God is a timeless being. He is outside of the dimension of time and thus eternal. The universe consists of space, matter and time. It is reasonable to say God created the universe because He is spaceless, timeless and immaterial. Another point is that the universe is winding down which means at one point it was wound up, thus it cannot be eternal, meaning it had a beginning.

If the universe is bound by space, time and matter, the creator of the universe must transcend these three things. Thus, the being who made the universe is spaceless, timeless and immaterial. God was not created because He is outside of time. He is outside of the time dimension and if He is outside the time dimension, He had no beginning and He won't have an end. The universe can't be timeless because it is running down. If something is running down then it had to have begun to run at one point. Also, saying that the universe is timeless implies that the universe extends infinitely into the past. If that is the case, we could not have ever gotten to today because we would have an infinite number of days to cross to get here. It all had to do with the way one perceives time. Time is generally an illusion. If you see God as a timeless God, then it would eliminate the fact that He had a beginning(which obviously is an aspect of time). When you think of God as time bound, then such questions arise. It's hard to imagine at first but if you accept the fact that God never had a beginning, and you understand that time is only a fact that our brains want us to perceive, then you begin see why no one created God and how he has always existed...don't imagine a beginning... Just see God as always been there. In that way time doesn't play a role and you would get the idea of how God isn't restricted by time to have been created by someone. The word "created" itself is in the past. God doesn't have a past present or future. Our mind makes us perceive time that way. Our past is only memories, our future is just our imaginations and thoughts, and our present is just our sense of self..that is human. God is not limited by human perception. Therefore you can't say God was created. God is an entity that isn't limited by what we know as time or space etc. God was not created. And plus you can't also say God created himself too. That too lies with time. And God as I said isn't limited by time. Even me saying he has always existed is wrong but it is at least near the truth of what is actually the nature of God...not time bound.
I used to be a believer, but now i'm a skeptic. I started to ask questions about Who, What, Where, When, Why and How I started to believe. Some i could answer..., Some i could not. Why couldn't I answer all the questions? Only ONE clear answer in my mind. I just don't know if GOD is real. I don't know how all things came to be. I just have my theories and that's it. But at the moment i can't put GOD in my theories or just think he was always there like I used to. Everything has to be made for it to exist. A table, your phone, your mom, a spoon, the color blue, an idea. No maters what it is it HAS to be made In order to exist. So..if god is real and he really made us then who tf made HIM??

God isn't a being that comes from somewhere, He's just a Being that is. He always was and He always will be. He is timeless. If you think about this in relation to the creation of the universe this makes sense. The evidence we have shows that the universe had a beginning and that space, matter, and time came into existence at that beginning (all three came into existence at the same time). Now, if these three things came into existence at the beginning of the universe, whatever caused them must transcend them (after all, space, matter, and time can't exist before they're created). This means that the cause of the universe must be at least spaceless, timeless, and immaterial. There are other conclusions we can draw, but from here we can already see that whatever Being created the universe is timeless. A timeless being doesn't have a beginning or an end, it just is (as I said before). Regarding dimensions, you could say that God exists in a different dimension (a transcendent one) but saying that He stumbled onto a dimension is inaccurate. He didn't stumble onto an empty dimension and create a universe in it, He created the dimension we now call our universe. I think this should address your question. If not, let me know.

Primary reason I'm not an atheist these days. I was always a science based guy from a young age and struggled with it for many years but now it's clear to me that God makes the most sense. When categorising things we demonstrate their properties so we can know how to categorise them. So before we can categories God as "Uncreated" we first have to demonstrate that he is indeed uncreated. We can't just assign him a category by definition. Definition don't assign things properties; Properties assign things their definitions.

The problem is one of definitions. That which we call "God" is NOT simply a Being. THAT is the idea at the root of much confusion. The Bible explains what God is, but few have understood (as I explain in my book "The Holy Grail is Found.") Once you understand what God is you realize that God is Reality Itself. And Reality, by definition, is rational. However, LIMITATION is, by definition, IRRATIONAL. And the Universe of our sense perceptions is limited and therefore irrational...which tells us that the Universe of our perceptions is an ILLUSION; a VIRTUAL reality, and NOT Reality Itself (as the Eastern religions have long taught). WE ARE CURRENTLY UNAWARE OF REALITY (GOD) BECAUSE WE ARE INSTEAD BUSY PERCEIVING ILLUSIONS (THE MATERIAL UNIVERSE). You are here today and gone tomorrow. Where did you come from and where do you go? REALITY. And why did you leave Reality and come here to experience a universe of limitation; a VIRTUAL reality? There is no such thing as a created god, god just defines a being that is eternal self sufficient etc, known scientifically as a necesary existence. My contention is that a nessecary existence must exist because there is stuff that exists now., hence it is 'necessary' for it to exist. You could say that the universe had a cause of big bang, the big bang had a cause of a anoither universe, but what was the cause for that universe? etc so on for infinity. Infinite regress does not work as if you were in a infinite queue, you will never reach the front, in other words infinite regress leads to nothing existsing, thus a first, uncaused eternal cause must exist, which cannot be the universe as big bang occured

