Hey Chris. It’s me Chris. Wanted to say Ty for being one of the few people who had showed me and made me fall in love with this world of card magic and collecting. Was going through some hard times and it’s been a life saver. Literally. I ordered your Momento Mori deck but realized last night they are not the OG’s. When I have more money I promise I’ll buy the actual deck. Ooh also went out to the Thrift shops yesterday and got an Original(in the box and sealed) Tim Burton deck. Huge find. Anyway again TY. I got into magic about 15 years ago. My buddy showed me a few things which got me hooked. I started looking up videos to see what I could learn just by watching them. This was literally the first thing I saw (from Brad Christian). Blew my damn mind. I must have watched it for almost 2 hours straight before I had that aha moment. So this was the very first thing I learned, with no tutorial. Took me about 2 months to get it down. I didn't realize at the time how hard it was. Not the best trick for a beginner. LOL. It's great when mixed with 2-3 other sleights that are used before it.

Idk if I’m alone in this but I don’t like the shapeshifter change at all. It always looks way too obvious even when done perfectly
I feel like this is exactly why they decided to "reveal" this one on youtube. It is easy enough to pick up when seen more than once and super easy in slow motion to detect. Thankfully [for magicians who are working magicians] and sadly [cause I am broke] they will never reveal the great color changes.

Honestly, to me, the way it is preformed here it didn't even look like it was supposed to be fooling. It just seemed like a slick was to turn over a card
I am a great fan of Alex pandrea but I think his shapeshift does actually look obvious. I don’t say my version is better but I quickly lift my right hand by about 15 cm during the change. That big motion of lifting the hand covers the small motion of the card flipping over. Also I try to hold the long side of the double parallel to the long side of the deck before and after the change. That means I have to tilt my hand during the change. This way it’s slightly less visual but covers much better what’s going on. Just my opinion.
It is rather obvious, but if used unexpectedly, it still works wonders.
It’s a good pop of a color change to use in as a part of another effect, just not as part of a mix of color changes.
In my experience anyway, I use it almost every time I perform to great effect.
