I live in Anchorage, Alaska and visited Vegas every year for over 20 years, from 1998 to 2021. My wife and I would spend 7-10 days every winter, usually in December or January, always looking forward to it and always enjoying it. A great break from the long winters in Alaska. However, we watched it change too much, all for the worse, and haven’t returned in several years. The homeless/drug addicts/panhandler/hooker problem that has always existed has grown to an absolute nightmare situation. The once cheap, highly affordable dinners and buffets have become a thing of the past and room rates at all but the flea pit motels have climbed exponentially. Vegas has lost its luster. We now spend a couple weeks each winter visiting some of the larger Native American casinos in the south and southwest and are having much more fun.

Agreed. I'm glad to have enjoyed Las Vegas back in the 80's and 90's. I have been back a few times in this century (I know LOL; I'm not a spring chicken). To me, that was the fun of Vegas; finding free and/or cheap food and drinks, real one penny slots, and themed hotels. Back then, there were only a few super fancy resorts. I enjoy "turn it up world" with entertaining and thought-provoking content.
I stayed at the Signature MGM 2 weeks ago. I had to rent a car for business. Never again. Driving was a nightmare. Detours everywhere, traffic everywhere. It took me a hour to find an entrance to the hotel. It's a good thing I am not a nervous driver. It was death defying!
The I-15 has been under perpetual construction for 25 years and you need Formula 1 driving skills because they change the traffic pattern every couple days
The biggest thing that hurts Vegas with International travellers is the increase in nickel-and-dime costs from food to hotel to entertainment. I went there in September and a Starbucks Medium Vanilla Latte was $12 USD on the strip. Back home in Canada, it's about $6-7 CAD. So if a Canadian were to do the exchange with how crappy our dollar is right now, that would cost $17 CAD. That is absolutely nuts. Then you factor in the price for food on the strip which is $20+. The Miracle Mile Mall had some cheaper food prices and I'm sure it would be cheaper off the strip but then you would be paying for a cab/uber/lyft to go eat off the strip which could yield the same or more.
Yep - Gotten to the point where it's not worth it anymore. Las Vegas is fun, but if you have been there a bunch of times time to look at other options. Last time I was there a bottle of Coke, that you get from a vending machine for $2-3 was $7 USD. Not worth it anymore.
Hope people realize that this dumpster of a city is not worth visiting it’s become a none value waste of money and time. People are getting robbed at machines that casinos won’t pay the food and drinks are outrageously overpriced ~ stay away.

We normally go 3-4 times per year but because a of F1 we have avoided it during set up and tear down, which of course was our favorite time of year to go. I truly hope they get rid of it, or move it to the speedway. I’ve not heard one single positive thing about it.
Economics 101: the more $ people have in their pockets, the more they spend. Exorbitant resort fees are stealing guests money and they’re not gambling as much. Add the ridiculous ways the house is increasing its odds, and it’s enough to sway many people to do other things rather than donate $ to the casinos. Resort fees are a scam. Stay at a non-resort fee and send the message to these major corporations that enough is enough.

Hi Tanya and Dave, I love your Public Service Announcement! Whenever John Sr., and I go we'll be in the knowledge! You two are really...THE BEST COUPLE IN THE WORLD! 🌍
What brings people to spend money is comps. If casinos would start giving better comps again like free buffet, buy one get one meal coupons, free room stays, then people would patronize the casinos. Also, get rid of resort fees and have better hospitality.
Thanks for the updates. Definitely think Jose Andres prices will increase once they move. Before retiring I used to love to visit LV for my birthday when it landed on friday as it would be a long weekend with Veteran's Day on monday. Not this year but still planning some fun with my family friday.
First time I went to Las Vegas was around 1997. I enjoyed it. I love the fact that there were so many interesting things to do that we’re free our low cost. But over the years culminating in 2008, Las Vegas changed for the worst. Each year the free or inexpensive things to do disappeared. The good deals like on buffets were no longer available. A trip to Las Vegas cost about the same as going to New York City.
Just left Vegas back in October for my birthday. For this being my first time visiting I can say I enjoyed the experience. The weather was almost perfect! Next time I visit will more likely be for a big boxing match
REgarding the drop in revenue in the Strip, maybe it's because the greedy corporations are taking perks away from the loyal and good customers. I know that I and many of my gambling friends , are not gambling or spending as much as before since Caesar's corporation took away so many perks. No wonder the revenue is down, they think that taking perks away will bring them more cash and it's the opposite. Regarding the bed bugs, is it easy to spot them ?
