the whole village on the island may be closed.
Have fun!
Thank you for this!! I have a ten hour layover in HK! The cable car and Buddha statue looked incredible!! I’m definitely doing this. Do u get views of the HK skyline ? Was thinking of Victoria Peak as well on my layover
Hi Kevin! Thanks for watching and for your question. Excited for your upcoming layover!
You can see a nice view from the Cable Car but it's not going to be the city of HK. I think Victoria Peak will provide that for you. Keep in mind that getting to the city may feel like you won't enough time even if it is 10 hrs.
Have tons of fun on your layover and at your destination. Safe travels!

Just a quick question, I’m going to have 9 hours layover in HK as well.
Were it a self transfer luggage for u, u have to keep ur luggage’s or it is transferred straight yo the next flight? Thank u in advance
@@nhinguyen91nd hello! Luggage was automatically transferred to the next flight , no need to worry. 9 hours is plenty ! I went to Victoria peak , took star ferry , and roamed around to some other parts . Airport express drops you right in downtown! Safe travels !
Thank you for this video.
From the HK Airport where would we get the bus/taxi to Tung Chung Cable Car to go to Lantau Island please?
Also, Can you purchase the cable car tickets when you get there? And can we purchase with a card rather than cash? Is there a price difference of purchasing before? Thank you
Hi! Thank you for watching and for your questions.. .hope my answers are helpful!
By Taxi
You can simply take a Lantau taxi (blue) to Tung Chung Cable Car Terminal in just around 10 minutes. It costs around HK$40.
By Bus
Or you can take the S1, S56, S64 and S64X bus to go to Tung Chung Bus Terminus. This journey takes approximately 10 minutes and the bus station is adjacent to the Ngong Ping Tung Chung Cable Car Terminal.
^ got the info on their website: www.np360.com.hk/en/visitors-information/tourist-guide
You can purchase there the day of, but I recommend purchasing beforehand just in case there's a line to purchase. If you do purchase there the day of, I think they take credit card: www.np360.com.hk/en/ticketing/where-to-buy
And i don't think there's a difference in price if you buy in advance vs. buying day of. The difference is that you'll save time if you buy in advance.
Hope this helps! Have a safe trip to Hong Kong!
This is great info! How much time in advance of departure would you say to return to the airport (also Cathay Pacific); does it take a while to get through security? And would you suggest using Google Translate since I only speak English? Can US citizens visit right now without a Visa, still?
Hi Michele! We got back to the airport with about 1.5 hrs left before departure. Considering that at the time it was quiet and not crowded, we didn’t need to give it the recommended 2-3 hrs before departure. With that said, checking in, and going thru security was swift. Most likely won’t be the case now, so determine at your discretion. Lan tau island is so close to the airport that I would say if anyone has 5 hrs TOTAL for a layover, they’ll be able to do the agenda I did BUT they’ll have to rush out the airport upon arrival to make the most of it, and maybe not spend too much time in the village.
Yes, totally use Google translate. But you may encounter people who can speak English like us (I was just trying to practice my Cantonese haha).
US citizen can enter Hong Kong now but there may be a 7 day quarantine required. Might’ve been lifted this month (June) though! And to my understanding, you don’t need a Visa if you’re visiting for up to 90 days (generous!)
Hope this helps! Safe travels, Michele.

@@Ticket2Anywhere Thank you for the input!! You have certainly inspired me to consider this stop on my journey - thank you!
Would you have any recommendations for arriving later? I have a 7 hour layover but from 4pm-11pm. I think the village closes around 6pm so probably wouldnt have enough time.
Hi Caitlin ! Thanks for reaching out. It will definitely be a close call trying to get to the village at that time before closing. I suggest going into the city and trying to get on the Peak Tram that'll take you up to Victoria Peak, which is one of the best locations for views of Hong Kong AND you might even get to catch it during sunset if time works in your favor! Getting to the city via train will be about 50 mins but taxi, uber, etc may be about 30 mins without traffic (so if there's traffic, might be better to just do train). I havent done the Peak Tram to Victoria Peak but it's definitely on my list whenever I get back to Hong Kong for a trip. Also, after being done with the Peak, you can get back into the city and eat some bomb food, then head back to the airport.
FYI... I've heard the Peak Tram line can be long (ETA an hr wait) but there are other ways to get up to Victoria Peak via car as well.
Safe travels to you! Hope this helps and let us know what you end up doing on the layover. Thank you for watching

@@Ticket2Anywhere Amazing, thank you Trizzy!
hello what is requirements to stop over on hk?
Hi Luisa, not sure if the requirements for just a stop over in HK is similar to entering. But it looks like a Rapid Antigen Test is required 24 hrs before departure, and a health declaration form is needed to generate a QR code. These are for US citizens. Here's more info - hk.usconsulate.gov/u-s-citizen-services/covid-19-information/
Hope this helps! Safe travels
Where did you leave your luggage?
Hi! Thank you for your question. We didn’t have to store our luggage because our airline handled the transiting to the destination. There are lockers around the Hong Kong airport though. Depending on your terminal, there should be some accessible for a fee.
Safe travels!
