Oh Gayle! Thank You Thank You! You are the best. I was one of those that ask. You have shown me that I don’t have to be afraid of the material. You have made beautiful pieces I can’t wait for you to stitch them. This video has helped me more than you can know. Thank you again and also thank you for the information you always give us to the places your items are purchased. ❤🐇😀

Lovely! A few years ago I made rectangular quilted pieces and then made them into bags to hang on walkers that I gave to the local nursing homes. Little did I know that the basic piece could be folded into a journal cover!!! I'm not quilting so much anymore but I'm getting into the journals! I love how fabric and paper are so compatible! TFS🤗

You inspired me a few years ago to try slow stitching and I’ve just loved it. I watched a few others on the process but I appreciate your keeping them on the simpler side. I do get a few ideas from people like Rachel but they are mostly way out of my league. I go on trips with my church and always take slow stitching for the bus ride. I’ve inspired a few others to join me and one of them brought a kit to make a needle book. It turned out soooo cute. And then I see you have one. I never knew I needed a book for my needles and pins to live in. But apparently I do. I’m requesting that you show us making one without a kit. Just a thought. Anyway, I loved watching you put them together. ❤❤❤

I’m so sorry Betsy. My son is 33 and we share a house. I know this time is coming as well because his big Great Pyrenees/Australian Shepard is about 13 and having lots of issues getting around. It’s really hard losing our furry family and seeing our children hurt. ❤

Good Morning Gayle: Here's how to use your metal or plastic shank style buttons in your projects. If metal, take a pair of pliers & twist the shank off. If plastic, a pair of nips should easily cut the shank. I use Aleene's Tacky Glue to hold in place on paper/cardstock. FabriTac works for fabric. Now, you'll always have the perfect button! Hugs, Donna From the Jersey Shore

Hi Gayle, I sew a lot so I have sewing type suggestions. The open cut work can be completely covered on the back and if you change your mind, just cut the fabric from beneath the decorations. That way it will be supported and/or open. This method can be used for all your lace work. The tip about the buttons below is also great, so buttons will not be a challenge any more. Take care and I love your channel.

I love putting the pieces together for slow stitch projects. Most of the time it is abstract...kind of mini crazy quilt/collage style. I have several in progress, but I HATE pins. As soon as I get a base pinned I "invisible stitch" it like I learned from Rachel and Sarah at Roxy Creations and then I can just take them out and work on them when I want. I also started keeping bits I'm using on my more involved projects in plastic ziplock bags like you do your kit fussy cuts. I got the idea from you and haven't lost any important parts since! Thank you. ☺️💜
I also safety pin or bulb pin things to the fabric (like buttons or charms) until I can sew them.

I’ve watched you put together your fabrics for covers, belly bands and fabric flips many times and I’m still amazed at how gorgeous they look with so many different pieces together. You really make it look easy, but that still doesn’t stop me from shouting, “there Gayle”. You must have excellent hearing to be able to hear me all the way from Australia because sometimes that’s exactly where you put it. Lol. Especially love those Bunny dodads. (Technical name)

Beautiful work, thank you for sharing your process. I made a cover for a journal for my sis-in-law but I totally didn't know what I was doing. It turned out okay, but now I can see what I did wrong by putting the fabric on a hard surface then making the book out of it, I like just the fabric itself without the hard surface underneath. But it was my first, so I am learning. I think I might just give one of these other kits a try. Take care and thank you again.

Fun stuff. I love the slow stitching projects but the "slow" part is what stops me from doing it a lot. Time is always a key issue ue for me. I can't gather all the stuff I need just to do I project at a time...I want to do several to make it worthwhile hauling out all my stuff. The exception is when I make yo-yo's. Fabric scraps, needle, thread and scissors is all I need to do those. 😁 TFS Hope you have a great day. 🌞

Love slow stitching. I have never seen it but I think I want to try to put one of these together for a cover and then use fun stitching from the machine in the different areas instead of slow stitching. Just for something different. May turn out a hot mess or it could be cool. Not sure yet! Haha
