I am on SSDI bc of Bipolar 1 Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder and severe anxiety. I was awarded disability in 4 months bc I had a history, at that time, of 10 years. I look and act totally fine, no one would ever guess how ill I am. People can be ill/sick/disabled so terribly and you’d never know it from the outside. I suffer so badly.
@@melissat3341 I would like to know as well. I have a lot of the same issues, but despite having the medical records and a psychiatrist's support, and hiring a lawyer, I keep getting denied.

You are supposed to use diagnosis by the doctor for disability claim. Just you looking at the client and deciding is not your job. Your job is to read all the medical documentation given to you. You can’t base their claim on your “lack of knowledge “ because you’re supposed to use the medical documentation provided to you.
as a healthcare worker (MRI Tech) I can say that the answers given for a question is almost ALWAYS not the answer to the question asked. I will ask "Are you having pain in your back (arm, leg, whatever body part) and the answer will almost ALWAYS be "My doctor says I have ..(insert disease or condition here). OR they will indicate a condition that has no correlation to the exam I am doing. As someone that was just diagnosed with Arthritis, I gave this answer to the ortho doc... "I have pain in my wrists and elbows most of the time, but it's worse with writing, or lifting or extended repetitive movements.. and sometimes wakes me up at night with aches or sharp pains". I frequently get patients that never EVER really tell me what kind of actual pain or condition they are in.. they will repeat over and over the medical diagnosis that they were told (or googled). Another thing, I see the results of exams and sometimes I am baffled. Someone comes in says their back aches a little and the spine looks like a pretzel. Others come in screaming in agony and there is nothing wrong with them. I just don't get it. As my coworker used to say... You don't have to prove to me that you are in pain for your disability claim, the images will tell that part of the story. People are not usually listening these days. Too much digital stimulation and distraction.
Thank you so much for these videos ❤🙌 I have sciatica on both sides now rare I know, I’ve had several MRIs and made appointment with back surgeons once seen a team of surgeons came into the room letting me down as easy as possible I just wanted to be fixed not want medication drugs just wanted to be fixed !! The doctors let me know I have several issues in a couple of areas and no operation could fix all of what is going on so I’m not a candidate for an operation 😢I cried and cried !! My MRI results I have deteriorated disc disease bulging disc herniated disc some disk in my lower back have deteriorated away leaving bone on bone and pinching a nerve in that position, bone spurs at the nerve roots sciatica on both sides !! The sciatica effects everything in my life I’m in constant pain especially when trying to sleep sit stand or walk !!! I have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my back , I have to bend my arm backwards using my fist I push it in my lower back I can feel the bulging disc being pushed back into place relieving it however it had made my arms stay sore from bending backwards sleeping on my fist , I had it on one side my right side for 20 years I lived in pain walked 5 miles a day did everything to alleviate my pain then just about 5 years ago the sciatica moved to the other side as well 😢 I don’t understand how but it’s on both sides now !!! The pain radiates down the back both my legs even into my ankles !!! As a matter of fact when all this started for me 30 or more years ago I thought something was wrong with my ankle it felt like it needed to be twisted or popped it constantly ached once had my first MRI it showed it was in my lower back !! I’m unable to sleep it will drive you crazy I cry a lot I’m 58 loved my career and would much rather work I’m truly unable because my back issues !! I’m getting ready to file for disability I’m trying to get advice on what’s expected what’s not accepted and so on !! Thank you so much your wonderful taking your personal time helping others like this praying God blesses you abundantly God speed ❤️🙏🙌
The whole system stinks. They make you go through hoops. They treat people without respect. They had my daughter waiting for the doctor for almost 3 hours. She was in so much pain she finally left without seeing the quack. Unexceptionable. Keep their SS. I will take care of my daughter.
I was denied my benefits after telling everyone I have sever depression and anxiety and ADHD and scoliosis. I told them i collapsed a few times walking 10 feet to get the mail and my neighbors carried me to my house. I have a cane that i use now but still i collapsed again at the park because my back pain shot down my left leg and was unbearable and told them all about it and still denied me and said my case is not that sever enough to get anything at all. They never had me see a doctor or anything!! now i am homeless and cannot eat because i have no money for anything.. SSI pretty much killed me. What a damn joke!!