Gaming revenue declined for the last 3 months on the strip, but increased on Freemont? Good. Maybe the greedy corporations will realize that having $25 minimum bets on games like blackjack and craps prices many people out of the market. If I have a gambling budget of $300 for a day, I'm okay losing that money if I can make a night of it, even a couple of hours. But if the greedy corporations insist on making the minimums $25, I'd rather go to Freemont. I love blackjack, but I haven't played on the strip in about 5 years--that's 5 trips since the $5 and $10 tables disappeared. Lots of empty tables on a weekday afternoon that I've passed by because I won't play at a $25 table, I would play if the tables were $10. The casinos still have to pay the dealer to stand and watch the crowd walk by their empty tables. To the greedy corporations...figure that one out yet? And replacing real table games with electronic games doesn't work for me, and I'm sure many others. Thanks for the video.😀
We love going to Vegas for the entertainment, food, extravagance, etc. But as far as gambling is concerned, we sit in their casinos and rarely do we see the prize patrol coming around to hand pay someone at a machine... At our local casinos in SoCal someone, somewhere is hitting a jackpot every 30 minutes... Vegas is just too greedy over there...
When will you get to reviewing Diner Ross and the "Disco Show"? Would love to see how your experience is! We saw did the dinner and show in October and had a great time!
@@TurnItUpWorld I stepped away from the counter and located a manager who addressed my concerns in a professional manner. Always question charges on a bill that make no sense. After years of 2-3 Vegas trips a year,it has become a shell of its former self. What used to be THE only adult playground in the world has become Disneyland with less gambling as recent revenue numbers show. Everything is overpriced and fees for everything add to less money for gambling which used to be why Vegas was created. Add poor hospitality and crime in some hotels it is becoming oout of reach for the middle class which was always the bulk of the visitors. It is tougher on international visitors who have to lose 30+-% on the money exchange. There are now hundred of local casinos around the world as competition, oh I forgot to mention how tight the machines are. So I am done with LV.

I use to love Vegas but idk if I will go anymore. Every time I ate at a restaurant it was about $65-$75. Bottle of water $7, chips $6. 1 Hotdog or slice of pizza $15-20. Hotel fees are ridiculous. They covered the front of the beautiful bellagio fountain with some ugly seating area for the F1 racing. It’s hella dusty because they are doing so much construction and tearing down. It just ain’t the same. 😢
I have lived here in Vegas for 6 years. The allure is falling fast for a lot of people. From impossible gambling odds to pretty bad musician recedencies. Hope 2025 is going to be better.
Well I wasn't gonna go to vegas this year but I decided to take a few days before I go back to work and I'll be going there early next month for 6 days..
I was there at that time too! Firemen were out side my room ! The alarm went on forever and super loud! Hope they arrested who pulled that alarm if it was a prank!
never again Las Vegas, we are so over it and have been for years. We go Palm Springs, get a lovely room, great food, fun gambling and great customer service. No need for that drive only to be ripped off. Besides no celebrity that we would even want to see.
Hi Judy my name is Carrie and I live in Sarasota and we used to go to Vegas every Year on our our anniversary until we found out about Biloxi, Ms we stay at the Beau Rivage the food is good and everyone is friendly and the casino are not far ,but you have to get the casino hopper to get to them hope you will google Biloxi and the Beau has it's own flight.
My own personal experience, we visit Vegas 2/3 times a year and spend a minimal amount of money on gaming because we simply don’t win. W understand it’s a money maker for the casinos, but it’s also not any fun when you have a budget and get wiped out on a consistent basis. We gamble off the strip or go to shows to occupy our time. Just our experience when we go.
Great job on the voiceover! Lots of good info to cover and for me based on your data, it looks like the Venetian is the BEST DEAL so far in terms of quality of stay and overall excitement! I wish I was younger and that the Hard Rock Hotel and it's pool of old was still in its heyday BUT of course, father time has finally caught up with me! LOL! It looks like a more POLISHED experience at the Venetian or even the Bellagio is probably the way to go now for those of us who went to Phish and Simple Plan concerts or had younger siblings who listened to Aqua! As a NEXT VIDEO SUGGESTION, how about showcasing some of the way-off-strip hotel-casino options where prices are much better than the big-strip hotels even in the high season!? Even if we only get the simple rectangular or small curved-edge swimming pool and 50 slots machines and ten poker tables, and a smaller kids play area do please give us a heads-up on what YOU think has good room quality, good food, decent amenities and gambling but also a decent family-friendly price! AND ALSO, what off-strip shops, hotels and restaurants have GREAT REWARDS which give great prices on various family-friendly shopping and services but also things such as well-discounted tickets for local shows and attractions. V
I am 75 years old. I grew up in Vegas and now I visit at least every 90 days. I only stay for 2 or 3 days, I eat cheap and I come to gamble. The biggest problem I see are the mega-resorts and the attractions and entertainment that the millennials want. It's not Disneyland. That's not what Vegas was built on. Those are the problems that I see from a Vegas regular.
