@ lmao you think that they could make all these games on their own?

@@pinkguy9952 They made one of the greatest games in history of gamedev already in 1991, the game which is superior to everything alltogether which came later from Naughty Dog, they were doing it almost 3 years, just almost 2 of them along with couple of others. It would be my dream to work as a game designer at ND one day; unfortunately my early attempts to engage with coding haven't been successful. Love picking apart levels in games and analyzing them, identifying what the designers who made it did and determining what went through their heads when making a specific choice. I'll pick up coding again one day, and I hope I'll make it to ND soon thereafter :) Keep making the most incredible games out there guys, you've inspired me and so many others to one day make games as incredible as yours!
I love you naughty dog from the bottom of my heart... I appreciate the kind of effort you guys put into your games, your attention to detail is just mind blowing.. Can't apply for jobs unfortunately :(... But I appreciate all of your hard work and hats off to you guys.. Good luck with Uncharted 4. Looking forward to playing it next year, Inshaa Allah...
I dream to work with you guys! I'm a computer scientist in Colombia and founder of an elearning site where other Latinos can learn game programming (unreal, Unity etc), 3D art and more with weekly mentorship. I'm 30 now and it's been a wonderful ride. But now I wanna focus on myself more than on helping others. I'm extremely scared because I feel "old" even thou I know thinking like that is silly. Anyway, this year I start a big journey of aiming for a Masters degree so I can get to the U.S and one day work with you guys and heck, even help more Latinos get into the game industry. Just wanted to share! Thanks for all the years of inspiration!
+Joseph Murray You should be! Keep hold of that feeling though, because it's not going to be easy, so you have to remind yourself sometimes what you're doing it all for.
@Video Game Massacre, Jesus christ dude, you ever hear that saying "the best things in life are the most difficult to achieve" Every person has the ability to achieve their goals, its how hard and how much you're willing to do to achieve your dream career. Once you achieve that dream then your job becomes a joy every day you are there instead of a shitty job that you decided to fall back on cause it was too "hard" to continue the pursuit of your dream. I spent 5 years working away, saving up so that I could go to school to achieve my dream and I thought once I got there it would be easy since they would teach me everything. No dude right away I realised this was just the start of a very difficult but rewarding journey and I sat my ass down and worked on studying, practicing everyday on my specialty and even when it seem like it was too hard then I would find help and be proactive and find different ways of understanding the subject matter. Sometimes it's how someone teaches and how you learn that it clicks and things move forward. 2 year of schooling, I've gotten my dream job in the game industry as level designer, but surprisingly it took me in a different direction a couple of years later as my passion shifted more towards the art side of production but before I realized it though... I ended up taking up a teaching job at a design school teaching level design and environmental level design for 5 years but then I got sick and ended up in and out of hospital for 4 years and now i've been trying to recover from the consequences of too many surgeries (I nearly died twice in the hospital due to complications and ended up on a ventilator to keep me breathing but due to pure will and of course doctors help I got through it but not without great difficulty) and dealing with massive pain and have to take heavy medication every day which meant I had been out of work for almost 5 years now but during that time I took any free time, any time I wasn't in the hospital or in pain and started learning about the art side of production, specifically character modeling, and texturing. As of recently I've been feeling better and have gotten more time to study and learn my field inside out and now am on track and creating characters that I would have thought i never had the skill level to achieve. There is another saying "to be a master at your field you need to achieve about 10,000 hours of practice and experience in your specialty" I am probably close to 4000 hours and I know that when I get closer to that goal I'll be even better at what I do which is already near industry standard, my only weakness is speed, and consistency, which I work at every moment I have free time. There are still many days where I don't get to do anything cause i'm in too much pain but I never EVER give up and when the pain passes I get back to practicing until I am perfect and beyond in my specialty and when I reach that goal I still won't stop and will continue to learn and better myself. So for anyone thinking that it's not worth following your dream don't ever think that, nothing is impossible, anything is possible if you truly put time, effort, pure will and get the help and resources need you will achieve that goal. I have many friends who have achieved their dreams and the same ones also fail many times as well during their way to their dream. We each made a promise when we were young that we would all never give up on any dream that we followed. So make your goals, make a promise to your friends and family and make it public and know within yourself that you can achieve it and you will. And don't ever let anyone else tell you otherwise and never ever give into doubt, fear, status quo, or settle for anything less. JUST BELIEVE IT, KNOW IT and ACHIEVE IT ! No matter how cliche' it may sound, its 1000x times better than giving up, sitting on your ass and settling for being content and then regretting it when you're stuck at a dead end job many years later, wishing you had tried a bit harder. Regret(s) is the #1 thing that people on their deathbed wish they could go back in time and fix/change.
With all the technology and ways to get funding out there, theres always a way to get your game done. Get a small team together and build a prototype and prove your game concept, get friends you meet to follow in your dream and who are willing to help build your game prototype on a part time basis and then once you have a solid foundation proving your game concept, go get funding via kickstart, indiego, fundme, etc. Yes be realistic, keep the scale and scope of the game in the achievable area. When I say any dream can be achieved, it does mean achievable within a realistic scope, life has plenty of difficulties, people my not like your game but who cares, you didn't build your game so that people can like it, you built it so you can express your ideas and if your ideas a great then they will get liked by someone but in the end who's opinion matters? yours or some stranger? I have my own plans to make a game and I've been gathering resources, teammates and searching for funding sources of any type but with the technology out there, Unreal 4, unity 5 , making games it a ton easier then ever and software is a ton cheaper as well, and all that requires is time and effort. Two of the most important things, even without money you can still achieve your dream, it just requires some workarounds and more will power. No one will ever seek your game idea out, it is up to you to prove out your game and do whatever is necessary to do it within a realistic scope. Anyways good luck it's never too late just very difficult. If it was that easy to do, it wouldn't be very rewarding would it? Just imagine making your game in 5 months, with no issues, all the funding you need, it wouldn't feel as good as fighting a battle and working your ass off to finally get there.
Oh my god, I LOVE your comment. You, plus others, have inspired me even more to become a video game designer. You are most definitely right, there is no point in not trying and then regretting it later in life. Knowing you could have changed your path by just trying a bit more really hit me in the soul. Hope you feel better from those surgeries, and hope you are still recovering fine, if you have not recovered completely yet. :D

