Turning on sustenance and increasing the amount of health you get from food just completely makes that whole part of the game more viable and worth looking into.
Yeah That's good. Either increase the reward, or increase the punishment. I went with the latter, I think. -M

These new features makes Gastronomy more worthwhile also.
Good point. I have sustenance set for positive and negative for a +4% XP boost. I just load up with about 10 meals and 10 drinks at a vendor before I head out. That lasts a number of hours.
Love the update so far! I actually feel way more immersed now with the new difficulty and I basically did the same exact settings as yours. This is a huge step in the right direction with Starfield!

Sorry I meant an unextreme! Like an opposite of extreme so that enemies die quickly
Im really glad I found your channel and I really vibe and identify with your play style. 2 big wins so far, random ship landings are back and ship power levels stay where you left them.

Its sooo smooth now i like it. Im still grinding out powers after i get em all on my current run im going to the story again with these settings! I played fallout 4 like this. High risk and high reward.
Third person gameplay! You’re the only one on TH-cam the play like this. I love it!! This is the only way I play. I also used to play ghost recon. First person make me dizzy and I hate it. You just got a new Sub. Keep playing third person please 🙏

High extreme difficulty is good. Bounties, side missions, boarding large enemy ships, using and finding legendary weapons, finding unique areas and ships. Commentary is good.
I initially started with difficulty settings similar to yours ( same goal, we hit hard but so does the enemy ). Early on it feels great, but ended up reverting player damage because later on when you start modding your weapons and suits, with those settings you will be one shooting even elite enemies while they still need quite a few shots to down you. Would really recommend Hard or at least Normal instead of your current Very Easy.

Agreed. I have it on extreme and very hard bc I'm level 100 now. Extreme and hard also felt really good but I like it on extreme and very hard bc if I don't have a plan and aim well or I am over run I actually die now.
Love the new Settings , Made the game Much more dangerous and i was already playing the hardest difficulty before the update and only died when i went in running and gunning vs a lot of enemies in wide open spaces. Now one or two enemies pose a legitimate Threat
For additional immersion & challenge: take off the aim reticule so that you need to use skill or iron sights to aim accurately
I am actually excited to get back in this game. I’m stuck on Fallout 4 for now though.

260 hours in. Still entertained. Still so much to do. I treated it with the no rush mentality as I had to wait like a decade and would’ve loved to have scrubbed my brain of Skyrim to start over. People who rushed through all elements of starfield and complain about it being empty are silly. I haven’t even completed the main storyline. Matter of fact, I JUST finished the mission that comes after getting Andreja
The credits aren’t really an issue for me since actually finding and smuggling contraband at Neon is awesome. There is a specific vendor that will buy it off you for its raw value, there was some confusion around this at launch because apparently every other vendor will give you nothing for contraband and nobody cared to listen and find him. The game honestly just needs land vehicles and more POI’s thrown in the mix and it will be elevated that much greater

I didn't put my damage at Extreme, kept it at very hard because i had already invested in ballistic damage so while enemies require me to empty a handful of Shots in them, they still go down reasonably fast , especially if i head shot 'em

In this Starfields May Update on my PC Rig of a Ryzen 5900x and Merc 310 RX 7900XTX I set everything to 75 percent XP and had a Terramorph chase me down a hill and killed it as I was Running backwards rapid firing my Orion and got around 360 XP then encounter some Freeborns when their ship landed I came under attack and had to hide behind an object and taken them out one by one and got 160 XP per Freeborn I am around level 65 at the time.
I just love how intense everything is. -M
To be honest, I would’ve rather waited to play the game now with this new update then spoil it and play it prior. I will come back to the game now but I’m slightly tainted from playing it prior. 😂
I wouldn't have been able to wait. At least these QOL changes are already here for when the DLC drops. -M
It’s nice for casual gamers who want to play on a normal modded but not have to worry about carry weight or if you are close enough to the ship
I love the options I turned everything up to extreme and it's a fight to survive just the beginning of the game like the nova star yard ...have to really think about each engagement and how to best attack from cover
I started a new playthrough on the new extreme settings. Man it’s hard. I had to readjust carry capacity to normal to carry more than 2 guns and enough ammo (added weight to ammo)
The best part is that we can change every little thing until it's perfect for each player. -M

