I purchased a Kindle Paperwhite in early 2020 and have loved it, but I must confess that I'm tempted to purchase this new Signature Edition. I don't usually purchase new tech until I have to, so this is a want and not a need. Still... it's undeniably tempting.
I think the signature edition brings in enough features that warrant an upgrade from the 2020 model. The larger screen and warm temperature features alone are great, amongst the other feature that come with the signature edition like wireless charging for an example
Another outstanding review, concise and easy to understand. Bought kids edition last year during Black Friday. Last month when Signature went on sale for $135 it was just a no brainer. No ads , 32 g and warm and automatic lighting.
Wonderful follow-up video. Thanks. I agree with everything you said about the bigger screen and warm light. I’ve had the Kindle PW5 standard edition for about six months or so and love it!! It’s a perfect reading device for my older eyes and a no nonsense approach to technology. I just want a device I can read on and that’s what the kindle delivers. When the new kindle basic came out some people were happy about the smaller form factor and weight of it compared to PW5. I wanted to see what it was like to go back to a 6 inch screen so I traded with my daughter for one week with her PW4 I gave her when I got the 5. I set a goal of one week of no switching back. I read every night in bed. It was just a terrible experience!!!!!! The blue light hurt my eyes more and that smaller screen just killed the reading experience. I’ve read on the PW4 kindle for years and no problems but now I need that warm light and extra screen real estate. Now I don’t travel for work or hardly much at all. If I was a commuter/biker/hiker I’d prefer the smaller screen of the basic (2022) it would be a great traveling kindle.
I have bought the iPad mini 6, also after watching your review of it, and I really tried anything I could to make sure I can read books on it - played with the different settings, tried a matte display folio, wore only my glasses instead of contact lenses. But none of these really helped with the eyes fatigue caused after reading on the screen. That is pity because I love the iPad’s functionality. I think I will have to switch to the kindle instead.
I just purchased the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition. Thank you so much for your review. I was hesitant, but I'm a ferocious reader and your review really helped.
I recently received the Paperwhite (standard version) as a gift . I love it, but what I really wish is that Amazon would come out with a smaller version of it. The new Kindle basic almost does that like you said. It's more comfortable to hold for me. I do love some of the extra features the Paperwhite has and it is fast in it's processing. All in all I think either version of the Paperwhite is going to be highly satisfying for most everyone.
Warm light & wide screen size are the best! Your kindle reviews help me to decide between kindle 2022 and kindle paper white 11th gen and I bought the PPW 11th gen., reading experience in this device is super satisfying. Thank you for your detailed and honest reviews
I have had the paper white signature about 2 months. I had an older paper white for 7 years before this one. I love it. I read about 4-5 hours a day so the charge lasts me about 5 days but it’s so fast to charge it’s not a problem. The only thing that annoys me is the glare at times. I love my paper white.
I bprchaed my first Kindle Paperwhite June 2021. I enjoyed it. When Amazon announced the release of the Kindle Paperwhite SE was going to release Oct 2021. I couldn’t resist and I traded in my Kindle for the latest Kindle Paperwhite. I’m even happier. There’s just many reasons why I enjoy reading with a Kindle vs a real book. Gotta go now my book is calling me.
Do you think the Oasis 4 might still be released this year? It's almost mid-November. If they don't announce it or release it early next week, it's tough to believe it will be released this year.
Amazon did plan on releasing all new kindles by end of year, but due to factory closings in China they’ve delayed the Oasis launch till next year. Even the upcoming Scribe is slightly delayed
I love my Paperwhite Signature but it is definitely a noticeable size difference than the 2018 PW. The screen also seems softer as the device has developed quite a few scratches in a short period of time. Vs My 2018 PW which seems rugged and has survived many many years without any scratches.
Hi ! Thank you so much for this detailed review. I would like to buy either this kindle signature edition which looks really great or the oasis kindle …and I wondering which one to choose… what will be your best choice according to you and your both experience … I had so far a kindle voyage that I like very much ( I offered it to my mother 😊 ) .. Is there a big difference between both regarding design and reading experience ? oasis has physical buttons and paperwhite not .. is it a big deal for you ? Thank you so much for your kind answer and your great videos ! Have a nice day 😊 Valerie
Hi. What about the brightness auto adjustment? Is it a factory preset or I can set the basic value and then it adjusts depending on current external light intensity? Is it really working? I don't care about wireless charging (incredible waste of power, ca 15% efficiency) and 16GB but I'd be willing to pay more for the auto brightness? What is your experience here?
Faiz, can you tell me, please, is it difficult to transfer books from a laptop to Kindle? I'm not from the US and I won't buy books from Amazon. I search books on Internet and download them. And no one reviews that one issue that bothers me. I like a form factor of Kindle, but can I transfer books from my library on the device? Like I do it on my PocketBook?
Thanks for your thoughts on using a case. I have a case on mine but would love to use without. I found that the fingerprints were annoying so put a case on. I might try again and try to ignore the fingerprints! I’d be interested to know what others do, case or no case?
You might want to try Moko Case Fit 6.8 Paper White. Fits on like a phone case with a clear backing and edge protection. I am using it for my new signature.
I have the kindle paper white 10th gen just asking for the 11 gen today Christmas Eve love that it’s bigger and a bigger display on it and the warm light we’ll help
The Kindle 11 would be perfect if it had the warm light and had buttons. In other words, it should be a Nook GlowLight 4... which is one of my favorite e-readers out of my collection of e-readers.
Just got my new paperwhite signature edition today and am liking the larger screen and light features already! My only complaint is I am noticing when reading outside there appears to be 2 shaded pencil like marks behind the text. It is like that whichever book I open. Is this normal?
Hi, how is the back after a year since you mention that you didnt use cover? Does the rubbery coating get peeled? Also are the smudges easy to clean with water or lcd cleaner? I also dont like the bulky cover and maybe i will get a pouch and a back strap instead..
Hey there! The rubbery coating has not peeled at all. It does get a lot of smudges however which I clean with a damp cloth. Amazon just recently announced the Paperwhite in blue and green colors which will be perfect to use without a case as those colors wont show dirt or smudges. The black gets dirty very quickly
I just purchased a kindle paper white signature and it says it has 26.77 GB NOT 32 GB as advertised. Would be nice to know why?! 🤷🏼♀️ Does anyone know?
I loved my Kindle Paperwhite Signature edition. Sadly, it just died on me and it's out of warranty. Spoke to Amazon, they were willing to offer me 20% off a new purchase. Deciding on which Kindle to get now
sorry, but has he really pointed out that the increased led lights allow for the user to read in direct sunlight? This is not a cellphone, you should be able to read even better without the leds on in direct sunlight. What am I missing here?
Because the screens on e-readers are totally different technology to your tablet. They are like reading an actual book and can be used outdoors with the built in light switched off. They also have incredible battery life as the screen only uses power when the image changes and what's on there will remain visible indefinitely even without any power.
You're right. The extra lights make the lighting more even and maybe a little brighter, but you don't use lights in sunlight. In fact, you can have the entire unit turned off and there will be a bright image in full sunlight.

