I had the same error on the dash, opened up the EGR valve and the cog was intact. Blew clean the connectors and made sure the plastic cog ⚙️ moves inside the EGR. Put it back together and the error had gone. For now anyway 😂
Great video but my brother's golf has the other cog with broken teeth, the one on the left, the one that is just a quarter of a sprocket. Can you please tell me if it comes out and if it does, how ? Thank you!
The engine light problem came on due to the Egr valve not closing or opening correctly which was caused by the missing teeth in the cog, so he essentially moved the cog around…..I think
hi need adaptation with vag.com ? because 3 days ago i clean my egr valve and my car spend more gasolin. before i clean i spend 8 liter in city now spending 10 liter in city and smell gasolin :S

I replaced my broken egr valve with new, error gone, but have rough idle now, no clue why. Any thoughts?
The new EGR has to be calibrated to the vehicle by running adaptation using diagnostic software.
I did that thing and the other piece of cog broke off lol