I don't know if you know this Ripley had the flamethrower and the aliens were looking at her from the haze and were scared she was going to burn the eggs.
I will keep playing this game on hard, with default settings and 60 fps on my series x, this game is awesome, not rushing anything, just playing slowly and exploring this universe, that is my way to go
Love the update...but... I tried to take over a ship in space and had trouble. I boarded and elimiated the crew and sat in the pilots chair. No problem yet, however the next thing I usually do is go to the ship menu and make this ship my home ship. After that, I was locked/stuck in the ship review menu and only my two sticks worked. None of the buttons, especially B to get out would not function and I had to reboot the XBox. I tried this three times with the same result. My work-around was to just fly it as NOT my home ship to an outpost and fix it there? Anyone else see this?
60fps on a VRR display is a great improvement!
I wish they would have put in details like real damage were blood and limbs can be blown off. Especially when you shoot a space helmet the visor/glass part would frost up
Also, an Xbox series X user here. I doblove the fact that we can make the difficulty more customizable, as the game is more challenging now. I do however have a major issue with this update. One of my favorite things to do are space battles and capturing ships. Since the update everytime I try to make a captured ship my home ship from the pilot seat, the game makes a weird noise and freezes. Everytime. The only way I can capture a ship from space is wait for the ship to repair itself and fly to a planet. A complete run around and I'm curious if anyone else is having this issue? God I hope I'm not the only one. Lol
Sadly I am hearing about a lot of issues with boarding and capturing ships. Let’s hope for a fix soon!
@Normal_People lol You have no idea how relieved I am to hear that as I haven't heard of anyone else having this issue. Thanks for that! That being the case, I'd like to think they'll fix that sooner rather than later, as that's a major component to the game.
That's what i loved about ghost of Tsushima except for the boss fights as you die in like two hits but they still have their big ass health bar

One of the updates deleted all gallery photos. I lost the will to play it after that I put alot of effort in to my photos.
I love having combat set to extreme but also very easy for me. Feels actually realistic to a degree. If i blindly run around a corner or stand out in the open. You will be vaporized lol but enemies are not bullets sponges. Tough enemies, actually put up a challenge. My only complaint is now AI :( i wish they wouldnt stay in the sane spot and actually try to flnk you
So, I cannot add to my cargo anymore since the update; anyone else encountered this? Even at the cargo interface on my ship, I can take from it, but not add to it.
People make sure to have the best armor they can find and then set to up the damage by opponents. You know that you can just wear the weakest armor and not develop your Wellness skill, right? I've been playing with those kind of high stakes from day one, without an update, just by leaving myself vulnerable.

Very interesting. Since FO4 i began to view the perks system as a customizable difficulty setting, i guess the same way you do.
So i do like armor pen & crippling type combat perks to make things a bit more interesting, but i don't take anything which boosts my health pool or regen speed.
I'm very cautious about taking anything to increase the damage from a weapon type.
Some people enjoy becoming the unstoppable immortal in an rpg, i like to maintain the challenge!
I felt Very Easy was too easy for me, so I bumped them up to at least normal.
Yeah after some testing, I may need to adjust. But I'll say, I did get to a Bounty mission where the enemy did present quite a challenge. -M
I like it where the enemy damage is extreme, and my damage is easy, makes it feel more realistic to me. It's all about who gets who first now. And I'm not really using powers besides grav dash to cover terrain.

The combat damage was my problem. I didn't know how to set it up in my current first playthroughwhich was kinda ruined by the update😂. So you set up Enermy Combat Damage to Extreme and Player Combat Damage to "Very Easy" . I was skeptical about this, but Ive seen many bros doing it too. I dunno if I keep playing without land vehicles, or wait until the release it, i hate this 😂

Earning like 20% more XP just from playing on Very Hard is nice. Not really a fan of the Extreme damage or sustenance options.
Yeah that is nice. Even before the update, I had to put it to Very Hard for my lvl 100+ character just to be more exciting. -M
Only problem with sustenance for me is the fact it keeps displaying it... On my HUD at various points and I'm like I KNOW! I literally just drank and ate something.

Hopefully when they add in more poi’s as well

I downloaded the new UPDATE!! And now I'm the proud owner of over (2,400) HOURS of Deleted!! Content in the Starfield universe. It wiped my entire game file. I'm really looking forward to anyone who can PLEASE HELP!! Guide me in the right direction. Thanks. (I'm on Xbox Series X)

I bought the game on ms store, I can run it also on my pc, just before starting the game on pc it checks save status ( progress etc) and then i have all my saves on pc...so... u kno what i mean? So I dont get it how can u lost...it,!

It does but it is still incredibly boring. Still no transport vehicles in the game we still have to walk everywhere which is boring.
Just a survival mode then cool shit the only serious way plsying beth games