I think it is amazing that these people with "severe anxiety" have a spouse or daughter, etc, to do their grocery shopping. Severe anxiety sufferers like me never got married nor have relationships or children and literally have no one they allow in their life. They don't visit anyone ever or even make friends. They are 100% isolated and have suicidal ideations. They would starve to death if they didn't buy their own groceries. It seems very wrong and unfair to me that the truly and pathologically anxious people have no one to help them.
@DisabilityExams I am tired of suffering. I'm sorry for sounding like I was enraged. I appreciate your videos and your content and wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
@@MD77SA. Wow. That does sound very very life debilitating. May I ask whether you originally did get approved for disability? Are there any resources in your area that help deliver groceries free or at low-cost? I know a lot of that left after the pandemic ended and a lot of places increased their fees for grocery delivery, unfortunately.
@bestiefswlady5251 I have not applied yet, but I know that I am going to have to. I have physical and psychological disabilities for which I need to apply. I appreciate your kindness, and I will check all the grocery delivery options. The regular ones are pretty expensive. Thank you.
I wish you good luck. See if you can locate a good diagnostic doctor. I think they called it 30 years ago. I thought I was falling apart. He liked that area. I had a number of things going wrong at the same time. Hashimoto Thyroid, huge cysts on ovaries and uterus, that had to be removed. Anyway when he was done. I felt better, more human. A Thyroid not working properly can make you feel so ill. Don't give up!
Sciatica can be relieved with stretches. I get terrible sciatica and can barely walk with it. But with stretching and ice/ heat, it clears up in a few days.
I was diagnosed with PTSD avoidance exhausted my disability account and was going to collect for permanent. I had to go see their doctors I have a history since 27 sciatica and I was around 55 add arthritis in the lower back. The SSI doctors kept focusing in on my back and I kept telling him no I've worked with that I know what to do it's not my back I had to tell them I don't know how many times I can't focus I just can't do the work mentally. I had three appointments with the psychiatrist they gave me a series of tests. Anyways I never got denied once they pulled me out permanently.
Your videos have been really informative and eye opening. I am currently in the middle of a reconsideration. It has been over a year since my "exam" and first denial following the exam. The examining doctor did not ask me anything about me or anything. I saw him for less than 10 minutes and he only asked me one question. "Does your back hurt?" Just like that. I didn't know the context in which he was asking. He also stated that I needed no assistive devices to walk. Considering I am a below the knee amputee and the fact that I was in a wheelchair with my prosthetic on and I had a walker to use when not in my wheelchair. I just don't know. It was very disheartening when I heard, through my advocate, what his final statements where. Again he only asked me one question and saw me for maybe 10 minutes. Anyway, here is to hoping you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year sir.
I'm so sorry to hear that what a disheartening person. I hope you'll get approve best of luck STAY SAFE BLESS and HEALTHY & MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY 🙏🎄☃️🤶🎅🎁
You had an inadequate exam. I've done a video about this, because I've heard from other people about very short exams. If it happens again, I recommend contacting Social Security and asking for a different doctor. On average, I talk with the patient about 15 minutes then spend about 15 minutes doing the exam.
I was told by numerous SS Advocates that in some cases no person sees the same Doctor again, different Dr every time and that asking for another Doctor is called “Fishing” and often Denied because the system is overwhelmed & “Beggar’s Can’t Be Choosey”. I was told that you get RED FLAGGED by dare asking for a different doctor, Consequences, you get thrown to the back of the line or sent to a worse doctor.
I am also on disability for my mental Ness bipolar depression have problem with my back and my knees . I have arthritis my vision is blurred.im already having these crazy elements. They're all coming out of the wood work for me. That's why I don't want to lose my disability it took me 3 long years to get it..I don't know if I'd like to go through that again. So I'm glad I actually happened to be looking at different stuff when I came across this. I want to read more and not let anything get in my way. Like not doing something right.or what I can do do to take care of it for me. I have no one else to help me Thank you my name is Rose. I find this information great.
Glad you find it helpful. Generally Social Security doesn't stop disability unless the condition gets better. Back and knee problems almost always get worse with time, not better, so I doubt you have much to worry about.
