Hi...love the video! Does Vincent ever do Saturday tours?
What is Vincent’s email, please?
@@neBilan send an email to lesfrenchiestravel@gmail.com and I'll forward it to him
This was hysterical! Thank you for the “education” but most importantly, the fun! I can only imagine the 3 of you attempting to negotiate your way out of that bar. Thanks for brightening my gloomy Saturday, and I will have “une coupe de champagne” with Colleen. Merci!
I love that the brothers do the same flapping with their hands when they like something. It must be a family trait! 😊
Put a wig and glasses on Antoine and good luck telling them apart, especially after a few drinks
Yeah! I laugh when he did it;notice that to.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣@@joetjoepjoeserneejm
It's typically french, actually.
Wiggle the finger as if he’s conducting an orchestra, too.
My two cents : when you eat a sugar with alcool it's called "un canard" (a duck).
But absinthe used to be served in a glass then water pass through the sugar with a special spoon.
Calvados is also drunk with coffee, the famous "Café-calva".
Thank you 😊
I vote for more of these tasting videos! You all getting the giggles was hysterical! 😆🤣🤣 I wish you many more happy giggling adventures!
I like their camaraderie, but I don’t drink. So I wouldn’t care to see more of this. It helped me more when she said what the waiter will ask u upon arriving at the restaurant.
It really was a funny segment! Loved them having so much fun.
Yay! The weekend starts with Les Frenchies' upload!
What a fun video! You all getting a bit tipsy was hilarious 😂.
One of the best! 😂😅
On cider, a small warning for our overseas friends. Here in France, "Cidre" is always alcoholic with a alcohol content usually between 3% and 6%. If you want non-alcoholic sparkling cider, you should instead ask if they have some "jus de pomme pétillant".
Hard cider is so popular here now that a restaurant server might assume you mean the alcoholic version. At least, that’s how it is on the west coast. Cider is a great alternative for people who don’t like the taste of beer. I like the drier English style ones, which I think is the one Colleen didn’t like.
@@letarogers6380 That's interesting! I didn't know that hard cider was popular in the US. As a french fan of cider, I've only heard that the definition of the word was distinct between France and the US, and I didn't want someone visiting to get surprised by the difference.
Les Frenchies Pompette! The party can't start without Vincent. I love him 😍
Thank You Cynthia. Have a good day. 😉
OMG, we were killing ourselves laughing watching this! The three of you were definitely tipsy as the video went on!
😂
Since we left Paris three weeks ago, I tried to stop watching your videos. It made me sad as I wasn't there anymore 😢. But oh how I've missed you! This video made me laugh out loud as the mix of different drinks made you tipsy and soooo funny. Can't wait to get back there 😘
LOL!! Your facial expressions say it all! This was really fun to watch and it appears you enjoyed it quite well. To serve of absinthe correctly, pour the absinthe in a glass. Place a sugar cube on your absinthe spoon if you have one or a slotted spoon over the glass and slowly pour ice-cold water over the sugar cube. Let the water slowly drip over the sugar cube for it to dissolve in your glass of absinthe. You should have approximately three to four parts of water per one part absinthe. Your drink will change color from green to a light yellow-green. Stir and Enjoy!
That episode was hilarious! Thanks, my eyes are watering from laughter.
This was so fun! We miss you now that we are back in the USA. Keep up the best videos ever!!
Thank you, see you next time when you'll be back in France, on of theses days
I was watching the video today and saw the Absinthe bit. I had never heard of someone dipping a sugarcube in it and eating it, honestly I thought someone set you up with that as a joke. The idea of the sugar cube was to put it on a slotted "spoon" that looks more like a cheese knife and have that sit across the rim of you glass over the Absinthe. It was 68 proof because then you drip ice water on to the sugar dissolving it into your glass and mellowing out your drink. The drink then turns a light minty green often referred to as "The Green Fairy". Please make an amended video with that version, you will see a difference.
That video was good fun.
