If you feel you have too many strips to stamp words on, I am sure you could list them on your Etsy shop, throw them in a regular envelope, put a stamp on them and send them out. I know, I, for one, would LOVE to purchase those. I don't have any. 😮❤

These collages turned out great. I have saved some newspapers from when my children were born, my grandmother saved newspapers from inferential occasions. I’d like to do a journal for each of my kids with photos of family including ancestors. Having collaged newspapers from old events would be good to include.

Hello Gayle: I am late getting to spend time with you today. I love old documents so I am enjoying this video. I had a real find yesterday when I was volunteering at the Thrift Store. I retrieved a book of Christmas music that is very old and the pages are nicely yellowed. As it was in the trash and free that is the best price. 😄 Thanks for sharing. Big Hugs. 💕

@@rowenaroberts813 I use Inka Gold on edges sometimes, but haven’t used gold foil. Mostly because I don’t think I have any. 🥴

I really like this collage I love the papers
1922, that was when my dad was born, he's been gone for 26 years. Man how time flies by. Thank you for sharing. I will definitely be creating some of these master boards.

I think they turned out great! A little lace would be nice too. I have been wanting to put together some old family documents to copy for scrapbooking use. Only for family though, not to sell. You too, Cherri! I’m not a copyright expert at all. There are videos from other folks you might check. As far as I know, I can use books or documents published after 1924ish in things to sell. But don’t go by me. Do some research. Like I say, I’m no expert. 🥴❤️

Good morning Gayle. So lovely as always to spend my morning with you. I am done with my first ever soft cover journal and am starting on my second. This one has a cloth and lace cover, but the inside cover is a paper. My question is, do I crease the paper in the center (spine) before I glue it down as the inside cover? Thanks for all you do. Hi Gayle ~ I hope you scanned some of those vintage checks and documents before you tore them up. I can't find stuff like that, so like to buy digitals of some that others found. I couldn't tear up the actual vintage docs anyway, and would hoard it too!

Did you see the smaller print under the MAX KATZ BAG CO.? "Anything to be made out of BURLAP...we can do it" Seems like burlap is coming out in a bunch of your videos. Just the other day you found some in with your stringy bits and before that you were looking for burlap for your cowboy journal. 🤔🧐🤷🏼♀️😂. This was fun seeing your old stuff. Nope didn’t scan as these are my use ‘em ups! But I have a pile as tall as me to scan and already have lots of vintage letters and ephemera pieces digitals in my Etsy Shop. 👍❤️

Hello Gayle, I tried the matte photo paper, it didn't work. Out of 5 pieces of fabric, only one came out brighter and better, a gold fabric. The bright colorful one came out good, but the regular printer paper did the same, there was no difference. As for the another 2 fabrics they came out just as bad as with regular printer paper. One came out even worse, a green glitter dot kind of fabric. My printer is a Canon inkjet all in one photo printer. So, bottom line, I guess I am better off just printing with regular paper or card stock. It definitely was worth a try, and I really appreciate your help, but I guess if I want a better print I can always get a printing shop to print it then make copies with my printer. I haven't tried this yet, but maybe it will work. The one is white with light blue floral pattern, and I so want this one. Thanks again for your help, I appreciate it. Love your videos, you do amazing things. Keep up the great videos, love them all!

How about using book page or junk mail for the backing (in keeping with ‘scraps’ or ‘use it up’) instead of new copy paper?
Absolutely and I usually do use those for collage bases, but for my digital master boards I want something I know is straight and flat, so it scans well. I also don’t want anything showing through when I scan it. 👍❤️
@@gayleagostinelli_ct Aah, showing through. I used to not want anything showing through but then I decided it gave more character lol. But because you're scanning to sell as digitals that makes sense!! Keep using your stash, no hoarding, lol.

Hello Gayle! You settled my anxiety by saying from the gitgo that you were MAKING scraps as well as using them in Scrappy Saturday. I'm not the scrappy police, but I wondered what to you determine will be a candidate for scraps over using the paper, page, etc. as a whole? How much forethought is there for you when deciding? Just curious. Kind regards! 💗 P.S. I can't wait to purchase those master boards!

Is your printer also a copier? You CAN have both sides & eat them, too!!
Unfinished bases are not truly unfinished projects. Think of them as you do as fussy cut ephemera pieces or your blank folded pages. They are the tools for creating finished pieces of ephemera, no different than standing by for use in the journals.
Good Day Gayle, I just discovered you so I am binge watching you and I am wondering, I bought the glitter glue that you use however How do you ever keep the tip of the metal piece clear? I have left the needle in and it dries so I can't get it out, I have taken it off and rinsed it and put the black top back on and I still have so many issues, I see a few people use it and seemingly without issue. you have a cute little topper for it, can you help me please. thank you...OH and I love watching you. I am making the ephemera album with you right now....

@@gayleagostinelli_ct Thank you so much. Now I have another question after watching this video, Alot of people will not use glue stick due to the short term hold. Do you put a layer of modpodge on them and then what do you do with them? Thanks, I love your work.
@@dawnweeber6400 I don’t have any problems with my Uhu Glue coming unstuck. I have glue books from five years ago where the collage is still stuck. A good glue stick like, Uhu, and using a generous amount works fine for me for longevity. The only time I use Mod Podge over a collage is if I’m using it for a cover. Hope that helps! ❤️
