I'm new to AOE 4 and this is the first time seeing a written build order. The visualization of both the video and the guide to follow along is super helpful! Your hardwork and dedication to teaching others is unmatched, thank you for the great guide!
Found your channel through the HRE Castle Rush Guide recently and figured you might have a Feudal Rush Guide for English too. Again a really nice video!
If you have forward gold you can optimize a bit your opening and send first new vil to sheeps and next 4 vils to the gold vein. Then you can build council hall and barracks on forward by those gold miners and have slightly better rush distance and timings overall
I just wanted to tell you that i really appreciate your channel. Very helpful and you have learned me even more than Beastyqt who was my previous favorite AOE4 teacher! Thank you :)
I have tried Aussy Drongo’s (which I feel works better for team games), I have tried BeastyQT’s which I have seen some success but this one seems a lot simpler. Soon I will be looking to learn other civs. But I am holding out for Byzantine because I am very excited.
Update and a question! I managed to get from platinum to diamond with your guides, awesome! I have a question though. When i use this feudal rush strategy, sometimes the opponents defend to well with army, walls, towers, and landmarks and i have a hard time doing any damage to them. What would you do in that situation? Tack från Sverige! :)
If opponent is turtling, consider either booming or going age 3 with Kings Palace and take relics. Those are your options if you can't do enough damage in feudal. One thing, that I think is fun to do, is on maps that have good trade posts (hill and dale, Altai,) you can add a single market, and go for a bit of extra eco (10 ish traders) while you build farms and go age 3 :)
Now my favorite TH-camr and Twitch stream for actually teaching how to play. Check him out on twitch if you can. He narrates what he is doing as he plays rather then just silence and hundreds of clicks per min.
great guide! but what if the enemy is playing mongols or malians, then i cant kill the villagers, because they are so close to the TC? i really struggle against them
is going the siege upgrade for your units to make rams worth? or is it better to go castle and fight there with the mass built up? Also is this Strat viable against rus and China? Just used this strat and almost beat a Conq 2 as a diamond 1. Great strat and video.
Hey Valdemar, love the guide! Its really helpful to listen to your decision making and as a newish player its helping me understand the choices to make and helping me and hopefully my opponent have a good and fun game. A vague question though depending on what civ you are playing but lets say youre opponent is English and their rushing spearmen and longbowmen. How would you counter before the English begin to snowball. E.g. if you were the Ottoman player how would you have countered your longbow and spear snowball machine
Nice guide! What do you do on maps where the wood line is less accessible than on this map (behind the TC)? Just pick a side and go either left or right around the TC?
The difference is in scaling. Going for early upgrades begins scaling earlier but at the cost of military units. More units early can get a lot of value but it is always a decision made on the matchup and your style :)
I used to not like aggressive play style prefering to boom and mass but i find i have absolutely no idea what to do in late game. If i don't win early i lose track of my economy as villagers idle everywhere.
The creativity has been crushed out of this game. Maybe that will change with new civs. I don’t really feel like paying money to find out. Especially after I’ve been forced to buy this game twice.
thanks for the guide valdemar, is going for sheeps even better than farms for english given that they have the bonuses (50% less wood cost for farms, 15% faster farm gathering rate)?
You use the sheep for as long as you can, slowly building farms. The idea is that you have more wood for military units and buildings in the early game.
Well you won’t always as you would scout the enemy to see what there building and he even says this and if that’s the case you go archers which have better range (english) and men at arms instead of spears
I would love to see a Bronze to Conq playthrough where you take each civ to conq and explain the thought process each player should have with base maintenance, and pressuring the opponent. PiG does something similar for SC2. I would love for a strong AoE4 player to fill this niche for this game! Great try in Call to Arms btw hope you continue to push hard! Here is a link to get a feel for what i mean. th-cam.com/video/Tr1_8C6CjMQ/w-d-xo.html
English is extremely broken, can you please do a guide how to defend such broken Strat? English can attack and age at the same time. I can defend against this but that just means late game as Chinese I am too bruised to come back. My castle and and imperial timing will be off and then English will have another massive army that I will not be able to defend in late game
i had the same problems a while ago but watched a few guides. what worked out for me (in gold league) is to scout the feudal landmark. if they build the hall you know whats coming. then i build a stable to pick off the first lb‘s with horsemen. if i see a barracks then i mix in archers or few men at arms (as hre for example). what i still cant comprehend is that english is still vers op that they can push and going castle almost at the same time, and if you counterpush they chill under white tower and farme and mass crossbow men at arms… that sucks if you picked up the first lbs with horsemen, go straight to their base and harrass them
@@JaviA777 thanks I got to plat 3 already, but English still feels OP even after beating their long bow rush, because their eco is so strong even if I kill off their offensive, many times my eco would be behind.
Why would you make a barracks so fast when you do not even know if he will build horsemen? Isn't it better to invest into farms and only build it if needed?
Delete this. Or make a video countering this specific build. I know you already have an English counter video, but this is 40 units @ 10 minutes. Bruh.