Perhaps it was the booze 🥴 but I believe they were pronouncing Absinthe incorrectly. It is not A-bi-sinthe, it’s Ab-sinthe. … correct?
@@ontarioyamon Yes, they were definitely more than a little gone by the time they got to to the absinthe!
Ti'Punch - We used to drink those in the Caribbean. You drink three and you gonna see the angels flying!! 👼
3:00 The kir bears the name of Canon Felix KIR, the lord mayor of Dijon after WWII. For official receptions where champagne was usually served, he thought it wiser to serve a local drink called _un blanc-cassis_ instead. It is a dollop of black currant liquor with a glass of white wine, both produced in Burgundy.
when i was a steudent , i made my overseas friends to taste the chartreuse ( mde by monks), well, they appreciated it....and slept on the floor after that.
I've loved all your videos, but this one with Colleen surrounded by the brothers enjoying the lovely French aperitifs is super fun. I'm definitely booking a Vincent tour next visit!
This is by far my favorite video. I laugh every time I watch it. ❤❤❤
Even for a french who doesn't drink alcool, your opinions on our aperitifs is very interesting !
I subscribed to your channel : thank you to share our culture, food and drinks !!!
Merci !
I got a lot of enjoyment from this video. The more you drank the more amusement I got.
I love pastis. I even learned to like non-alcoholic pastis such as Pacific. Unfortunately, it is not available where I live. Our first experience with Calvados was not smooth. As the evening went on the bartender kept bringing us more of their special, homemade Calva from the depths of their cellar. Very memorable. I find it very enjoyable, too. I agree that Cassis is a nice addition to white wine and champagne. This was a very enjoyable episode. I was getting tipsy just watching. Thanks for sharing.🍾 🍹 🍷♥
You three were hilarious as you got tipsy. My husband and I watched and were laughing through the whole video. Your faces got redder and redder. We’re coming to Paris at the beginning of next year. I wish we could hang out with the three of you. We will book with Vincent if we can find a time that works. Love your vids!
I was just in Paris three weeks ago and the drink everyone was serving was the St. Germain Spritz. The best by far was at Le St. Germain.
You’ll have to do a part 2: Suze, St Germain, Byrrh, Porto, Picon bierre, Clacquesin, Lillet, Dubonnet… Calvados is a more a digestif: a 3rd idea for a video. Keep it up! Great channel
Another really great video. Thank you.
Of course, as well as Champagne, many French people drink "Cremant" (de Loire, de Bourgogne") as an aperitif. Cremant is made in the same way as Champagne, but can't be called Champagne because it's not made in the Champagne region. I love it!
You're right about Calvados. It's more often drunk as a digestif rather than an a aperitif.
Loved your reactions to Absinthe. It's very much an acquired taste, but should be tasted at least once in life. 😇I like it!
I love all your videos, but I think this is my new favourite one.
This was absolutely hilarious! Thank you for this great laugh on Saturday morning! Cheers! 🥂
Fun to watch and my hubby and I giggles along. We are in Paris often, Vincent, hope to see you soon. A bientôt.
anytime, let me know when you're in Paris.
Thank you Yesenia
Pernod is also delicious with orange juice rather than water and a few ice cubes. That's my summer apéritif! Santé !!
Oh yes!
It lovely to to see you letting your hair down it was very informative you do a good job informing people about france i am danish and have been to Paris so i love to watch your show i am danish and trained in french cuisine so i find it very interesting to see what is going on today.
Kepp up the good job and enjoy yourself.
I had my first jambon beurre in Paris the best in the world
Gert from Australia
Collen: “It’ll kill bacteria” 😂😝🤣 Such a fun video. Y’all seem to just enjoy life!
