It's pretty obvious these guys are not paid much, removing all the chatter marks with an angle grinder on something that size is going to take a very long time. (I would guess he has carpal tunnel within a few years ?)
I wondered about the welding on top of screw but realised it was some form of very hard material when they started grinding on it so it's a smart way to get a 'soft' steel good wear characteristics and saves heat treating a 'better' steel part.
The shop looks like it's pretty damp though with all the rust on everything, including the part being machined, probably took a few days?
I hope the cameraman is giving a share of any money from You tube to the workers he's filming, they deserve it for putting up with him
The only thing that's amazing, is the lathe under this conditions still is running.

There are materials that they are using to manufacture parts but Iam sure there are no set of eyes for them on the shelves or at the Phamarcy if they loose one. Safety comes first.
That's the difference between kids like you and mature men. We knew enough not to text and drive but you kids had to ruin even talking on the phone and driving, just like we also paid attention to which directions the sparks go and what is dangerous and what is very unlikely. that screw is used for plastic extrusion or injection, it must be fully polished and hardened by chemical heat treatment

I have never seen anyone beat and chip notches into a grinding disk. That’s an explosion waiting to happen. Someone is going to get disemboweled doing that dumb shit
Look at that chatter when he’s roughing out the screw. You can see it from a mile away. I’m not so sure that could even be considered cutting by normal machining standards. Normal chips are very sharp c, 6, or 9 shapes yet they are basically using the brute force of the lathe and the hardness of the hss cutter to tear off metal. The tearing at 10:21 shows it real good. This stuff makes us machinists in the states cringe but I still find it interesting and watch it 🤷🏻♂️.

Ok, the giant fabricated “tool post grinder setup” I get, but what was the stationary grinding wheel all haphazardly “clamped” to the tool post and with its “side” face (and a radius ground/wore into its face) just pressed against the periphery of the fast turning screw-what was the purpose of that after you just OD ground the screw prior to that?