Too bad I currently live in Holland 🙈 I love you guys and I wish I could contribute in some way. Help think about ideas and art for the games. Or design. I would do that for free 😊😁
Stop confusing people of WHO the fuck is a game designer, you are not a game designer because you model characters or animate them, they are the tools who makes a game alive, a game designer is the mother FUCKING master MIND behind everything.
Adan Rodriguez please help if you can. I'm trying to decide on a major and I'm so confused. To add more stress I have to decide before the 17th. I know it's important to study what you're passionate about but if you can't have a secure future with it that passion will burn and it will be the most hated thing. I registered my major to be in Network Administration. I don't know anything about it but I don't know anything about video game designing either. My question is, is studying video game design in hopes that you could work for a company like Naughty Dog pretty similar to studying Acting in hopes that you could someday go to Hollywood? Idk, I know I love to create, I love to design, develop, I love to be involved in a project from scratch and see it start and develop, then see it mature and ready, then enjoy others reaction and enjoyment in using it. Of course, I also love video games. With all that in mind, I'm scared that I won't be able to make it for external reasons. I need to know a lot more. I wouldn't even know which direction in game designing I should go if I chose that. Designer, developer, programmer, 2D/3D, animation...I don't know the difference. And finally, Idk how much I really should know before I decide.
+Invader Charles depends on what you'd like to be. Would you rather be technical or 3D artist? Do you like building things or animating them or working on visual effects? You see all these people are specialized in their preferred areas, like one is responsible for lighting which goes deep down into the physics of lights, environment artists are specialized in creating the environment of the game, then there are also character artists, who are responsible for the look of the characters and so on. All those people must correspond with each other in order to create a good game art. Fun fact is that most of the game developers actually don't want to play their own games they were working on for several years.
+Geworg Hovhannisyan i am also looking to games for my future and id love to be a game designer and preferably help with visual design and plot/story line so would i need to be an experienced writer? sorry but i like the insight you gave and would appreciate the help thanks. A lot of people say i would make an amazing writer by the way.
My wish is to work in the naughtydog studios I am 16 yeas old and I go to work hard on my skills in designing and that stuff so i will be a great grapic designer I can almost cry I want this so much :') Now I feel like a young girl with too big dreams when I look at there art.....but I will practice untill it is good enough :)
You could kick start a early access system on ps4 similar to steams (but hopefully more supervised) using uncharted 4... Just saying... Cause it was delayed... And I want to try it out...
uncharted 4 can be the last game...BUT.maybe the series can contineu with the son of drake? in the next game it might show that elena was pregnant (or chloe if you would) and mercenaries trie to spot drake because of a treasure map discovered in an antique ship from fransis drakes travels that could cause to a series of adventure and maybe sully has a grand child and talks to nate about that the moment he is dying.Drakes son could then start a an adventure with unexpected turns in its story and if you would turn out like his father aaaand partner with sully's grandchild...
John J. Rambo They don't own Crash. They made those games when they had a deal with a publisher and worked as a second party studio for Sony. What that means is that they never actually owned the rights to any of the games they made, which is why they had to leave Crash behind when Sony bought them to be a first party studio. Activision owns Crash now. Which is why you didn't see him or Sypro in Playstation All Stars and why you won't see a new Crash game by Naughty Dog.
Well yeah ND talent will be for other games, but we could have another dev team do crash...let mark cerny do it. Or let activison do it, idc if its 3rd party multi plat, as long as its a crash game ill be happy.
Why must you tease ND xD i'm only in my first year of college and any form of game design is what i'm hoping to work towards, it's gonna be a long road but hopefully I can get there and if I do I want to work with you guys, wait for me XD
Soooooo what specifically does a game designer do? Or is it more of an umbrella term where you do a little bit of lots of stuff instead of specializing in one thing?
@@t.7527 but what specifically does that mean? Coders, modelers, texture artists, sculptures, etc. could all be considered a game designer. Or is it talking about the people who come up with the story or the layout of the levels. Or do they organize the team like what a producer is in movies. Clarity is all I am asking.
@@foolsanticsstudio Got cha, well the equivalent of a Game Designer in tech would be a UX Designer. The things you listed art, code..etc...all of those are deliverables....a pice pf the project to make the big picture complete. A game designer specifically deals with gameplay mechanics and level layout as well as story in some cases.
Do I need to be an expert in drawing, binary code or scripting? I am planning on changing my major to New Media Tech with a focus on Game Design. But first, I just need some more insight. I have experience in Audio Engineering and Music Production. Any GD's here who can help?
well i'm in no position to give an advice but you should really find what position you want to be in the game industry or what's your end goal. for example if you want to be someone who makes concept design or character design focus on improving your artistic skill.
Please someone help me , i dont know what to do anymore don't know where to look or what to look for its confusing af. I wished to become a Game designer since i was little, and still pursuing that dream but hey i have literally no clue on what i have to do or where i have to go, the course or college i need to do to get some experience in the area, I'd appreciate any help.

