The tropicana getting taken out is the last nail in the coffin for the strip for me. My last 3 stays on the strip were awful. Huge lines, bad service, people fighting, mediocre food for ridiculous prices. The vibes feel like Hollywood now. It's not fun. Downtown is where it's at now for me.
@@karlmuckit2968I agree. If I were visiting Las Vegas in the next 3 months I would make it a PRIORITY to see Dita Von Teese’s Burlesque show at the Venetian!!! My wife and I saw her show when she was performing at the Horseshoe’s Jubilee Theatre April 2024. It was SUCH a Top Tier performance, we had to see it twice!!! MUST SEE !!
Oh wow, the PBR! That brings back so many memories. I live in the UK but we came to vegas for the first time in 2007. I have no idea why we went to see the PBR, but I'm glad we did. We had such a good night! It felt very American haha
I can’t believe people (including casinos) don’t understand the up and down in revenue: Revenue was drastically down during COVID (duh), and recovered afterward. The worrisome thing is, even with pent up demand (from covid), it appears that revenue has not caught up with pre-COVID levels. One would expect the last two years to be supercharged, and now slacking off - but thats not the case. It’s been good the last two years, but not (given pent up demand), good enough. Whatever the casinos think they are doing to raise demand- it’s not working.
Casinos got greedy. Pure and simple. The new slot machines rob you of your money and do not pay. 6/5 blackjack is robbery. Triple 0 roulette is deceptive. The casinos forgot a primary rule- the players need to win sometime, to keep coming back. No more!

My mama and auntie went to Vegas. Auntie got money and said she didn't spend much. She spent more than $10,000 in the 4 nights they stayed there. I got a damn good job but I can't come close to that.
I go to Vegas every year for a week. I bring roughly 12k with me to gamble and have fun. Its getting to the point Id rather just travel elsewhere ie Europe, Caribbean, national parks ect because of all the nickel and diming that's happing. This is probably my last time for awhile. Also, there are no circus circus fans.
My wife and I last visited LV in 1988 when many old Vegas hotels were still standing. We always wanted to visit Vegas again but living here in the East makes it impossible. But, we are still planning on visiting Vegas. Most likely after we retire and move out West. Subscribed.
I have seen several comments in other videos about LV. The complaints were around the fact that they had won jackpots of thousands of dollars. When the machines announced a winner casino goons would rush the machines unplug them telling the winners the slot machine had malfunctioned. There are dozens of stories like this. At one time I was interested to go there but not now. The fees and the cheating people out of winnings turned me off.
We went in the 80's when it was still affordable! My fathers generation had the best time though! Back then it was a magical place in the 60's.The best shows and incredible buffets! Most times the hotels included the buffets, and they gave you coupons for the other casinos. It was still affordable in the 80's and then they started to gauge everything!! They are so greedy and have really earned the name of "sin city"! Show tickets at the lower end are in the hundreds of dollars and thousands in the high end!! If I go to a casino now,it won't be Las Vegas!! I would support the Indian run ones! Though it's still expensive you don't feel as robbed! And I like the idea of supporting all the Tribes. BOYCOTT LOS VEGAS NOW AND TRUST ME THAT THEY DON'T LIKE TO LOSE THEIR MONEY! SOMETHING HAS GOT TO CHANGE BECAUSE ONCE THEY FEEL THE" PINCH" MAYBE THINGS WILL CHANGE!! The loss in gambling revenue comes as no surprise. It costs a lot to get there, to stay there and to eat there, there's little left to do something so frivolous as GAMBLE. You might win some money, but probably not. You WILL see new things and enjoy yourself without it.