PM~ good for you this city and state has become rogued full of violence and just plain fuqury. Outrageous prices and corruption everywhere, they also blocked everything which provides an unpleasant experience everywhere you go it’s an absolute nightmare.
the strat is not shocking in 2018 walked in my strat select room and there was bedbugs walking all over the bed at noon. they were on the windowsill on the nightstand the headboard and the chair. Took pics when back down and got new room different floor
Vegas was once a special attraction, now its sorry to say and to no offense to its locals , just a giant money grabbing tourist trap shit hole, what one family weekend getaway spent on the strip can get a whole 2 weeks vacation in some nice tropic resort.

I'm also a non smoker. Las Vegas Blvd has very high minimum bets. Not so downtown. Never have been to Delano and it seems to be out of the way. Prices in that restaurant moving to the former Sands Hotel will go up. I remember going here. It was very small back then. Not an Eagles fan. MGM has lousy food. Not missing much. Biggest rip I saw was $33us for 2 stale pieces of pizza and a drink near the Ka Theatre.
Hi Tanya and Dave, I love your Public Service Announcement! Whenever John Sr., and I go we'll be in the knowledge! You two are really...THE BEST COUPLE IN THE WORLD! 🌍
Thank you for all the info Tanya and Dave , kitties too 😊❤
You are very welcome Lisabee! Thank you!!
These updates on Las Vegas are definitely helpful for us visitors. Thanks for the news.
Thanks, we are glad that you find the Las Vegas updates helpful!
Outstanding video. Very comprehensive. It's almost impossible to keep up with everything going on in our city.
What brings people to spend money is comps. If casinos would start giving better comps again like free buffet, buy one get one meal coupons, free room stays, then people would patronize the casinos. Also, get rid of resort fees and have better hospitality.
💯
Get mgm credit card
Gets your player card upgraded and free parking. I always get comped room offers from them.
I usually stay at mgm grand king room.
Hey Tanya and Dave thanks for the updates and keep up the good work. Love you guys
Wow, the 200K just around the corner. I remember the emotional video of 100K. Seems like yesterday. Been a subscriber since 20K.
Thanks so much, your support means a lot to us!!
Thanks for the updates.
Definitely think Jose Andres prices will increase once they move.
Before retiring I used to love to visit LV for my birthday when it landed on friday as it would be a long weekend with Veteran's Day on monday. Not this year but still planning some fun with my family friday.
Thanks Yvonne! 😀
Crazy how much Vegas keeps changing!
Absolutely luv this vid!! Keep’em comin!
Frm North Las Vegas.
Wow thank you so much for this informative video!
New hotels need to open for more competition allowing better service and lower prices.
The Sahara without water. Makes sense 😅
Hi Tanya and Dave, I've never been to Las Vegas! I hope to go one day! I know that my husband and I will have a good time!
I love Vegas i wouldn't live anywhere else.
Happy HOLIDAYS , I AM BRINGING IN MY NEW YEAR AT THE SPHERE CANT WAIT
Thanks for the great info!
You are very welcome James!
Just left Vegas back in October for my birthday. For this being my first time visiting I can say I enjoyed the experience. The weather was almost perfect! Next time I visit will more likely be for a big boxing match
Thanks for sharing and we are glad that you enjoyed your first time in Las Vegas!
So well done, had to subscribe
Thanks so much Greg and welcome aboard!
Love Ocean One! Great drinks, good food, great prices.
Thanks for sharing!
The prices at those hotels are outrageous! 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Thats why you only go when it's comped. 😆
Already liked it and haven’t started watching yet!!! 😍😍😍
Thank you
When will you get to reviewing Diner Ross and the "Disco Show"? Would love to see how your experience is! We saw did the dinner and show in October and had a great time!
Thanks for sharing the great tip!
At MGM check out, I questioned a charge on my bill and the clerk responded with a threat to call security on me.
Wow, that’s crazy. What was the charge?
@@TurnItUpWorld A $40 phone charge.
Thanks for sharing. We hope everything worked out.
@@TurnItUpWorld I stepped away from the counter and located a manager who addressed my concerns in a professional manner. Always question charges on a bill that make no sense.
PS I watched your Halloween feed and really enjoyed it, e.g., when you turned and spanked the lady with your beaver tail. OMG LOL
Thanks for all the info, the fun and good times.
Good information, thank you.
Thanks so much, we are glad that you found our Las Vegas update helpful!
Please turn back the LV clock to 1988 and leave it there. Thank you
Take a bar of soap put on bed see if the little critters go after it,also carbonize which we breath in and out attack bugs.I work as a housekeeper also put bags in tub lift up corners on bed take a flashlight and look .
@@justme6767 haha people think I’m crazy when I say that, we definitely put our bags in the tub 🤣
Thanks for sharing, that’s very helpful and also a bit gross to think about!