I dont wanna be that guy but... dayum that girl is smoking hot !
+Nimbo Totally agree. Her personality makes her even more attractive.
Nimbo She's taken.. by a naughty dog 😅🙃
MindSpyke she got a nice accent too lol. Damn. Even I'd hit it xD
MindSpyke plus she's smart as fuck. ;) Lol
working hard so I can be with you guys as a modeler :3
My dream working in a game company.
my favorite is Uncharted very very goud
@naughtydog I'm 16 and what type of schooling would I need to take to work there
want to know it to:)
+PrankCallsTV i'm from Chile, and sadly we learn nothing in school that would be useful for this
+Invader Charles depends on what you'd like to be. Fun fact is that most of the game developers actually don't want to play their own games they were working on for several years.
i like 3D art, building things and animating but i dont know how to animate though

JUST DO IT
Hows it going
What types of fields are there in game design?
Level design, lighting, animation, audio design, programming etc.
WE STILL WAITING FOR JAk 4
When can we expect a new CRASH BANDICOOT game????????? Please...
Maybe they will get them back someday, either way crash is still a ps exclusive if you think about it...also spyro was a insomniac game.
NextGenNate They said they were trying to steer away from cartoon-style games such as Crash and Jak.
FUCK................
Well yeah ND talent will be for other games, but we could have another dev team do crash...let mark cerny do it.
Or let activison do it, idc if its 3rd party multi plat, as long as its a crash game ill be happy.
+NaughtyDog Will you guys ever return to Crash Bandicoot?
my goal is belong to that team one day
Looks like Naughty Dog really need to recruit, interesting..
Awesome profession!
CD Project Red vs. Naughty Dog
WHO WINS?
aaaa when you gonna put the trailer of THE LAST OF US 2 on your channel a?
I WANT JAK 4

just show me uncharted 4 , I can not wait anymore
Why must you tease ND xD i'm only in my first year of college and any form of game design is what i'm hoping to work towards, it's gonna be a long road but hopefully I can get there and if I do I want to work with you guys, wait for me XD
Nd said it them selfs, a impressive portrait is more looked at then degrees.
Question do I have to have great hair and an impeccable sense of style to work in this department
My dream is to work for them one day....
thank you for the insight
Dommage qu'on peut pas avoir les sous titres en français
Soooooo what specifically does a game designer do? Or is it more of an umbrella term where you do a little bit of lots of stuff instead of specializing in one thing?
You specialize...'Game Design'.
@@t.7527 ah. ok. thanks
Since after The Last Of Us who wants Naughty Dog do a Jurassic World game besides the other one anybody?
They are not that much best without crash bandicoot but I hope they do the most to return him and put him in ps4
and I believe you can make it better than the concept it is right now...jus let me know if interested...I'm still in High school btw...
This bureaucratic structure would explain why it takes so long to build a game, what a waste of resources
We're far beyond binary. For a programmer job, learn languages such as C++.
Blueprints are already a good basis nowadays tbh.
What's with the off-the-shoulder-t-shirt lol...
PoT 2G. I would advise you to go see the extra credits youtube channel they have a bunch of videos that will help you I believe that have one called "so you want to be a GD"
Find a class in school, look it up on how to get started. All the resources you need are out there, you just have to do it. :)
Should make a teen wolf game for consoles
