    The shoulder straps clip over the pillion seat to a bag on the other side. Extra security. Like a throwover. The excess straps go under the shoulder padding. (Well they did before you cut them 😅)
    The bottom straps may have enough length to reach the bottom of your pannier rail.

      @pdxt120  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I had considered that the straps might connect to the bag on the other side but I concluded that that would not work for me because, unless I am on a longer trip, I ride with only the one bag. I had looked at bundling the extra strap under the shoulder padding, but ultimately I concluded that the shoulder strap just did not make much sense. The designers should have just made the shoulder strap removable.
      I have ridden nearly 800 miles since installing the racks and the Rhinowalk Saddlebag and so far, aside from the shoulder strap issue, I really love the bag(s).

      @@pdxt120THAT'S NOT A SHOULDER STRAP. Useless to you? Fine, still not a shoulder strap.

      @@wotdafuck89 The product description says "Equipped with a strap, it can be used as a shoulder bag, which can be crossed or carried by hand." I understand that it could be used to connect two bags, and as a shoulder strap for a single bag. But as I always ride with a single bag unless I am on a longer trip and I really don't need a shoulder strap when I am carrying the single bag. I stand behind what I said in the video, the strap should have been made removable.

    The strap you're calling a shoulder strap, goes over your seat and helps support the pannier the other side. Did you not look at other video's to see how they fitted??

    • @pdxt120
      @pdxt120  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I did not watch other videos before I tried to put these on the bike. But I suspected as much, but I did not want a strap across my seat. If you remember from my comments about my previous over the seat bags, the seat harness discolored the white striping which goes around my seat and there was no way that I was going to put straps over my seat going forward.
      I have put thousands of miles on the bike and the bags since I added them and there has been no problem with the bags staying secure on the bike without the straps.

    Can a pavilion travel with this saddle back

      Thanks for the question. I would think not. The bag sits low enough that it really impacts the rear peg even when empty. I can't imagine how someone would get their foot on the rear peg if the bag were full.

    I bought these bags, too.
    The shoulder strap is not removable. The cushion wrapping on them is, so you can cross the seat without it and the straps will lay flat, but then you have to store the cushions in your bag if you're going to use them. The straps should have been mounted at the ends of the bag so they could help hold the lid closed. I'm thinking of cutting the strap off, too. But I would leave enough on it to make a loop with a sewing machine and use one of those "S" type clips to connect it again if needed.
    The two straps that can be used to carry them with one hand will not join together if the bag is filled to its limit. They should have been longer. Not sure how I will fix that at the moment.
    The hooks that clip the bag on the rack skip from 18mm to 22mm. My bars are 20mm. So the 22mm setting has these bags sitting loose. I'll look for some plastic tubing to slip on my bars to make up the difference. There are six straps to tie this bag onto your rack. The bottom two are so far down the bag that they have to come back up to tie onto the rack bar. If you make them tight, they will want to lift the bag off the top hooks. But they are the only straps worth using to hold the bag on the bike. The side straps aren't mounted in a way to make them useful for that.
    The waterproof inner bag isn't much better than a garbage bag. If the outside is so water resistant, why bother with these inner bags? The main bag has a drain hole on the bottom, which moisture can work its way into the bag and your clothes, so keep that in mind if you remove the "garbage" bag.
    The front pocket has a strip of Velco-like cloth on it. The back panel should have had that so I could Velco it to the plate on my rack.
    The straps that go over the top to secure the top closed wants to slide off the sides like a strap on a woman's dress slips off her shoulders. They can be crisscrossed to fix that. The inner bag should have been mounted a little deeper, and the top flap zippered closed. There is nothing to keep it closed when filled except folding it over.
    Frankly, these bags need a lot of work, design wise. The side material seems very sturdy, but the bottom material is questionable. The bag has loops sewn all over without any purpose beyond looks. It would have been nice to have bottle holders on the sides. The straps that are used to hold it to the rack will loose tension if you remove anything from the bag, so you will have to re-tighten them, or visa-versa.
    Bottom line, I likely wasted my money on these bags, but there really isn't anything else out there for this kind of price. When they come out with ver. 2.0, I will likely upgrade and sell these bags off.

    Hello sir. Very good informative vid on these bags. Am fixing to buy a "23 T120. I want to install a bag system like on your bike.
    For the spacer issue, I plan on cutting bicycle tube pieces and super glue them onto the small spacers. Hopefully that'll dampen the rattling. Thank u, ride safe!

    • @pdxt120
      @pdxt120  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I never fixed the play in the mounting clips. They do not seem to vibrate at all due to the straps that I have used to secure the lower part of the bag. So, if the bicycle tube does not work, I think you will be fine. I have put a few thousand miles on the bike with the bag and I have had no problems.

      @@pdxt120 nope. I currently have a pair of royal enfield bags and planning to have some custom saddle rails for my ktm duke 390 to mount on. So looking around for considerations on rail length, diameter and dimensions so that in the future I can swop those, rhinowalk or motowolf ones when the bags break down in the tropical climate I'm in. Looking for average quick release solutions. Good to hear the bags are doing you good! Ride safe brother.

    Sorry but this video invents problems that aren't there. When you put your stuff in the bag with that weight they won't rattle and I doubt very much they'd rattle when empty. People don't cut the shoulder strap. Those S hooks come across the top of the bag to hold it closed and you can use them to secure the shoulder strap. This is what happens when you think your smarter than the designer. Didn't even put the boards in place that give the bag it's square shape. I'm sorry but this is a terrible video with bad advice. I put them on a T100 and they're fine without hacking on them.

    • @pdxt120

      I apologize that it took me so long to reply but your comment that I did not "put the baords in place that give the bag it's square shape..." confused me. I searched everywhere and there were no boards included with my bags. But even if there were, I really like the cloth bag look. But, irrespective, the boards were not included in my packaging.

    • @Mark-ix8rz

      @pdxt120 The boards are installed in the bags already you have to fold them down
