    Great Improvements on not only the hooves but the coat as well. You are always kind to the horse and your work is excellent. Special blessings for the owners who take in an equine like that and give it a great home.

    Poor baby! It's so sad and heartbreaking to see this sweet and cute girl neglected and the hooves in bad condition. Fortinately she is in the care of good people. Needles to say your work is excellent. It's obvious how much you love and care for these precious babies. Good luck to you. All the best.🐴🐎😂😀

    Love how to go back to the first video to show each part of the foot and the improvement on each section. Can see the difference in the laminae (excuse if I spelt this wrong 😂) well done to you and to the new owners. Hope the red paint wasn’t too bad 🤣🤣

    Expertly done!! So glad the little one is looking and probably feeling so much better these days… we had a rescue mini in the same condition if not worse…. Poor thing was so sore after each trim but got there….. sadly his broke his leg and had to be put down but he was well loved while we had him!

    So was that still six months between trims?
    Seems like a long time or do you need to leave them that long to recover when that badly overgrown?
    I know you only get to come out when requested.
    Nice work!

    Thanks for this video with a follow up. They are so much more interesting that the regular 'neglegted pony trim'.
    Just wondering... Why are addressing the laminitic toe from the top? I mean, she has no hoofwall halfway up the front. I get it that you want her to break over well, but couldn't that be accomplished with a good roll? Isn't it dangerous to have her hoof exposed so much, with that little wall? Or is that beneficial for the kind of growth that you want?

    I've got a question, what happens with wild horses, "brumbies"? They must have similar issues with their hooves, but they can't be fixed when in the wild? (Australia)

    It's now mid-June . Please tell me the pony has been trimmed at least 4 or 5 times since January!

    • @Peterthefarrier
      @Peterthefarrier  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      She has been on a regular trimming schedule. This was just showing how we started and where we are now.

    • @janetbarkwith
      @janetbarkwith ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Peterthefarrier Oh good! The pony is in good hands, then. She seems to grow a foot quite quickly. It was fascinating to me to see just how far back you took her feet - more than I have ever seen before, and she seemed to be fine with it. I would like to maybe show this video to my trimmer, if I may?

    • @janetbarkwith
      @janetbarkwith ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Didn't mean to come across as critical - apologies if I did. I'm just amazed at how much you took off the front of the foot on that second trim you showed without any discomfort for the pony. Demonstrates what is possible. Thanks for this.

    • @Sine-gl9ly
      @Sine-gl9ly หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@janetbarkwithI think it's _because_ the feet have been trimmed on a regular basis that so much could be taken off without any problem arising. Without regular trimming, one would have to be much more circumspect in order to avoid soreness.

    How do wild horses cope with their hooves? Do they wear down naturally?

    • @Peterthefarrier
      @Peterthefarrier  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes they wear them down naturally in the wild. But as pets they don’t do the same level of walking as a wild horse so we need to trim them.