I pretty much have same conditions I got disability at age 50 very easily. Hire attorney that only does disability and only gets percentage of your back pay if wins.
Hi. I have mri reports showing cervical disc degeneration and stenosis, spurs and more. Can't stand up straight in one place for 2 minutes. Do you think I would need to go through physical therapy before I present my case? Will mris be enough? Thanks.
I did some therapy. Did nothing You probably should try but ask a lawyer specializing that only gets a percent of your back pay if they win. They know exactly what to do to win. If they don’t win no pay. They only take cases they have won with in the past pretty much.
Sounds easy compared to the UK. If you can lift an empty cardboard box, you are fit for work. Now they are bringing if you can press a key on a keyboard you are fit to work from home.
When I was approved for SSI I was told to get an attorney that specializes in disability so i did, and went to court 1 time and I stood in front of a judge and started physically crying, that was embarrasing because I was a 45 yr old grown woman ..I actually started having heart attacks about 2 weeks before i went to court..because I had no where to go to live also (that same day I was in court) I was approved then, and there...I do have very high anxiety and struggle with high blood pressure.200/100 every day with medication....I am now 66 and still on SSI.. got a back pay of $2,500..back then ,I now have bad back pain included..I have had 9 stents and Open Heart surgery..and 4 heart attacks... I move slow...very slow but i still can move...it took about 6 months to get my first pay....
Merry Christmas......Thanks for sharing some of your real-world experience and insights into the disability exam process and how to best answer the questions in a limited time frame to paint a clearer picture of how we are limited in our daily life and in the workplace setting by our mental or physical problems.
I am in the first stage and the medical examiner has been assigned, next they will pull my records and I will be filling out the 15-year work history again on new forms and with form SA-3373 which i have had great instructional lessons on how to fill out properly.....will not just staple a pic and results of my latest MRI...LOL! @@DisabilityExams
I went to see an IME Doctor & within a 7 min total eval- repeatedly told me how beautiful & charming I was to the point I felt uncomfortable, and in front of my Fiancé & then asked what our Nationalities were and shrugged in disgust that my fiancé was mostly Irish & said I could do better! Would that qualify as being unprofessional, moral or ethical violations? Also, I’m 5’4.5” tall & his report stated I was 4’5” tall. Do such obvious mistakes in the IMEs Report work for against me?
Social security disability uses your words against you. It shouldn’t be that way. It should be based off medical documentation as some people are not as articulated in speaking. Better yet just get a ssdi attorney and the judge can’t ask you those questions and will have to base it off medical documentation like they are supposed to.
Ty Dave. This was helpful. My spouse has a physical CE this weekend. The case is nearing an end I think. It's been n 15 months on initial application. Heart failure is involved, COPD, on oxygen 24/7. It's an ordeal getting my spouse out of the bed as they are bedridden. Praying this goes well. Thank you for the knowledge sir.
Best of luck. Heart failure and COPD are areas where Social Security DOES rely a lot on test results. If your husband has had these tests, you want to make sure Social Security has the results: electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, cardiac catheterization, cardiac stress test, pulmonary function tests, and arterial blood gases. Also the records from any emergency department visits and/or hospitalizations.
@@DisabilityExams absolutely. he has had all the tests you listed. Going to call DDS Monday to do just that, see if they have those results. Every time we have a test or appointment, I call DDS to let them know so they can get the records. Had the Physical CE exam this morning, I think it went well.

I have a question, I have not seen it covered. My 34 year old daughter is having a terrible time with dizziness. It started over 2 years ago when she was pregnant. Aaron is 19 months old now. She finally had to quit working about 6 months ago. She was so miserable with it. We thought it would go away after the baby was born. One ENT said Meniere's disease since her dad and brother have it. The second ENT said that wasn't it. She has been in physical therapy and chiropractor, and the therapy time is out. Her doctor sent her for an MRI. The Nuerologist appointment is not until May 2024. I thought it maybe from Covid that she had while pregnant. She has applied for but has not received Disability. Any suggestion to help her feel better and money to live on. I think she is having anxiety now. At least we know it is not a tumor. Any help, advice, or guidance would be so helpful. Thank you.