Don't EVER gamble on the strip. Go to a local casino. Rule of thumb from a local, the further you away you are from the strip, the better chance you gave going home with some cash!
I've been checking and have found Vegas hotel rooms are much cheaper than NYC rooms and NYC rooms are tiny and old... I aint gonna gripe about Vegas resorts, anymore. Now, those celebrity chef restaurants, we are still on!!
NYC prior to the migrant invasion, was amazing. The food, history, culture and sightseeing opportunities were unparalleled. All the Strip has going for it is…hotels and casinos with celebrity owned restaurants 🤷🏼♀️
I agree 100%! I don’t gamble so I can spend more on other stuff. When I go now, I m all about the celeb chefs expensive cocktails, nice rooms and a decent lounge chair at the pool! I drink all day pacing myself and have a blast!
Whenever I talk to people about Vegas, the first thing that comes up is how expensive it is now. I don’t go cheap in Vegas i.e. hotels, restaurants, but it is getting ridiculous. Hate the ever increasing resort fees, parking costs, etc.
We'll be in Vegas in a couple of weeks, our last was in 2021. Been there a few times in the past, early 2000s, when everything was cheap with food, hotel, 1/2 off show tickets. We don't gamble, we're there just to see the sights esp the newest casino/attractions and usually we go to Chinatown or other places outside of the strip for good cheap eats. This time we're staying in a resort a mile away from the strip, reasonable nightly price & free parking. We do what we can to cut cost.
I was there in Feb. it was odd to see the casinos as empty as they were. Whole pits here and there with nobody playing. Every previous trip Ive been on had much more traffic inside the casinos. Not so many closed tables.
Gone are the days when you would hear all the machines and the coins dropping and people rooting for each other and the joyous screams when they win. To come home and share their joyous experience to friends and neighbors. Now....Yes it was fun and beautiful but expensive is what you hear.
I was at FB during CES… there was 18 staff members for every person in the lobby… No joke. The rest of the hotel was dead with a few people here and there. It’s a nice hotel, but damn, CES was across the street and the hotel was practically empty
Used to go to Vegas every year. Haven’t been in 4 years. Tried to book a trip this month (back in early September) and the price was ridiculous. We’re going to NYC instead and it’s actually cheaper. Vegas got greedy… and although I do miss going there, there are so many other places and things to see. I doubt I’ll go in the future given that t can go to Seattle, DC, NYC, and a dozen other places that don’t try to rip you off so much.
It's not the same out here. I live here in 2017 to 2019. I. The weekends the strip was packed. I just moved back in June n it's dead . Prices are ridiculous. 20 bucks to park. 45 valet. Come on if I pay ur resort fee wtf I gotta pay 20 for parking each night . I pray things get better .
Not surprised about the drop in revenues..surprised it wasn't sooner..for the last few year's, people have been going into debt to vacation..not smart..but..this tells you the economic condition of the county. Vegas has gotten too expensive and not everything needs to be a luxury mega resort. Eventually it ends and I'm hoping this starts the end of the "new" and much less improved Vegas!!
It'll never happen. look at the car industry. They have absolutely refused to reasonably price vehicles for the last 3 years and they're not budging this year either. I saw GM light pickups priced at $45-50K and you don't even get a V6 or V8 with them! Saw Honda Accords priced at $45-50K. Toyota full size SUVS went as high as $65K. Despicable. And the stealerships are NOT selling cars. This year so far, I have seen only three of the Ford Maverick trucks, which Ford's CEO claimed was going to "revolutionize the market for affordable trucks." Nope. The customers are walking away from deals because every stealership slaps them with a $4,000 markup when their custom truck finally arrives. Of course the customers got angry and walked off. The trucks just rot away on the lots. And that's just one small part of the economy. Housing is out of control with prices double and TRIPLING. Yes, my parent's old house was put on the market last year and the person they sold it to wanted THREE times what it was worth. It isn't even 990 sq feet and the owner wanted over $300K for it! I doubt it sold.
@@largol33t1 Nobody wants all the Y fi in the cars either. Radiation exposure too great. We hate the auto shut off at stop lights, we hate the push button start, we hate the LED blinding lights.
I get revamping old casinos for new...but with all the new added stuff...the TMobile Arena, Allegiant Stadium, The Sphere, F1 and now baseball stadium all right on the strip...I am disappointed. It just all drives up the cost. I refuse to buy drinks and meals on the strip anymore...unless its a good value. I use to go once a year now its more every 3 yrs.
Thanks, most of the major resort pools will be closed, but many resorts leave one of their pools open all year. We suggest that you call the resort and ask them directly.
Well i just got back from a 5 day stay. The place was packed with visitors. I’ve never seen so many people. As far as i can see people are still going. It was fall break for the college kids and they were there by the thousands. I saw no signs of a slowdown.
Look I was over it when casinos took away the tips for valet. I have tipped $20-30 per visit. Knowing that goes straight to the casinos and not the valets? Nope. I’ll stay in my bubble by my home.
I won't go there again. I will stick with Reno or Tahoe. Much more beautiful ❤️. Vegas is okay if you are being paid to promote or being compensated but for a "regular"person...forget it. I was a bartender and NEVER could consciously charge $55.00/$65.00 for a drink. Complete rip off 🤬🤬🤬
Born and raised here in Vegas, and it has gone downhill. Not only did the housing prices skyrocket recently, which led to many of my neighbors relocating, the strip is not only dirty and run-down with homeless people and drug addicts everywhere, everything is too expensive to bother dealing with all the traffic that leads to - overly expensive parking lots. I stay on my side of town up in Summerlin and stick to places like the Red Rock casino and regular restaurants. (Not to mention the ridiculous non-stop road work that doesn’t seem to actually progress at all, but makes the traffic and attitudes worse down that way.) Debating whether to sell my property and escape, or keep it as a rental… and escape.
I’ve been going to the Mississippi Coast instead and here’s why; Free Parking, better comps, great food, and it’s way cheaper especially for Gas. I pay $2.50 a gallon here versus about $4 in Vegas.
Ohhh please. That is part of the old Vegas. Drinking and smoking and enjoying yourself. I'm tired of people infringing on others rights. Go somewhere else if you don't like it.
Wheather is perfect? Plesase! The past 10 days in October 2024, the temperature in Las Vegas has been over 100 degrees, I have never seen this in Las Vegas in the month of October.