Thank you Jon!
It's on sale again for 130! I bought two during the last sale (one for me and my brother), so I got an extra $20 off.
I had the Kindle Paperwhite 10 for about 3 years and just upgraded to the 11 SE recently. The warm temperature and auto brightness is a game-changing

I am even struggling for 45mins.. I am new to reading so my first kindle pw se was just 3 days with me.

Well the 11th gen kindle charge with the MagSafe Apple duo charger?

What is the diff between signature edition and paperwhite? Which one is recommended?
I love mine! I have others Kindles and another Paperwhite, but this one is by far the best!
The Kindle 11 would be perfect if it had the warm light and had buttons. In other words, it should be a Nook GlowLight 4... which is one of my favorite e-readers out of my collection of e-readers.

Can you disable touchscreen like in Oasis?

@@FaizAly Thanks bro. I had the PW, but is the basic 2022 more clear/crisp under the sunlight?
Can it read pdf? 'Cause I want to buy one and I have some pdf book
It looks like it can pair with buds. Can you download and listen to audio books?
Yes if you have them via audible
Can you charge it with the plug wire that comes in the box? Haven’t got mine yet
Yes you can

Unfortunately, the firmware takes up some of the gb.

Paperwhite is still the best - I recommend going back to one
Thanks for the reply. I was thinking about the scribe, but after watching your video I’m going to opt for a paperwhite. Keep up the great content!
sorry, but has he really pointed out that the increased led lights allow for the user to read in direct sunlight? This is not a cellphone, you should be able to read even better without the leds on in direct sunlight. What am I missing here?
Sorry if this sounds stupid, but why can't i just use a tablet and use kindle app on it? Why buy an entirely new device just for reading?
Because the screens on e-readers are totally different technology to your tablet. They are like reading an actual book and can be used outdoors with the built in light switched off. They also have incredible battery life as the screen only uses power when the image changes and what's on there will remain visible indefinitely even without any power.
Hi, thanks for the helpful video. Can you take notes on this version?
You can type notes in after highlighting a section of text. No pen support. That’s the Kindle Scribe.
What wireless charger are you using
ESR wireless charger!
Does this version have ad or no ad? I’m trying to purchase my first kindle and this video was so helpful!
With ads!
The Signature Edition does not come with ads. The standard paperwhite does with the option to pay an extra $20 to have them removed.
Love the aesthetics
4:19 doesn't even makes sense, you don't need the brightness at all to read under the sun.
You're right. The extra lights make the lighting more even and maybe a little brighter, but you don't use lights in sunlight. In fact, you can have the entire unit turned off and there will be a bright image in full sunlight.
Nice review bro
Thanks, good review. PS The right side pillow on the couch was not lined-up with the frame.
Hear me out- clear back case and a pop socket
I can’t argue with that ☺️