Not a doctor but here goes... If it happens when she stands up that is called POTS, it's an autonomic nervous system problem. Could also be a mast cell problem, she's need a very serious expert to diagnose that. Everyone else will just say she's nuts. Covid can indeed trigger autonomic problems. So can pregnancy. They are not in the social security listing. Way harder to get disability that way. Does she have a watch that can take her pulse? She could try taking a OTC H1 blocker (allergy pills) and an H2 blocker (indigestion pills), and see if that helps. ❤
I've had 3 moderns vaccines and 4 months after the booster I woke up one morning and walked to my kitchen and felt like my house stood on one end. Now I'm dealing with bad double vision spells, and I get several dizzy spells everyday since it started in 2022. I've had MRI done on my brain, and I'm seeing neurologist and MS dr and no one has me figured out. All 3 vaccines made me sick running fever. Now I have trouble driving to work. I cant do my job as well as I should for being dizzy most all day. I havent filed for disability but MS dr told me that he'd help me in every way because I cant function in society like a normal person anymore. I just wanna say to everyone. DO NOT GET THE VACCINES IF YOU HAVENT ALREADY. Because my life has been flipped from being an outdoors person to not wanting to get out of the house.
@jean-paultousignant6534 She has now been tested for POTS Cardiologist said no. First Nuerologist thinks Morfins, sending her to Pittsburgh to a Nuerologist that specializes in it. She is becoming weaker as time goes on. She had the Covid shots, she worked in a nursing home.
Hello Dr, I've had 2 neck surgeries, the 1st was called a botched surgery in 2010 , I have a plate in the front of my neck from it, my 2nd surgery was in Sept 23 and I've been out of work for 6 months and I'm still in pain I have numbness in both arms and hands, my neck still hurts, I have burning, numbness and tingling, I can't stand , look down or look up for more than 20 mins, I can't get in the floor and play with my grandchildren, my arms and neck burn , hurt and cause headaches if I'm sitting at a table eating. I can't squeeze anything in my arms without being in pain . It hurts my neck and back to carry a gallon of milk in both arms. I've had CT scans and I'm scheduled for a MRI next week, should I hire a lawyer and pursue disability I've been out of work for 6 months Thank you for listening
That's what they said I have or had .. But mines from sexual assault they pushed my head into the trailer wall. And raped my ass when I was 4 years old
So I have the R pretty large list of things. And there's main things that are causing most of the problem. I can be very descriptive. But I'm always afraid to do that because when I do that to a doctor they basically are like whoa. Whoa slow down one thing at a time. And because of that, I've never really gotten the best medical help. Simply because they don't actually want to listen to all the situations going on. I'm pretty sure they just think I'm a hypochondriac or something. So what I was thinking about doing was pretty much writing this up in a professional essay. Because it's a lot and it's very easy for me to forget certain aspects that might be very important because there's so much of it. Like I won't forget the main things but there's a lot. So my questioning to you is it a good idea for me to go ahead and just write up an essay in presentation so that I can show them? I could even do an anatomy chart for them as I did that before for my pain management when I was much younger. Because I was having trouble getting help because I was so young and they couldn't believe I was in as much pain as I was. So I ended up basically writing it all out and mapping it all out for them. And truth be told it still took years for any of us to get figured out. And even what got figured out was in proper diagnosis that I've only recently figured out 15 years later. But yeah, do you think it would be a good idea for me to just go ahead and write it out and be very descriptive of how it's affecting me and why and when? And I'll also add in the fact that I go to the gym every day because I take my health care seriously and I'm trying to heal. And I'm hope that's not going to work against me because I've been going to the gym since 11 years old and I know how to work out without injuring myself. I've had to rearrange my entire workout and go on a lot of machines to take weight off of my spine. But I don't have a problem working out. In fact, when I stop working out as I did last month due to a financial crisis. Because of this situation, everything got much much worse than only a matter of week. So before this I was well drilling and I am a pretty strong person. And even in physical therapy it was like they were trying to injure me because I can lift a lot more than most people are able to do. But what came to a point where I had to tell him? No, I'm not doing that. You're going to injur me. Like just because I'm capable of doing it through the injury doesn't mean I should right?. So is writing all this out and kind of a professional essay a good idea? I'm just afraid it's going to come off. Is this if I'm trying to scan the system or something like that?. And the reason for that is because that's almost how every doctor treats you through this situation through the experience I've had. Oh and thank you so much for your help on this channel. It's been invalid before me. And everything you say makes absolutely no sense. If it's weird, put some confidence in me that I'm not going to get overlooked into that will get out that just being honest about the situation.