That’s a great question! While there were not official public viewing areas, many people in Vegas were on the streets to watch the show from a distance beyond the blocked off areas. We actually live-streamed the event and had a great time. If you are interested, here is the link to our livestream: th-cam.com/users/livezeYvtJJcBos
I used to love going to Vegas. It’s only a 5 hour drive away, but after my last visit I don’t see a reason go back anytime soon. When the resort fees are higher than price of the room itself and the fun buffets all but gone, there is no reason for me to stop. If i just wanted to gamble, i can stay in mesquite for less than the Vegas resort fees
Tanya would you please tell me when F1 stands and construction is usually cleaned up? By December? We would like to visit when all of F1 is gone. Thanks!❤❤❤❤🎉🎉
If someone is staying at a property and paying the ridiculous resort fees then the parking should be included not added on even if you don’t have a higher player status that provides free parking. The comp situation is getting sad too. They are raising requirements to get less perks for each level of status.
I hate what Vegas has turned into. I can't understand why anyone goes. The reason people used to go was to go and play the slots and gamble and enjoy cheap eats. Now it is just a playground for the uber rich. No thanks.
Turning the greatest adult oasis in the world into Disneyland with gambling , add themany ridiculous fees and greatly increase in prices from bottled water to entertainment is hurting the middle class desire to travel to Vegas. Add more crime in and out of casino, more vagrant interference to visitors. We used to go 2-3 times a year taking advantage of great MLife rewards The reward programs are no way nea that good today. So, it is not a surprise visitors don’t have the funds to gamble and revenue is down. It was great fun while it lasted (40+ visits) but it is over for us .
The Rio is becoming a money pit. Investment in that hole is just plain stupid. They have no plan and no clue. What was probably THE THING the Rio was most famous for? Maybe back in the day, the waitresses, but later....THE BUFFET. Yet these idiots could not be bothered to bring it back. Instead, thy created a food court and filled it with overpriced, underwhelming eateries. Their games are sup par even for the strip and abysmal compared to offerings at local casinos. They don't market to locals despite being in an IDEAL location for such casinos.

