hello everything is fine? I loved the video. I have a 2015 Macan turbo, tell me if you recommend purchasing it and if I missed any functions like Sport chrono?
I love the 12.3” screen. The only features you’ll lose is whatever sport chrono displays you’ll have in PCM. But you still keep MFD sport chrono display and full sport chrono functionality. You also lose the connection to MFD, so any information you have now like maps is lost. But in my case, these were features I would not use… ever. Thanks for watching.
With all the research you’ve done, I trust your judgement on which Android unit to consider. Before I jump into this one, do know if the units with “NAV, BT” soft buttons suddenly showing up on Alli are the newest ones, or probably previous to the one you installed? Also, did you ever consider the 8” unit from Yanav? It appears to be running the same hardware and version, just on a screen that fits the factory hole. Thanks for your videos - you’re very helpful. -Greg in New Orleans
Hey Greg! Thanks for your support. On your questions…. The unit that said NAV, BT, etc… were early testing units. They changed that to the skip buttons. These are programmable buttons, you can change the function. I saw other Android units but figured that it was not worth it in my view, as they are not significantly different from PCM screen size and rather would stay with PCM. That was my rationale.
I guess the wider screen does make it worth it. I’m pretty sure I’m going to jump into this. I assume you went for the highest memory/RAM option? We’re you able to retain the factory rear camera? Any thoughts on adding a front camera? AliExpress has a kit that snaps into the grill for a factory look. I’d love the 3D option, but doubt I want that level of tinkering to get it right.
@@gregr8349 Yes, I went for higher mem/ram. Not sure one needs that though. Probably the cheaper model with less memory will do as well for what I use it for. Yes, it preserves the factory camera. I didn’t install any additional camera. I’m OK with reverse only.
Hello, which one did you purchase I see there is several links but different prices? Do the vents work well after the change? Also, any issues such as having to reprogram at the dealership or problems after installation? Very interested in buying it looks amazing! Great informative videos 😊
I purchased the DaiNav unit. The vents are functional… you will lose a bit of flow, but it is not that much. No need to reprogram anything at the dealership. If you connect a diagnostic tool, you will see a couple of passive faults related to the removal of the PCM, but that are passive and nothing that will impede function of the vehicle. You won’t even see those faults unless you connect a diagnostic tool. You will lose the PCM integration in the MultiFunction display, like the maps and ability to see what is playing. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching and for your support!…. Hope you are subscribed to the channel.
Nice install Does the dashboard still show the radio channels, Music info etc. ? And can you still use the steering wheel controls to adjust sound etc? Thanks
Thanks. No, the information you refer to comes from PCM. Since PCM is removed, there is no way to connect the Fakra wire that sends signal to the instrument panel MFD. On the steering wheel control, only a few controls remain. I describe that in detail in this video.

I’m not sure I understand your question, but, if you have PCM3.1 you need to use a MOST25 fiber converter. PCM4.0 uses MOST150 and is not compatible, hence they can’t be used interchangeable.
I'm still fighting to get the DSP working properly. Have you ever had that issue? All of my speaker play at the same volume no matter how I set the bias. I was told by the factory that has to do with the CANBUS unit. The CANBUS screen says I have LuZheng, Porsche, Macan which seems correct. Any suggestions? BTW, I think this is the Fiber Optic Decoder Most that you replaced with one off Amazon - but I'm not really sure. I bought that but have not installed it because it lacks the fiber optic link to the radio control unit that the original has.
Do you have Bose or an aftermarket amp? The output levels and channel gains are set in the amplifier, and if you have Bose there is no access to it. I think you can have some control over subwoofer from the unit, but I think that’s it. The DSP in the unit allows you to tune the audio using a number of frequency ranges. It is more helpful than the PCM3.1 which only has treble and bass. I don’t think this is a function of the CANBUS. CANBUS is the interface with car functions. And you do have the right selection in the CANBUS. You can get now a SPDIF to MOST conversion box in AliExpress. I will post link later on. But I can tell you that the Amazon box, although it uses the analog input, it has more definition in its output.