Hubby was diagnosed 7 years ago with conjestive heart failure and Type 2 diabetes. In the last 12 months he has been diagnosed with less than 16% heart use and has not worked for over a year now. We hired a lawyer almost a year ago to help us with his social security claim and it has been stuck with the decision committee since this last January. He has another phone/video conference coming up this June. Should we expect a denile or approval on this first time decision? Oh, and he just had a defibrillator put in his chest this last week.
My spouse dealing with heart failure, diabetes as well. Been 15 months. He'll be dead in another year if they deny the claim . No way we can wait more. He has a CE this weekend. Hopefully a miracle happens.

I’m both surprised by and appreciate your quick response! I have another a Question. Under Which Diagnostic Criteria are SS Examiners supposed to adhere to? Like the ICD-10 or DSM ?
Hi there, l live in Australia, do you have a recommendation of a good website that l could watch here in Australia. I'm not on a disability pension, I've been on a job seeker payment for nearly 6 years as I'm unable to work due to adult eperlipse, im on medication but still have at least 2 sezuresper month. I also have scoliosis which to me is worse than the sezures as my pain is quite severe 24/7, it stops me from sleeping, being on my feet any more than 10 mins, l definitely cannot lift anything any more, even showering is difficult. I've had problems with my spine for just over 30 years but it has worsened in the last 7 years, I'm on a slow release pain medication but it never takes the pain away and l understand that my body has become used to it as ive been on the same dosage for 2 years now. I really would like to gain more knowledge about the best way to apply for tge disability pension, thanking you, Tracey from Australia xo
Hi Tracy I live here in the U.S. I, too, have scoliosis. It was discovered when I was very young. I had back surgery back then. A titanium rod was placed to help with the curvature. May I ask, did you not see an orthopedic doctor?
@@francalatona591 Hi, my pain started around the age of 20, now I'm 53 and I've had so many scans done that I've lost count and 1 doctor l saw back in 2018 was the one that told me that l had scoliosis, that was the first time any dr actually told me. I've seen many specialists and one was a professor who did surgery to fix 3 discs that were permanently buldged for 8 years and once that was done l was very happy to get off lyrica 300 mgs twice a day, that pain was cruel. Now I'm waiting on a public list to see another surgeon in Sydney and they want to use a rod, plates and pins to help with my pain but they have said that it should have been done 20 years ago as you know that our bones aren't plyable or flexible as we get older. Thankyou for your comment and l wish you a good life without pain, cheers Tracey from Australia xo
Hello doc, I really enjoy your videos. As far as psoriatic arthritis goes, if I cannot squat down does that mean I cannot lift anything? I can drop my behind about four inches at best. Been this way for ten months with methotrexate and prednisone.
Squatting is one of the activities Social Security wants the doctor to check at a Consultative Examination. If you can only squat four inches, that would be a severe limitation. However, can you bend over and lift something? If you can, then the inability to squat wouldn't eliminate the ability to lift.
I have graves disease and urcaetivse colitis and might be getting diabetes and have had lots of kidney pains lately i had well care but they took it because i made too much money last year as sick as I was i made 30.000 dollars having trouble getting my medicine need thyroid medicine too stay alive not sure what to do its hard to get disability in Kentucky if you have any idea what I can do let me know
I went to consult with an attorney yesterday. He said that he would not take the case because I only see Nurse Practitioners and Social Security has "real" doctors they listen to. What can I do?
I don't think that attorney was right. I'd consult another attorney. If you apply, and Social Security isn't satisfied with your medical records, usually they will send you to a doctor like me who does Consultative Examinations. For example, I've seen many homeless folks who, because of their situation don't get regular medical care.