Can't wait for the new In & Out Burger spot!!!! How is the show "Awakening" at the "Wynn" doing? Love your videos! Love you guys!!! You two are the best!!!
Thanks, we are looking forward to checking it out as well! We have heard that the new Awakening is pretty good, but we have not seen it yet ourselves!
Yup.i always stop by at the in & out on the strip for a cheap double burger sandwich. That's my lunch.
Thanks Mike for sharing, we are optimistic for Las Vegas in 2025!
Well, Carrot Top is still there…
With Trump in office it will get better.
@ he missed out on a certain demographic by not promising to turn Vegas back over to the mob.
Well I wasn't gonna go to vegas this year but I decided to take a few days before I go back to work and I'll be going there early next month for 6 days..
That’s great, have a wonderful time in Vegas! Are you staying on the Strip?
It’s happened to me too the smoke alarm thing at Paris last year
I was there at that time too! Firemen were out side my room ! The alarm went on forever and super loud! Hope they arrested who pulled that alarm if it was a prank!
@martyc.2888 there's a pull alarm inside your room? How would anyone pull it if they don't have a room key?
So happy I have never been to las vegas and never will. I do miss those $12 drinks and $20 a day parking.
never again Las Vegas, we are so over it and have been for years.
Good to know!
Thanks Bonnie!
You told us about the finances of gaming but are the profits up for hotel stays astronomical.
Haven’t walked the strip on my last 10 visits. There’s is NO point in doing that
Whooooooooooooaaa it's Vegas Baby!!!!❤
Good info
Thanks so much!
Haha, table limits are at $50 or $100. Good luck getting people to gamble on the strip.
Thanks for sharing!
2:03 Bonus points for sneaking in b-roll of Macau China instead of Las Vegas. 🤣
Congrats you win! 😂
I wondered if this was a skill testing question!
3-4 years after a $69 /night hotel, it is now $200, who the hell will go? Obviously price fixing.

Could've easily built Las Vegas like a Saudi Arabian style city in the desert instead of Hulking Suburbs in the Heat. Could be a paradise
Appreciate the updates! ❤ will be there next week
Thanks so much, have a great time in Las Vegas!
@ Ty!
Bed bugs are just going to happen even in the nicest hotels around the world.
Howlin Ray's is awesome, hopefully the new location wont have the multi hour lines to wait in for food.
Thanks for sharing, we are excited to give it a try!
Do you guys do cruise reviews?
The Vegas experience is off strip now. Get rid of the F1 racing! A ball park on the strip, oh hell no !
I bet strip gambling revenue dropped because the minimums are so damn high. Conversely downtown did better because the minimums are more reasonable
Just FYI....Groupon has deals for Vegas hotels. J/S
Scottsdale AZ resident. I used yo enjoy Las Vegas 2-3 times a year. Stopped visiting about 12 years ago, don't miss it, will never go back.
PM~ good for you this city and state has become rogued full of violence and just plain fuqury. Outrageous prices and corruption everywhere, they also blocked everything which provides an unpleasant experience everywhere you go it’s an absolute nightmare.
Who in the hell pays to watch cars ripping down the roadway? Just watch any street in Las Vegas and it's free!
That race is probably the stupidest idea Vegas had had .
Thanks Mikey for watching, hopefully the 2nd year of F1 Las Vegas is much less disruptive than the first!
I live in Vegas and everyone I know that went to the race said it was awesome.
Locals really hate it.
Maybe they had a one day pass. The race had big reports of unorginization with people being forced to leave.
If they're going to do it every year they should design ways to avoid the disruptions and cost of repeating same modifications every year.
Hello 👋🏽 TIUW😊
Hi Christine! 😀
the strat is not shocking in 2018 walked in my strat select room and there was bedbugs walking all over the bed at noon. they were on the windowsill on the nightstand the headboard and the chair. Took pics when back down and got new room different floor
Wow the Avenue cafe, loved that place, really?
Vegas was once a special attraction, now its sorry to say and to no offense to its locals , just a giant money grabbing tourist trap shit hole, what one family weekend getaway spent on the strip can get a whole 2 weeks vacation in some nice tropic resort.
Hospitality is not a sustainable industry , with falling consumer spending.
I left Vegas with Yucca Mtn Project severance.
AND Janet Jackson has shows at Resorts World!! 😊🎉
Something seems off about the graphic @ 1:13.
Is that last year's dates?
The 15th of Nov is a Friday..
Thanks, yes, the graphic does actually briefly show last year’s calendar.
Am subscribed. Even hit the like button. The time of the race is not the time to be in Las Vegas. Don't like to stay on Las Vegas Blvd. Westgate may not be a good place to stay either. Wouldn't want to stay on Las Vegas Blvd.
Thanks so much for subscribing and thanks also for sharing!!
You can’t convince me f1 is worth the problems it causes
So the sahara was dry ? Hmm shocker lolol