Glad it works out for you!
I have played since the premiere and have seen some content creators and while I watch Beasty the most I think that Vald makes the best guides.

Dang Valdemar is putting out some real fun builds!

Have patience in those games and build a tower for NoC buff. Then when you feel it is right, you can go castle or do rams :)
@@Valdemar1902 meanwhile i am getting attacked with stronger horseman and also archer 😅 thats why i am looking for good tactics
100% using this to get to diamond

I have an older video on this called “counter the english”
Awesome build order!

How does this compare to beasty's (slower) 2 early farm build?
I guess he favored some researches over more longbows if I am not mistaken.
The difference is in scaling. Going for early upgrades begins scaling earlier but at the cost of military units. More units early can get a lot of value but it is always a decision made on the matchup and your style :)
Thinking about switching from beasty strategy to this one.
You are a MENACE
(Takes notes)

I recommend watching pro players play lategame then!
Brace yourself brothers, english in 4/5 games incoming
The creativity has been crushed out of this game. Maybe that will change with new civs. I don’t really feel like paying money to find out. Especially after I’ve been forced to buy this game twice.
So after I age up I get lost if my feudal rush fails . My opponent always makes it to castle before me.
Very good, i'll try this!

What if they play china and spam men at arms. They counter both your archers and spearmen, no?
Yay new guide!
shouldn't you start building rams at some point or you keep pressuring with high unit count?
You could, but castling is better if you find yourself in a position to go for rams.
guys who wants to deffend, just go mass normal archers and u will delete this attack
Well you won’t always as you would scout the enemy to see what there building and he even says this and if that’s the case you go archers which have better range (english) and men at arms instead of spears

I will look into it :)
One question: Do you use separate hotkey groups for archers and spearmen?
Yes, of course! Reference my hotkey guide for keybinds :)
Do you have a fast castle build?
How to counter? Would love to see the counter video as well 😅
I already have a video on how to counter the english on my channel :)
What do you do if the enemy starts going samurai in feudal (so then your archers don't do much)?
Longbows have one more damage then normal archers, so you should be more than capable to deal with MAA in feudal with Blacksmith upgrades(!)
@@Valdemar1902 thanks! What's your favorite civ to play right now?

Haha I remember my mongol friend asked you to coach him for help against my English a few weeks ago.
This was my exact build 😂😂😂
Hopefully he has been beating you since then hehe
Can't wait to kick all this early longbows outa town😅
Id like to see the games where you lose and you explain why
This strat still viable after the sultans dlc or?
Yes :)
Why would you make a barracks so fast when you do not even know if he will build horsemen? Isn't it better to invest into farms and only build it if needed?
Most will build horseman to counter.
if they surpise you with horseman you will lose all your archers and lose the game
Does it work for team games?
I would say for games where everyone goes aggro yes, but 2v2 is probably it
@@Valdemar1902 tack
Does this still work?
Yes
Trying to ruin the ranked ladder bro???
Yeah ruining your silver ranked game
Time to step up your game!
Damn it valdemar, you ruined the game again
Hm, let me go fix it quick
Still living and breathing in this joke of a game ^^ Try touching grass
