I have done jelly roll races in the past. I recently obtained 50 fat quarters at an estate sale. This is perfect! Glad I found your video! Thanks!

I did make a jelly roll race quilt top but it is just a WIP 🚧 now. I should finish it… I love the fabrics you chose and I love the fact that your jelly roll race is really broken up because of the shortness of the fat quarters. I like that much better than the original way. It seems more pleasing to the eye.
Thank you for the video and I’d love to see more.❤️

I had the strips all cut out. Three weeks ago. I sat down today to finish the quilt but for some reason could not pull You Tube up on the computer in my sewing room. So I sewed the strips end to end but not 2.5" to 3.5" to 2.5 ". I sewed a 2.5" to a 3.5 twice and ended up with 2 2.5 " strips. At that I point quit sewing sewing for the day. I came upstairs and found you fine on this computer.. It is going to be interesting to see what I end up with. Not wrong just another variation of a fat quarter race.

If you cut off rectangles (you need 2 seam allowances together for the triangles) first from the ends of one stack of 2 1/2" strips, or just half of each stack , to make 2 1/2" hsts, 2×each, you could make hsts to put on the ends and get a straight edge, fancy joiner, and alternate the strip lengths as you sew, to make it more random. Cut one straight strip in half, put it on the other end of same one, andoff you go.