@@porscheDIY Thanks. I've written to the seller for help. They are the ones who asked about CANBUS but might not have know if that was the correct issue to chase. Great job mr Santrix!!! I have a question....my unit recognizes the USB, but the Music Player screen would not show the tracks nor I can play directly from the USB. Do you happen to know how to do this? Thanks in Advance.
Hi, thank you for sharing. Question - just received something similar for Panamera...but cant seem to figure out why i dont have video for my 360degree cameras..is there any settings that i need to do? Thanks
Try this: BACK UP CAM For back up video , go into factory settings, and look for “Switch Backup Camera” Set that to default , and reboot, and test. If you need a code to access factory settings, use 3368.
@@dallyde I’m glad you got this to work. I missed your Panamera comment and assumed you had the Macan. So Canbus correspondingly needs to be in Panamera High. It seems you addressed this.
Yes all good. I didn't know that I have to reboot the system after all the settings ,. Now i am waiting the sound modulator ( the one that u recommended) as the one that came with is not that great . Also probably will do this to my wife's macan....can't get away 😅
If you look at the video, you’ll see that you will still have access to Canbus related controls from the Android unit. But you will lose certain things that you have with PCM. In my case, and most of who have done this change, these are things that are really not important and never used and actually don’t even miss right now. You will also lose communication between PCM and MFD. There is a wire that connects between the two that you won’t be using anymore. That is sending nav and music information to the MFD.
There is no installation manual. Did you follow my installation video? Did you have PCM3.1 with Bose? If so, did you wire the MOST25 converter appropriately?
@@astrokok Rear view camera is a yellow RCA connector that comes out of the quad hardness adapter, and it connects to another wire that goes to the rear of the unit. You’ll see that in my video. If the connection is OK, then a few things you need to check. You need to go to hidden menu in settings (the one that ask you for a passcode), the passcode is 3368, and change rear view camera parameters there. If you have a single rear view camera and the settings are for surround, you will have issues. The settings need to match what you have. If the settings are fine, you need to remember that when placing car in reverse, you need to take e-brake off in order for the camera to activate.
All these units run on Android OS. However, as you can see in the video, I run CarPlay on it. These type of units will allow you to run either CarPlay or Android Auto. So, if you use CarPlay, you’ll be fine with this unit.

Did you solve your issue? There is a wire that had a RCA connector which connects to the rear of the unit… you connect that yellow RCA to the RCA plug coming out of the Quad cable adapter. To test, you need to release e-brake and put in reverse. If that doesn’t work, you need to go into settings (hidden menu) and make sure you select the right camera configuration. If you have 360, you need to select that. If you have rear view, then select rear view only. The passcode for hidden menu is 3368.
@@dannythebest1008 Oh, I didn’t know you had PCM4.0. PCM4.0 uses MOST150 and you will need a specific converter box for MOST150. Most of the converter boxes out there are for MOST25, which is what PCM3.1 use. Did you tell the seller that you had PCM4 and that you needed a MOST150 converter?

Thanks for your kind words. The reason I do these videos is so that I don’t have to do other installations. I think that if you decide to do it, you can do it.
have purchased a very similar unit for my range rover. Lots of people on line slatting me saying the audio quality from these android units is shit. How do you find the sound quality?
Thanks for watching! The audio quality is as good, if not better, than PCM. You also have more options for tuning with the equalizer, vs bass and treble in PCM.
What is the best model to buy?I know they have it now with out the speed limit logo. Can you send me the link? Thanks
Thanks for watching. The link is in the video description (all the links you need actually).
Yes, they don’t have the red speed dot anymore.
Great job mr Santrix!!!
I have a question....my unit recognizes the USB, but the Music Player screen would not show the tracks nor I can play directly from the USB.