Bonjour Antoine and Colleen . I learned about the Aperol spritz on your Eiffel Tower video. On our last cruise that became my go to before dinner drink. The bartender appreciated my “sophistication “. Now I have new horizons to conquer. Merci all😊🥂🍷🍾🥂
🇲🇫❤️Packing for Paris trip next week and watching Colleen, Antoine and Vincent get the giggles while drinking: delightful! I am making an aperitif or 2 or 3 to help packing process. Just booked Les Frenchies Vincent Thursday Food Tour, thrilled! A bientot🌹
Thank you for your booking, i'm ready for the ride. Welcome in Paris
@@vincentdupont315 Any recommendations for a wine tasting on a Friday, Satuday or Sunday? Thank you
Mdr!! On déguste on déguste !!! Attention de ne pas rouler sous la table 😂. That one was hilarious!
you guys are so cute! I love the way Antoine conducts when he loves something so much. Thank for making these videos
Hilarious! Merci for the California morning laughs! 🥂
Learned about Aperol Spritz when we were in Paris. Now I live in Madrid and drink it all the time!
Super video! Laughed my way through it (and I wasn’t even drinking 😂)
Vincent was right. My dad was part of the Normandy Invasion. And I grew up hearing his stories about how the GI’s were welcomed by the French with Calvados.
When my husband and I visited Normandy in 1985, we brought him back a bottle. He took one sip and said, “It tastes like lighter fluid! I don’t know how we won that war!” 😂😂
The bottle we got in Normandy was very strong!
Hello from Canada. Another useful video for my upcoming trip. I love it how you all became more giggly towards the end. LOL.
Great info and so funny to see you get giddy in real time. Loved it
I LOVE THIS VIDEO!
We have everything in this video at home except for beer and cidre.
We always get brute cidre from Bretagne when we stay in the South. In addition, when were in the South every summer and out and about in the intense heat, a Pastis is the most reflective beverage of all time. Because I can’t hold liquor, my limit is one.
My summer go to at home os Aperol
Spritz but with champagne.
Now that autumn is here, our weekend aperitif is the Kir Royal. I cook a lot with Calvados and on our home it’s more used after dinner.
I’m so happy that you are normalizing champagne-we always have a case in our garage and in our home it is used regularly.
My apologies if I sound like a lush bit we have aperitifs only on the weekends at home but every night in France! Lol!
le meilleur épisode jusqu'ici ! J'ai beaucoup ri ! Merci
Hello Les Frenchies. We met you at the Louvre the afternoon of September 20; we thanked you then, but publicly, thanks for giving us the information on ALL your videos to navigate Paris. They empowered us and made us believe we could enjoy Paris, which we did. My question is, did we meet you before or after you did this video? Looks like you enjoyed making this one. Merci beaucoup!
I love Aperol Spritz, Absinthe and Pastis...must try some beers and a Calvados next time...merci!
And it’s time for the apéro of the day. 😆
🤣
I always enjoy your videos, but this one had me laughing out loud. Great topic and even greater characters. You really rock!
Les Frenchies get squiffy - fabulous! 🥂❤️
I think I need to try the pear cider.🥰
What a fun video. Thank you.
Another great video! I had a great time watching... thanks you two...💙👍🗼🇫🇷
Ha! My sister's favorite wine is that Whispering Angel rosé. It IS quite nice. This was so fun! I love to try different drinks or cocktails. And I'm right there with you: sparkling wine oe champagne with pizza is perfection. When my husband and I first got married, we got cheap wine and pizza for our "pizza and champagne" nights.
Aperol Spritz is Aperol, Sparkling Water & Prosecco over ice, also Campari Spritz (same ingredients, but Campari instead of Aperol )
That was absolutely fabulous! So much fun watching you enjoy the drinks of France..... "kicks like a mule", Coleen, you are hilarious!
This video was a lot of fun 😂🥂🍹🥃 thank you for sharing your tips!
My favorite is Chambord in a nice dry white wine with a lemon twist
I would love to go on a food tour with Vincent! Love your passion for all things French❤
Thank you, let me know when you' re ready for the ride..........
@@vincentdupont315 Vincent, I'll be coming out for the first week in June 2024.. how far in advance to you recommend booking? I would so enjoy a tour with you!!!