@@DisabilityExams Thank you for your response. I have been to the Social Security doctor and have been turned down twice. I am awaiting a date for a hearing, I will look for another attorney though.
From my study the first hurdle to pass SSAD approval is the state organization that checks if you met a listing. The other two hurdles residual capacity to work and grid rules. If one meets the state listing then you get approved and there is no need for and exam with doctor like you. Now if one failed to meet a listing one would think a good and kindly government would send the claimant to you so you as an expert actor for our good and kindly government would share your knowledge with the claimant as to what medical documents the claimant should obtained from one's primary care or mental health provider to add to their claim and succeed. Wouldn't a success based system be more reasonable than the "adversarial" fail system that mysteriously exists?
1. Listings are country-wide, not state. Social Security does have regional offices that evaluate disability applications, but they are not state-based. 2. You're not correct about when patients are sent for a Consultative Examination. I've discussed the reasons why people do get Consultative Examinations in multiple videos. The main reasons are" a) lack of medical records b) out of date medical records c) confusing or conflicting medical records 3. Try to get ALL medical records sent in to Social Security 4. Please elaborate on what you mean by "success based", and "adversarial" systems.
alex: "From my study the first hurdle to pass SSAD approval is the state organization that checks if you met a listing." Jdfoster: "Listings are country-wide, not state. Social Security does have regional offices that evaluate disability applications, but they are not state-based." Re: alex *** Most Social Security disability claims are initially processed through a network of local Social Security Administration (SSA) field offices and State agencies (usually called Disability Determination Services or DDSs).*** ... continuing "The DDSs, which are fully funded by the Federal Government, are State agencies responsible for developing medical evidence and making the initial determination on whether or not a claimant is disabled or blind under the law." www.ssa.gov/disability/determination.htm thank you will be back for your other points. Your videos are an inspiration to me that success based government (progam management = cost schedule performance) as opposed to rich and cunning lobbyists based government can be real.
Does workman comp count as wages earned? I am on workman’s comp and soon my last wages of 18 months ago is disappearing due to me being on workman’s comp.

SS looks at your age also. When we finally had to hire an attorney after 3 denials. He said they look at the illness and age to if can recoup from your illness and regain employment. The younger you are, the SS thinks your body will get in better shape to work. SS just looks for reason to say "No".

No you can not. SSDI automatically turns into a retirement benefit at your full retirement age which is the amount you receive from SSDI anyway. It’s literally the same amount. The only Benefit would be that you could’ve been eligible for Medicare after 2 years and a payable family max to children dependents or spouse over 62 if they’re primary insurance amount is less than half of yours. So basically just children n Medicare. Most people aren’t having kids in their 60s unless u adopt.
I am not sure if this is for the US, but I live in Canada. I have a few conditions so what I did was to get written statements from each specialist. If I remember correctly I was being seen by 5 specialist. I was immediately approved but I feel that was because of my due diligence in providing as much information as I possibly could. At the same time, someone I knew had a son who was attempting to get disability and he was repeatedly denied. I didn't understand why he was applying because he claimed to have the same issues as I did, but he could do everything I could not. Then I found out he falsified some paperwork, so yeah, that totally ticked me off and I reported him. I did not want to be disabled and then judged by people because they thought I was just too lazy to work. I can promise everyone that being bedridden due to the severity of my issues was terrible.
What if I have 7 mental and one vestibular disability and it prevents me from working? I can’t handle a job and I’ve fought for 4 years before and am now fighting again

Im a shut-in I cant leave my house i cant drive because I freak out and i have a few more mental problems and at my hearing the judge nor my lawyers talked about my mental problems only my physical problems if I get denied im gonna have to appeal that because like I said my mental problems were not brought up by the judge nor my lawyer. Im gonna be doomed if i dont get it because I have so many physical and mental problems I need the medical help hell I dont even care about the money I need medical help and I dont qualify for Medicare or whatever that is because well basically because I never had any kids. I did tell them one medical prob that does affect me bad I have flat feet and that pain is no joke idk im 51 and I started working at the age of 15 and I have always had jobs up to the age of 45 if I dont get approved im scared i won't be around while waiting for the appeal i have a very bad bad ulcer in my stomach and i cant get any medical help with that because I have to see a gastrologist dr i was in the hospital for 7 days and i cant believe they kept me for that long because I have no insurance but thats how bad this ulcer is. My life sucks...and no i do not drink i haven't had a drink in 15 years i did smoke but I quit smoking i went 7 days with no nicotine they kept trying to give me a patch but I told him I didn't want it so I never did put one on. Idk now im freaking out i hope i get it oh yeah I also do have undiagnosed epilepsy my first seizure was Dec 24 2015 one minute I was wrapping a Christmas present and then im coming to in the back of an ambulance my dad was there I loked at him and he looked like he seen a ghost i will never forget the look on his face.