Yeah only demolishing stuff and replacing is all they can do. Also the fact they demolished and Rivera Monaco and nothing is there is also concerning
Stayed at Flamingo my last visit, what a shit hole, tried the Linq even worse. What's happening to my favorite town.
@@karlmuckit2968I agree. We just stayed a week at the Flamingo and it took nearly an hour to get our room, the room we booked with the strip view wasn’t available, half the things in the room went serviceable, a lot of times the elevator or hot water wasn’t available. Would not recommend unless you just want a convenient location right off the strip.
@@Nytemaster You haven't heard the worst of it, Our car was stolen out of the Parking Garage while we were moving our luggage to our room. They had it all on video. Vegas P D worthless as they are did nothing.
The arts district was fun to me
I lived in Las Vegas for 20yrs. Left there 5 years ago. It is not the same city I loved so much. I can’t get over how much it’s changed in 5yrs. Kinda sad. 😢
💥👋🏾It was great meeting you in person while grocery shopping today Tanya, and taking the time to answer my youtube questions. You guys rock 💯💜‼
It was great meeting you as well, thanks! ❤️
No more!
❤❤❤ Wow, 1st time here, you packed so much information in a short amount of time. Thank you for being so efficient with my time watching your video. I know this was alot of research via gathering clips and talking points. You got a new follower here!! 🙏 tyty
You are so welcome and welcome aboard! We are looking forward to sharing more about Las Vegas with you.
Love you and Dave!! Thank you for another wonderful video
Thanks so much Timothy! Your support means a lot to us!!
Thank you Tanya. You have a great voice and so informative.☺
My mama and auntie went to Vegas. Auntie got money and said she didn't spend much. She spent more than $10,000 in the 4 nights they stayed there. I got a damn good job but I can't come close to that.
I love that roller skating is making a come back, I seriously need to get back in shape soon!
Hey-hey! Lots of info you covered it well. 😊
Thanks so much, your support means a lot to us!
Thanks for the detailed updates.
Las Vegas is extremely arrogant smug and narcissistic and doesn’t give a crap on what the locals thinks about the formula one mess
Always great videos! I have been MIA on YT over the summer but fall is here and I will be following my favorite YTers again.
I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT I REFUSE TO PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS JUST TO SEE A SHOW OR EAT!!TRY THE TRIBAL CASINOS, AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU ARE HELPING THE TRUE AMERICANS!
Thanks for the updates.
Halloween - have no idea what you two are planning to wear but I'm sure it will be awesome!!
Don't remember Mark Wahlberg being in NKOTB. I remember him as Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch (Good Vibrations). Can't get that song out of my head now
Ocean One - heard the prices are going up from $5.99 to $7.99. Still a good buy.
Thanks for sharing your memories about Marky Mark! 😂😂😂 We are looking forward to Halloween!!
It was his older brother Donnie who was in NKOTB.
The loss in gambling revenue comes as no surprise. It costs a lot to get there, to stay there and to eat there, there's little left to do something so frivolous as GAMBLE. You might win some money, but probably not. You WILL see new things and enjoy yourself without it.
Thanks for sharing. It will be interesting to see if the trend continues.
I’m stuck in Australia pining endlessly for Vegas so love keeping up on as much over there as possible, and this was a great in-depth video for doing just that. Subscribed! 🩷✨

Last time I was in Las Vegas for 5 days and NEVER GOT ONE FREE DRINK
That’s crazy, were you playing slots and, if so, at what casinos?
You have to be at the tables hahaha. Nobody is just gonna come up to you randomly and offer you free stuff.

Every time I’m at the downtown grand I get free drinks playing the machines, they come up and ask if I want one. The last time I was at ceaser palace I paid 85$ for a tequila sunrise and double Hennessy

The extra fees are the reason for a lot of people not wanting to go
We'll be there tonight thru Sunday! Hope to find you out there, wandering the Strip!
Go to Fremont street better than the strip by far.. I recommend golden nugget stay the pool is amazeing glass waterslide thru glass fish tank

Remember $2.99 buffet and $29.00 a night rooms 🤦♂️ there is no doing vegas on a budget anymore!

@@mamabar6811NYC has been invaded by Migrants for 200 years. what a silly thing to say.
I agree 100%! I don’t gamble so I can spend more on other stuff. When I go now, I m all about the celeb chefs expensive cocktails, nice rooms and a decent lounge chair at the pool! I drink all day pacing myself and have a blast!
Good luck out there, we have local casinos here Only a few miles away
thanks for the great vids and the beat VEGAS info !!
Whenever I talk to people about Vegas, the first thing that comes up is how expensive it is now.
I don’t go cheap in Vegas i.e. hotels, restaurants, but it is getting ridiculous. Hate the ever increasing resort fees, parking costs, etc.
I'll still go to Las Vegas. Research is everything. There's more than the strip to have fun, and I feel safe because I pay attention. 🎉🎉🎉❤🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for sharing! After the Super Bowl (which was a great two weeks!), it was definitely a slow period on the Strip.
Cool, going to Vegas this month October
That’s great! We hope that you have an amazing trip to Las Vegas! Thank you for watching!!