Hi Didisinclair, 2024 will be a special year with the Olympics... We gonna have millions of visitors worlwide. My best advice is to book far in advance to make sure to get a ticket reservation. Best regards 😉@@didisinclair3605
I was introduced to the Lillet Spritz while in France. It's a tasty alternative to the Apérol Spirtz, especially if you're not keen on the bitter undertone of that apéritif.
Lillet is the French Aperitif since 1872 - now comes in 3 varieties: white, red and rose. Forms the base of lots of cocktails too.
As they say "absinthe makes the heart grow fonder" 😂
A & C - Congratulations, this video was an absolute hoot. Reminded me of a cooking show that Rachael Ray recorded during the lockdown...she was cooking a recipe and drinking while her husband operated the camera. Listening to her try to say "chicken tetrazzini" while knee-knocking drunk was a crackup. 🤣🤣🤣
I wish I was there trying every one of those Aperitifs with you guys! Thank you for the education today!
One of our favourite videos from you both. Leaving for Paris in 9 days! So excited!because of your many videos and many suggestions, I believe we Will have an amazing time. 🙏🏾
I’ve had proper absinthe in New Orleans. Love it. 💗🇦🇺
This did make me lol. Was just playing with the idea of a paris trip, from the UK. Thanks so much for your video's, great info and love the idea of a food tour ❤
Quelle journée!! avec tous ces mélanges à la suite. Pour moi cocktail sans alcool la prochaine fois pleaaaase🤣🤣🤣 What a day with all these alcoholic drinks . Please next time alcohol free drinks and cocktails.
Ahh pastis, nothing like if during the sweltering hot summer days in the south - I am sure that most people use it while playing pétanque as an aiming fluid 😆
Lots of fun. Spent 6 days riding my bike around Normandy before riding to the Cote d'Azur over the next few weeks. I absolutely loved Normandy Cider and Calvados. So many different tastes - just like wine. I made a vow not to have wine until I hit the Loire Valley. Once out of Normandy, most Brasseries and Cafes did not have cider, so I'm glad that I kept my vow. Cider and Gallettes or Moules Frites were heavenly combos, and apple sorbet with Calvados (le trou Normand) was amazing. Of course, I sampled lots of wines during the rest of my ride across France. Eating well, drinking nice wine as local as possible, having two desserts and eating local cheeses worked well for the rest of the voyage. My favourite part of France was always the part that I was in at the time. Each place was rich in it's own way and it's not even worth comparing. Thanks for bringing back memories.
Thank you so much for this crazy vlog. It was an education that first made me smile, then laugh out loud as you were all getting more tipsy with each drink. I can’t imagine how the three of you got home. I tried Absinthe many years ago and really liked it. Thanks once again xxx
This helped alot. This is my favorite channel on TH-cam.. Merci!!!!
😊😊😊
So good ! The real Kir must be made with white wine from Burgundy : Aligoté.
Comme disait le Chanoine.....
I'm loving these videos binge watching ❤❤ I'm laughing so much and grinning at my screen 🤣
hahahaha I think Colleen is a little drunk 🤣. So funny!!!! This week I'm going to Paris. Going to watch your videos all day long 🥳
Next cocktail video: Suze, Bonnard, Chartreuse, Rinquinquin, Dubonnet Rouge, Lillet, so many French liqueurs!
Suze-cassis, le RinQuinQuin de Forcalquier, le Blanc-limé, Le Mure-mure, le Pont.......à éviter - le Gasoil (breton)
I love cider! Pear, apple. But only very sweet. Dry cider or champagne makes me want to give up drinking.
How about mixing sweet pear cider with sweet champagne :D
Another great video! Thanks!
This is one of the funniest videos you have done!
Yet another hilarious, giggeling, light hearted but informative tasting. Loved it! Tbc with Noilly Prat (french Dry Martini style Vermouth) or Muscat (natural sweet wine, served ice-cold), not to forget the numerous digèstifs, like les eaux-de-vie d'Alsace. 😊
I love how you all got progressively giddy LOL
Thank you for all the great info. And congratulations for surviving to the end of the video…🤣🤣🤣
This video had me in stitches. Colleen and Vincent together are a hoot. Next time I'm there I'm trying them all. Still had some Calvados from last trip so guess what I'm sipping on? 😊
Cheers!!