Positive ANA and HLA-B27 suggest a person has an autoimmune disease, but there must be symptoms and evidence of inflammation to prove the existence of an autoimmune disease. For example, many people with a positive ANA test do NOT have an autoimmune disease - it's a "false positive".
If you mean your ejection fraction is 25%, there is a good chance you qualify as disabled, as that is a severe reduction in heart pumping capability: see Listing 4:02 www.ssa.gov/disability/professionals/bluebook/4.00-Cardiovascular-Adult.htm#4_02
As long as they are not the big toes, I'd say no chance of being approved. As long as you can stand and walk normally, you will not be approved for Social Security Disability. The big toe is important for walking, the other four toes not that important.
List everything that’s wrong with you on your CDR forms. I’ve had people list bipolar etc and then when it comes to height and weight they’re 5 foot 1 and weigh 300 pounds. Put down obesity! If you have diabetes put it at the TOP of the list.
My lawyers tell me this is a bunch of crap. Because SS only uses diagnosis by testing, possibly several test many times and other doctors second opinions. Not the way it affects me. Is moot i am told.
Doc you are the biggest Enabler on youtube. Do you have a child with a bad habit? If you do, its half your fault for sending them everything they ask for. You would be a terrible parent
Hi my name is Ray I watched your video I listen to it the other words my question is to you you didn't talk about a disability call glaucoma you didn't talk about that disability do you give examinations on glaucoma and lower back pain I've worked for over 40 years and I've done nothing but labor physical labor work and you talking about sore back pain every time I go outside and do something else next day my back is out it stiffens up every time I get up but I was born with glaucoma can you tell me about that disability

You are supposed to use diagnosis by the doctor for disability claim. Just you looking at the client and deciding is not your job. Your job is to read all the medical documentation given to you. You can’t base their claim on your “lack of knowledge “ because you’re supposed to use the medical documentation provided to you.

ASK those questions.
The system aims to find reasons to deny rather than approve.
as a healthcare worker (MRI Tech) I can say that the answers given for a question is almost ALWAYS not the answer to the question asked.
Thank you. This video is helpful showing how disabilities affect our everyday lives and our work.

Hi I have my exam tomorrow.
I have multiple Sclerosis as well as Carpel tunnel ! Any advice?
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. 💗. The way I feel fluctuates greatly throughout the day from hour to hour and day to day.
Great example of rage!
Depends on the cause. Could be a fracture or herniation or compression

Thank you so much for your expert advice ,very much appreciated..💯🤝
Merry Christmas and thank you for all this insightful information
You are a wonderful person
How are the chances with Peripheral Neuropathy and Spinal Stenosis?
@@mikestuhr2797 Thank you.
Disability Exam, this has never been brought to my attention. I am making a phone call this morning.
They use a book that tells the percentage of people who can work with what you have. Doctors documentation is very important!
Sounds easy compared to the UK. If you can lift an empty cardboard box, you are fit for work. Now they are bringing if you can press a key on a keyboard you are fit to work from home.
They would have to compare that to the amount you were previously making too right?
In theory, you should be on regular SS now since you turned 65. Have you had any disruption in payments?
I hope you are doing well.
Great info, thank you!

What if the Examiner Doesn’t ask these 2 questions at all or in anyway that I can provide vital information to him?
Social security disability uses your words against you. It shouldn’t be that way. It should be based off medical documentation as some people are not as articulated in speaking. Better yet just get a ssdi attorney and the judge can’t ask you those questions and will have to base it off medical documentation like they are supposed to.
