  • This is our third and final video of Hong Kong.
    It covers the 10 hour layover stop in Hong Kong
    You can see our trip from the Airport to Kowloon here:
    • Hong Kong Airport Expr...
    And our trip on Star Ferry here:
    • Video
    This video focuses on how we spent the 10 hours between landing in Hong Kong and then flying to Phuket. We show you hour by hour what we did, where we went and how time went by.
    The Go Pro battery did die after hour 7 so there is limited video from that point but, we offer some post commentary.
    We hope this video can help you plan a stop over trip in Hong Kong.

    What time did you land in Hong Kong? I have a 9 hour layover in a few weeks landing at 5:15 AM. I can't decide if it is worth it to go into the city that early or if everything will just be closed.

    • @SierrasTravel
      @SierrasTravel  ปีที่แล้ว

      5:15 is earlier but you could do it. Figure you can clear the airport and make it to the city by 6:30. By 7 there should be some breakfast spots open. You could pick one neighborhood to explore and one “attraction” around 9am before heading back to the airport around noon? I think victora peak tram starts running early on weekends.

      Hi, we use luggagehero app when we travel. There are many spots in NYC you can book. I’d suggest sticking with hotels that offer luggage storage.

  • @S2ChikiyoS2

    Hi, How were you able to leave the airport during the layover? Did you have to do a PCR test before hand? We have a 10 hour layover in Hong Kong before our layover in Thailand. Could you please explain the process? Did you also have to get your luggage?

    • @SierrasTravel
      @SierrasTravel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, you need to take a PCR test before travel to Hong Kong, even for a transit through or layover. Once you land, you clear HK immigration where they give you a “day pass”. Then you are free to enter Hong Kong only. You don’t need to pick up your bags, they will be transferred to your next flight. We flew Cathay Pacific.

    • @S2ChikiyoS2
      @S2ChikiyoS2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SierrasTravel Thanks for the response! When you returned to the airport, did you need another PCR test? Or is the original PCR test still valid?

      @@S2ChikiyoS2 Always always get the latest updates from the official government website or the airlines you're travelling with. COVID requirements change quite frequently especially for Hong Kong. Starting from June 1st for example, PCR test is no longer required for transit passengers.

    • @tong.clement
      @tong.clement ปีที่แล้ว

      Not any more - only rapid test necessary , and no more quarantine, only 3 days of no bars and restaurants, and a few PCRs after arrival. For more specifics, check the HKSAR governments website (the policy is called 0+3 as of today)
