How To Calibrate a Stihl Chainsaw With M-Tronic 3.0

A short video describing how to calibrate, or reset, a Stihl chainsaw equipped with M-Tronic 3.0. A calibration should be preformed when parts have been replaced or if the chainsaw does not seem to perform at it's best.

Every other instruction I've seen/read says to wait for the saw to drop from that high RPM before letting off throttle and turning off

You did it wrong. You're supposed to hold the throttle wide open until it drops off revs by itself.

This is the correct way to calibrate the M-Tronic version 3.0 There is a different calibration sequence for versions lower than 3.0

I am working with a MS 362C-M just purchased now in December 2020. The procedure shown in the video corresponds to the description in the manual. If used year round and adjustments are made for summer/winter operation, will calibration still be necessary with the change in temperatures? Thank you.