Do you happen to know how to do this? Thanks in Advance.
I’m not sure and I haven’t used this capability. Did you solve the issue?
Yes, thank you. After playing with the menus and settings for a couple of days, to my utter delight, found it to be working all of a sudden!
Hi, thank you for sharing. Question - just received something similar for Panamera...but cant seem to figure out why i dont have video for my 360degree cameras..is there any settings that i need to do? Thanks
Try this: BACK UP CAM
For back up video , go into factory settings, and look for “Switch Backup Camera”
Set that to default , and reboot, and test. If you need a code to access factory settings, use 3368.
Also, make sure CanBus is set to Cayanne High or Macan High
Thank you...working now.
Jak po kilku miesiącach sprawuje Ci się stacja? Czy masz z nią jakieś problemy? Zastanawiam się, czy swojej nie zmienić na tą co ty masz. Pozdrawiam
Is working very well so far.
Can I still access the Porsche menu's?
If you look at the video, you’ll see that you will still have access to Canbus related controls from the Android unit. But you will lose certain things that you have with PCM. In my case, and most of who have done this change, these are things that are really not important and never used and actually don’t even miss right now.
You will also lose communication between PCM and MFD. There is a wire that connects between the two that you won’t be using anymore. That is sending nav and music information to the MFD.
Hi Santrix, I’m installing my unit, but I happen to have no sound. Do you have any ideas or suggestions for me? Is there an installation manual?
There is no installation manual. Did you follow my installation video? Did you have PCM3.1 with Bose? If so, did you wire the MOST25 converter appropriately?
@@porscheDIY I just managed to do that :) sound works great now. But still trying to figure out my rear view camera
Do you know of a similar unit with Apple CarPlay?
All these units run on Android OS. However, as you can see in the video, I run CarPlay on it. These type of units will allow you to run either CarPlay or Android Auto. So, if you use CarPlay, you’ll be fine with this unit.
Hi, in order to upgrade the stereo did you change the dash trim and the Air vents? If you did it where did you buy them?
Cześć, jaki system jest w tym radiu (TS10?) czy coś innego? Możesz podać specyfikę tego radia. Na aliexpress są tylko ogólne dane. Zastanawiam się nad wymianą mojego właśnie na ten model co Ty masz.
I’m not sure, I’m not an expert in Android radio OS. But if you let me know specifically what you want to see, I can provide the information to you.
Cześć, czy wyszły jakieś aktualizacje oprogramowania? I czy coś poprawiły?
I need help with my cables, my camera doesnt work and i have no sound. Can someone please help me?
Did you solve your issue? There is a wire that had a RCA connector which connects to the rear of the unit… you connect that yellow RCA to the RCA plug coming out of the Quad cable adapter. To test, you need to release e-brake and put in reverse. If that doesn’t work, you need to go into settings (hidden menu) and make sure you select the right camera configuration. If you have 360, you need to select that. If you have rear view, then select rear view only. The passcode for hidden menu is 3368.
On the sound, make sure you check wiring on the MOST25 converter box. See video again.
@@porscheDIY will check thx!
@@porscheDIY Is that different for pcm 4.0? I have a connector with double optics cable going to the pcm 4.0 converter box
I have this unit. DAINAV will not respond to support requests. Anyone else ????
You are correct Teddis. Is unfortunate that after-sales support on this unit is so bad. I can’t, in good conscience, continue to recommend DaiNav. I’m going to have to rescore the SANTIRX’s score based on the after-sales support to 0 with DaiNav. With a score of 0, this unit gets an overall recalculated score of 68.
Wow, with all of your followers this will hurt them, too bad it has fallen from grace..@@porscheDIY
We were able to get DaiNav to respond to some of our requests. They finally sent me the launcher update. And they are investigating other potential updates.
There is still no response from DAINAV……anyone else ?
Thanks!
@@dan6698 Thanks so much…☺️
