You probably know this by now. It is 0W 20 oil. That only comes as synthetic due to how thin it is. However, the manual says Nissan 0W 20 or a synthetic of the same viscosity which leads me to believe the Nissan brand is a synthetic blend. It cannot be pure standard conventional oil. But it would be nice if they offered info on this. Nissan makes its own filters. Not everyone uses them. There are comparable filters in many brands. Nissan (and other places) sells the copper crush washer. I had a garage change my oil. Then I had to look all this stuff up to make sure what they did was correct. I had to get synthetic oil for the reason I said. I am most worried about the washer. I hope they changed it, so my oil doesn't leak.

You should do one of you changing the cvt transmission oil i hear that at 25000 miles its recommended, especially since its ths #1 problem nissan has cvt transmission giving out under 50000 miles

To be fair the bigger(compared to this one) CVT, usually used in the Altima and Rogue is the one that really fails so early.

Please do regarding CVT oil. Just had my CVT oil changed this morning. Mileage of My Kicks 2018 is 90 kilometers. Nissan Service Center said my cvt oil iwas dirty and needs ti be changed.

Change at 60K miles, then every 30K miles from that point on.

Odd to me that the oil drain plug is on the side of the oil pan and not closer to the bottom. Looks like about an inch of oil would remain in the pan after draining. I would use an extractor to drain this car.

Yeah kicks is a good car. We haven’t seen too many problems with them, so far CVT‘s haven’t been given to many problems.

@@johnthemechanic3360 My 2020 Versa (Same engine and trans as the kicks) has been pretty strong CVT wise at 83k miles. I am noticing however that sometimes it will kinda jump when accelerating from standstill. Is this normal for a cvt? It’s very random

@@Claroboy911 That's good to know that your car is doing well. In answer to your question, if it is a small hesitation and then it jumps forward, yes; I sometimes feel that with my Kicks. I just got my oil changed, and I think that is happening less. However, since the oil change, I can hear the "fake" shift better at around 38 MPH. I kind of wish they had not added the fake shift. Do you change your transmission fluid and both filters and clean the pan of shavings every 20,000-30,000 miles? Mechanics say to do that to keep the transmission from failing. The manual does not say that, but mechanics on TH-cam do say that.