Simply because God does not need to be a creature, time is something specific to the creature, God is the one who created time. Look at the cosmic expansion resulting from the Big Bang proven by scientific evidence, some stars died and disappeared millions of years ago, but we still see them, why?? Because we see the past, and after millions of years, if someone remains on this planet, he will see that it has disappeared, so you see the past, and as long as you see the past, time is relative according to Einstein's theory, time for God has no meaning, does your mind understand the idea?? The first basic attribute of God is that no one made it. Yes! God can only be an entity that no one has created. If someone says that so-and-so is God and that so-and-so created him, then he will be anything but not God.
We can also understand this through science. Did the egg or the hen come first in the world? To date, science has not been able to find an answer to this question. Well, the egg came first or the hen both came into being without any material existence. This means that existence without a Creator is before our eyes. In fact, humans took place in an environment where they saw everything around them being created from a source, and this created the impression in human's consciousness that just as there is a Creator of everything, so there is a Creator of the Creator too. This is a very absurd thought. The creation of things from things is one of the basic principles of our universe. It is not necessary that the one who invented the chain of birth be subject to it. Because the Creator can never fit into His creation, it is against His nature. Creation is a manifestation of His essence which cannot in any way encompass anything of the Creator.

God is a timeless being. He is outside of the dimension of time and thus eternal. The universe consists of space, matter and time. It is reasonable to say God created the universe because He is spaceless, timeless and immaterial. Another point is that the universe is winding down which means at one point it was wound up, thus it cannot be eternal, meaning it had a beginning.

The God I'm speaking of is the God of the Bible. In Psalm 90:2, the person writing the Psalm says (speaking of God) that before the mountains were born or You brought forth the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. However, you don't need Biblical text to reason that whatever god made the universe is timeless. If the universe is bound by space, time and matter, the creator of the universe must transcend these three things. Thus, the being who made the universe is spaceless, timeless and immaterial. God was not created because He is outside of time. He is outside of the time dimension and if He is outside the time dimension, He had no beginning and He won't have an end. The universe can't be timeless because it is running down. If something is running down then it had to have begun to run at one point. Also, saying that the universe is timeless implies that the universe extends infinitely into the past. If you see God as a timeless God, then it would eliminate the fact that He had a beginning(which obviously is an aspect of time). When you think of God as time bound, then such questions arise. Just see God as always been there. In that way time doesn't play a role and you would get the idea of how God isn't restricted by time to have been created by someone. The word "created" itself is in the past. God doesn't have a past present or future. Our mind makes us perceive time that way. Our past is only memories, our future is just our imaginations and thoughts, and our present is just our sense of self..that is human. God is not limited by human perception. Therefore you can't say God was created. God is an entity that isn't limited by what we know as time or space etc. God was not created. And plus you can't also say God created himself too. That too lies with time. And God as I said isn't limited by time. Even me saying he has always existed is wrong but it is at least near the truth of what is actually the nature of God...not time bound.

I understand this can be confusing at first, but once you get your head around it, it starts to make more sense. I'll try to explain this in a way that helps get to the bottom of the question where God came from and see why that question doesn't apply to him.
God is what is known as the uncaused first cause. In other words, He is the being that was never caused. He has no beginning and He will have no end. He is eternal. So suggesting that God came from anywhere is a category fallacy as the guy said in the video. The category fallacy occurs because the questioner assumes that God is a Being that comes from somewhere when that isn't the case. God isn't a being that comes from somewhere, He's just a Being that is. He always was and He always will be. He is timeless. If you think about this in relation to the creation of the universe this makes sense. The evidence we have shows that the universe had a beginning and that space, matter, and time came into existence at that beginning (all three came into existence at the same time). Now, if these three things came into existence at the beginning of the universe, whatever caused them must transcend them (after all, space, matter, and time can't exist before they're created). This means that the cause of the universe must be at least spaceless, timeless, and immaterial. There are other conclusions we can draw, but from here we can already see that whatever Being created the universe is timeless. A timeless being doesn't have a beginning or an end, it just is (as I said before).
Regarding dimensions, you could say that God exists in a different dimension (a transcendent one) but saying that He stumbled onto a dimension is inaccurate. He didn't stumble onto an empty dimension and create a universe in it, He created the dimension we now call our universe. I think this should address your question. If not, let me know.

The problem is one of definitions. That which we call "God" is NOT simply a Being. THAT is the idea at the root of much confusion. The Bible explains what God is, but few have understood (as I explain in my book "The Holy Grail is Found.") Once you understand what God is you realize that God is Reality Itself. And Reality, by definition, is rational. However, LIMITATION is, by definition, IRRATIONAL. There is no such thing as a created god, god just defines a being that is eternal self sufficient etc, known scientifically as a necesary existence. My contention is that a nessecary existence must exist because there is stuff that exists now., hence it is 'necessary' for it to exist. You could say that the universe had a cause of big bang, the big bang had a cause of a anoither universe, but what was the cause for that universe? etc so on for infinity. Infinite regress does not work as if you were in a infinite queue, you will never reach the front, in other words infinite regress leads to nothing existsing, thus a first, uncaused eternal cause must exist, which cannot be the universe as big bang occured

need to be a creature, time is something specific to the creature, God is the one who created time. Look at the cosmic expansion resulting from the Big Bang proven by scientific evidence, some stars died and disappeared millions of years ago, but we still see them, why?? We can never know how everything is made from nothing. Imagine that there is a empty black space without matter, without time, without anything but nothing. Did God just appear with a blink of an eye. without cause and creator? I am a Christian and I believe in God but what concerns me at all is How something made up from nothing.
