It has been three weeks since the rape and murder of a young doctor in a government run hospital, RG Kar, in kolkata. The incident and a series of cover-ups have triggered nation wide protests. The parents of the victim refused to take compensation from the Mamata Banerjee government saying it is a matter of "self respect". The family runs a small tailoring shop in the North Parganas and struggled to make their daughter a doctor. They have won hearts for their enormous courage. In an interview to Barkha Dutt, the father of the doctor raped & murdered in Kolkata's RG Kar talks about his fight for justice, his daughter's ambitions, and how all those protesting for his daughter are like family to him.

The incident is already dying down in the mainstream media. Yet another example of that fact that Govt and police can do whatever they want, as illegal as it may be, and get away with it. They can do this in front of the whole world and in the broad day light. This is real India.

See, almost everybody knows about the wrongdoings of their parent institutions, we too knew of ours. But that doesn't make anybody fall victim to something like this.
Some people prior to this heinous incident were sharing among themselves(internees) that this is what would be happening then some people knowing it before
should have protected her or made her to be away that night where it was conspired to do all this. People have no time to save their own colleague or friend but now when it had happened are sharing. People have time to share now , gossip around but failed to stop it. There are also some claims of videos made about it , if those are real then what's stopping the reputed mainstream to disclose the names of people who did this.
Please don't offer them compensation, get them justice for their daughter who was performing her duties while all this happened.
DNA should be finger printed to find out and match with all people suspected.
It also appears that this incident didn't happen in the seminar room, it happened in some other room where so far it is not been traced and all evidences were there and must be removed by now during this long phase. You see people were clever enough to hide everything as it happened within the hospital , means only internal sources had whole
access and were involved too. The ways things are found in seminar room doesn't justify the incident happened there. Her body must be moved later Police should have screened other access doors , if any other than the one which was used generally.
Since the girl's aim was to achieve gold medal and was also happy for her marriage plans , hers motive was not at all to expose rackets, these were even known to the working staff who assist the big shots for all manual work of dead bodies selling, organs etc,

How can such heinous crime happen to such innocent people what has our country turning into ….injustice everywhere and judiciary and investigative agencies just sits and does nothing….had the same thing happened to a powerful person’s daughter everyone would have run pillar to post to give justice to that person…court would have heard the case on Sunday too….

The parent of the victim has accussed hospital and police for misguiding and tampering the evidences....most shameful thing is bengal police is using social platform and daliy media briefing to justify themself.... Shame...bengal misses police officers lile Damayanti Sen....Hard to get justice in bengal, same like Sandeshkhali where bengal government and police played the same role... Doubtful what CBI may be able to dig out...

First time I felt Respect for Barkha dutt for follwoing this story, barkha known for his Anti Hindu journalism and keeping shut on attrocities on hindus in bangladesh or never speaking against sar tun se juda slogans and continious crimes against hindu Womens , could feel pain in her voice in this interview which i was surprised, may be her conscience has risen finally and hope from now onwards she does her jounalism fairly ,objectively without bias and not getting money and favours from pseudo liberal ecosystem which other Pidi Media does
We fight many wars in life till we get peace, I suppose fighting for women makes more sense than all the rest & this fight will never end till esteem restores.
