The tip you gave about using the spare part to hold the engine up temporarily REALLY helped me a lot. I feel I would’ve had a real hard time with it had I not done that.
I like the color you've selected. I've been seeing this at my LHS and debating whether I should buy it since I am not really into drag cars. But since you just said this kit has all the stock parts as well, and I downloaded the instructions for the original kit a couple of years ago, I may very well follow your advice and put this on my shelf!
B, I think you're talking abut the "third member". That goes under the rear of the transmission tailpiece to keep the drivetrain in alignment. It's used on both versions. PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers. -Doug
Pedro, Not sure myself. Maybe someone here will be able to answer that! -PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers! -Doug
How many coats of blue paint did you put on I just bought one and I’m painting it orange and on the corner of the cowl of the hood it keeps showing the gray primer
BC, Just 2 light coats and 1 wet coat. Light colors are sometimes difficult to use over a darker primer on sharp crowns like that. Try spraying them from a distance so the paint is a little more tacky before it hits the surface. It may take many coats to cover the primer. Next time use a light color primer for those colors! -Doug
This is my very first model car. Will this one be too difficult for a beginner? I put a lot of detail into any work I do but I wanted to get an experts opinion. Thanks
OBA, If this is your first car and you've already built it then you would know what it takes to complete. If it is for someone else that's a beginner it is aimed at intermediate skilled builders. It's not really best for a "first" model! PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers. -Doug
damn yours looks so much better than mine! i had to use paint markers on the body since i dont have an airbrush, is there another way i can get that metallic look?
T, Yes, if you spray light coats on after primer from a spray can of metallic hobby paint it will look good. They offer many metallic paints for the hobbyist! PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers. -Doug
JA, Generally headlights don't need color except for older kit that had chrome plated lenses. Adding a white tint to those can be done with some Elmer's glue or a thinned wash of paint. Turn signals that are adjacent to the headlights can be colored on the inside of the lens covers with clear yellow tint paints from Testors Turn signal Amber or Tamiya Clear Yellow!
139 parts skill level 3 their 2022 German kits the new amazing beautiful lots they have out the 110 parts and up is level 5 almost like they made it easier for millennials I'm joking and glad you did this video I'm going to buy it from hobby lobby next time I'm there or hobby town If they sold out of it or don't have it. My hobby town has a good selection of model car kits and airplanes and boats sndnshipszk5f
Man this model sucks I would love it the fitment is good but it sucks I have already had to crush to kits I just want to say why do you say it's good bro cause it's not I'm very upset all that work for nothing
Brian, Almost every kit needs some adjustments for fit. Even kits that cost 5 times as much! Some, more than others. Carefully studying the instructions and test fitting will produce good results. We think the kit came out pretty nicely and if you don't believe me then just read the comments about the kit here. PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers! -Doug

Mike, I've always been a sucker for trublu!
Great drag build I've been debating about getting this kit but now I've decided I'm picking it up
DP, That's why we're here dude! -Doug
Does that spare part to hold up the engine get used on the 'stock' build of this? I'm not building the drag version. Thanks!

Another great build. Awesome color choice!
DH, Thanks man! -Doug
I'm really thinking about this kit I'm about to push the button to buy lol nice work!!!
BV, The kit is cool but it borrows pieces from others soit not truly accurate to the model and year! -Doug
Should try Tamiya tape for masking the edges. Zero bleedthrough
TM, I know that it helps but I've seen bleed-through with Tamiya tape. I think there are a loot of variables! -Doug
Just bought this kit and was wondering if there's any model car sets for drag wheels like headlocks and other welds

Another great model! It looks fantastic!
Thanks WB! -Doug

T, No problem and welcome to the hobby. You can get metallic spray paint at a hobby shop or online at sites like Hobbylinc. -Doug
Looks great. I'll get to building this kit someday. Do you gotta use the wing? Couldn't tell if any holes need to filled for that or not.
JP, Cool, you don't have to use the wing! -Doug
Nice Build !

I’m new to model cars your videos have been awesome to watch. Just picked this up as my second kit. How do you about adding color to the headlights?
JA, Generally headlights don't need color except for older kit that had chrome plated lenses. Adding a white tint to those can be done with some Elmer's glue or a thinned wash of paint. Turn signals that are adjacent to the headlights can be colored on the inside of the lens covers with clear yellow tint paints from Testors Turn signal Amber or Tamiya Clear Yellow!
Right On Replicas Sorry, yeah that’s what I mean, the amber lights and such. Thank you for that quick reply!
JA, Kinda thought maybe! -Doug
I'm lowering mine so it has that no prep look with fully gutted interior with a newer mustang motor with full wiring

Nice fox body mustang. A drag race cop car mustang lx would cool.
SV, Revell actually released a 1990 Mustang 5.0 LX Police Car kit #85-4252 a while back! -Doug
when you say height of car do you measure from ground or chassis?
JK, Good question.. From ground to top of highest body panel! -Doug
neat one...those were kool cars
Thanks Rob, glad you liked it! -Doug
i would think for the race car you would not use the airpump like on the stock street car
JB - That's probably a good option unless your using it as a baffle or something! -Doug
Sometimes, i'm a fan of mustangs, look at these rear drag tires though, that's tremendous.
WC, What's not to love, right? -Doug
I have two of these one drift car and one car is going to get a coyote and tube front about to get a third to make a stock drag street car thing
Cameron, Very cool! -PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers! -Doug
Can't you just build the chassis then put the engine in?
DB, Lot's of good stuff lately. You should sub and get notifications! -Doug
A drag car that has drum brakes
RB, Yep! -Doug