I hope to do one of these tours!!
you forgot the Grande Chartreuse digestif and specially the very old one
Amazing, i love alcohol, specially in Paris, cheers ! Sending love and blessings from Morocco
This vidéo is very funny because we're seeing you getting drunk and laugh more and more 😂😂
It's not only a vidéo about aperitif, there are some "digestifs" (absinthe et calvados)
As an aperitif you should try le muscat de Rivesalt, from la région des Pyrénées orientales dans le sud de la France.
It’s wonderful that you have each other to enjoy trips and food and friends and family. You both are truly blessed with each other. I love your videos I’ve been to Paris but would have enjoyed it more if I had seen your videos before I went.
Absolutely loved this video. We enjoy our cocktails now looking forward to try something different.Vincents food and wine tour sounds like something we may do when we come over New Years. Merci for your great videos.
Kir is delicious. It’s even better with a lemon twist.
Kir can be made very special by using champagne instead of white wine (I think that drink has a different name)
Kir Royal
Kir Royal was discussed at 3:53 😊
To see the three of you get tipsy is a hoot!
Santé !!!! I think the end of the day would be curious.
you can had some good things into your pastis, a "mauresque" ( ''orgeat sirup'', almond taste, si nice), or a " Peroquet" (mint sirup, very very refreshing). you can also replace water with cola, that's a ''Mazout" (I don't recommand at all).
for the "Kir", you must have a "Bourgogne alligoté". it was créated by a Dijon's deputy (named Kir) who want to sell the products of his land, if it's not a bourgogne wine, it can't be a ''Kir", it became " blanc-cassis " (or " Blancass ") (and "kir royal" is an aberration for bourguignons).
Loire valley Rosés are rarest, but so better.
ti-punch is very perfidious, I don't recommand it for an apéro.
absinthe and calvados are more a digestif than an apéritf.
salut et fraternité !
Merci!!
Oh my goodness! Had so much fun 😂with this video!! Love you guys!
We did too 🤪
I never heard of drinking Absinthe straight! I've only heard of it in a Sazarac and just a spritz!!! LOL
can tell they are brothers, great video, I'll take the beer!
Just brilliant)) I’m still laughing 😂
*5:27** We have the same tastes, Colleen!!! But I also love Kir Royal!* 🥂🫐🍾🍷
Champagne will always be my choice of aperitif- just wish it was more affordable but even so, it’s worth it! I wish I had been in the bar when you were trying all the drinks - you all had such a good time!
I was waiting to see the 3 of you stagger out of the bar at the end. 😂
we cut out this part of the rush... for some reason 😅
That looked like fun! The next time I come to France I want to meet up with you all because you really know how to share very interesting experiences 😊
WOW! You took several for the team!
🤣
Otherwise in Pastis you can add some syrup (with mint syrup it's called a "parrot", with grenadine (red fruits syrop) it's called a "tomato", or orgeat (almond syrup) called a "mauresque").
You have also a lot of wine based aperitifs as Pineau , Ambassadeur, Muscat, Byrrh, Vermouth... they are very sweet and tasty. After the grape harvest (september) at the first days of vinification, you can drink the"vin bourru", but it's very seasonal and local (south west of France) . There are so many local products... elsewhere than Paris....
Yes, you 're right
Just some info on the ti punch - it’s made from rum made in Martinique and Guadeloupe and the alcohol is like 55%. It’s missed with cane sugar syrup and a wedge of lime that you squeeze out the oil and juice.
You really must try Chartreuse , it IS excellent ! Specially la jaune because it is less strong then la verte.
I think la verte is the better one: la jaune is kind of shallow. After years of summer gin and tonics, I recently discovered chartreuse (verte) and tonic: best summer drink ever.