Billy Joel over rated.
Last time I was in Vegas Rio was a dump

I'm taking a friend of mine from Somalia down there in early November, the 3rd-5th, Do you think any of the pools may still be open around that time?
Thanks, most of the major resort pools will be closed, but many resorts leave one of their pools open all year. We suggest that you call the resort and ask them directly.
The Venetian leaves one of their pools open all year round. I swam there this year at the end of January and it was just wonderful.
@@TurnItUpWorld thank you for the advice.

Have you been to Discoshow at the Linq? So much fun, you will really believe you can boogie
We just celebrated our 30th anniversary, we were married in the chapel in Circus Circus ☺️so I’m glad it’s still there.
Well i just got back from a 5 day stay. The place was packed with visitors. I’ve never seen so many people. As far as i can see people are still going. It was fall break for the college kids and they were there by the thousands. I saw no signs of a slowdown.
Great stuff
Look I was over it when casinos took away the tips for valet. I have tipped $20-30 per visit. Knowing that goes straight to the casinos and not the valets? Nope. I’ll stay in my bubble by my home.
I won't go there again. I will stick with Reno or Tahoe. Much more beautiful ❤️. Vegas is okay if you are being paid to promote or being compensated but for a "regular"person...forget it. I was a bartender and NEVER could consciously charge $55.00/$65.00 for a drink. Complete rip off 🤬🤬🤬
You have to be kidding! Reno is a complete dump compared to Vegas.
And yet, people still come to Vegas!!
@@m.reynolds9663 They still come but are spending less. The drop in casino revenue confirms that.
Go to nashville
Vegas is just a huge expensive mall, and it like walking at Disneyland. Vegas is gone they need to rename it.
Perfect description. I said the same thing to my mom the other day. I told her she would hate it.
Disneyegas.
I wonder if the ground will still smell like cigarette smoke if they doze Circus Circus away?
Ohhh please. That is part of the old Vegas. Drinking and smoking and enjoying yourself. I'm tired of people infringing on others rights. Go somewhere else if you don't like it.
Your aware of a $400.00 r/t charge or greater for the LA - Vegas Brite line trip. I think thats going to be a hard sell in the now !
Thanks for sharing, yes, that might be a hard sell!

Wheather is perfect? Plesase! The past 10 days in October 2024, the temperature in Las Vegas has been over 100 degrees, I have never seen this in Las Vegas in the month of October.

And the Crue in March and April. But I’m sure you left them out deliberately.
how was anyone able to see the drone show if there was no viewing area and spectators were forbidden in the area?
That’s a great question! While there were not official public viewing areas, many people in Vegas were on the streets to watch the show from a distance beyond the blocked off areas. We actually live-streamed the event and had a great time. If you are interested, here is the link to our livestream: th-cam.com/users/livezeYvtJJcBos

Will the luxor and Excalibur both be sold?
We don’t know, but one thing is for sure and that is Vegas is constantly changing!

I stopped gambling when I noticed the bonus rounds on slots dropper significantly. It seems that should be revealed by the gaming commission
Lol, the "gaming commission" are the mafioso owners of the hotels. Don't be fooled.
Keep up those resort fees and 100.00 buffets. Sitting here thinking n Nashville partying!
Have fun!😀
If someone is staying at a property and paying the ridiculous resort fees then the parking should be included not added on even if you don’t have a higher player status that provides free parking. The comp situation is getting sad too. They are raising requirements to get less perks for each level of status.
Thanks for sharing, paid parking is frustrating for sure especially when paying higher resort fees!

Vegas is going to be a totally different vibe soon
It already is.
I hate what Vegas has turned into. I can't understand why anyone goes. The reason people used to go was to go and play the slots and gamble and enjoy cheap eats. Now it is just a playground for the uber rich. No thanks.
Thanks, you can still find cheap spots, but it’s tougher!
Finally, someone you can hook up with, Weird Al is somebody u can relate too.
Same here. 3-4 times per year. Not anymore. No desire to go at all.
The Rio laid off those employees like days after the Star Trek Convention. 😮💨
Ughh, sorry to hear that. Thanks for sharing.
I meant your RV Life channel, Letsturnitupworld. 😊👍🏼