On the other hand if you haven’t seen a doctor for years it’s hard to have any medical evidence to go by
That's true

Hi Dr,i live i South Africa, m assessment wth the Sassa Dr is tomorrow, i ws diagnosed wth arthritis, i experience low back pains that goes all the way down till b my knees, ive gt difficulty walking, standing fr t long
I have a question, I have not seen it covered.
Maybe we waited too long to apply. She is so young, with 2 children. I never thought anything like this could happen. 😔

That's what they said I have or had .. But mines from sexual assault they pushed my head into the trailer wall. And raped my ass when I was 4 years old
Happy Holidays🌲 and thank you for all the information provided through your videos 💯👏🙋♀️

Merry Christmas Doc.
Happy holidays!
@@DisabilityExams Thank you.
I have graves disease and urcaetivse colitis and might be getting diabetes and have had lots of kidney pains lately i had well care but they took it because i made too much money last year as sick as I was i made 30.000 dollars having trouble getting my medicine need thyroid medicine too stay alive not sure what to do its hard to get disability in Kentucky if you have any idea what I can do let me know
You are supposed to be totally unable to work for at least a year or until death occurs so if you earn 30,000 you are going to get a work review
The main reasons are" a) lack of medical records b) out of date medical records c) confusing or conflicting medical records
3. Try to get ALL medical records sent in to Social Security
Yes
@@AtticusMaxiMillian43 wrong, came back from tax person and said it doesn't count. Nontaxable income, no work income. Now unemployment surprisingly gets taxed.
How do you get off social security disability?
Merry Christmas🎄🎄🎄
SS looks at your age also. When we finally had to hire an attorney after 3 denials. He said they look at the illness and age to if can recoup from your illness and regain employment. The younger you are, the SS thinks your body will get in better shape to work. SS just looks for reason to say "No".
i have stage 4 throat cancer and toungue cancer plus other problems but i would think ita no brainer on the cancer ! ssi fighting me on it since sept 26th 2023! wtf!
That’s terrible. You should have been approved right away.
can i go back and do a disability claim ?i took regular social security because was faster ,i have disability of a left leg amp from a bone infection and recent fall breaking left hip ,i am now 72 and hear can't go back and claim disability i did have a heart attack with quad by pass in 2006 but was able too return working after rehab and recovery ,i had other things going on like auti infection, diabetic ,heart patient with stage 3 kidney disease i'm one my own making choices/decisions main thing what too find out can do disability ,the payout for me wouldn't be much more than my regular ss but would help i'm in pa
I'm in PA, my sister is on disability and the paperwork says that will lower to regular retirement payments as soon as she gets that old.
No it becomes regular social security after 66
I am not sure if this is for the US, but I live in Canada.
I sincerely doubt anyone has 7 separate mental disorders, so first thing I would do is find a competent psychiatrist and get diagnosed.
@ I have BPD, GAD, ADHD, ASD, insomnia, Bipolar 1, major depressive disorder and now BPPV, how is that not a mental disorder?
Somebody at work came from behind me puting me in a headlock seriously injuring my neck and it hurts for 13 years ...L and I didnt help I didnt have a lawyer
Musculoskeletal pain alone will not qualify for Social Security Disability, no matter how severe. They say so on their website: Section D 1. www.ssa.gov/disability/professionals/bluebook/1.00-Musculoskeletal-Adult.htm
Blessings sent, my.first amendment because of my Religion they will not let me come off SSDI, I have not been with the problem and 3to 5 years I don't get help from any companies or family it was 20 years ago back in college ready to on my way to work
Im a shut-in I cant leave my house i cant drive because I freak out and i have a few more mental problems and at my hearing the judge nor my lawyers talked about my mental problems only my physical problems if I get denied im gonna have to appeal that because like I said my mental problems were not brought up by the judge nor my lawyer.
What about +ANA and HLB27
Positive ANA and HLA-B27 suggest a person has an autoimmune disease, but there must be symptoms and evidence of inflammation to prove the existence of an autoimmune disease. For example, many people with a positive ANA test do NOT have an autoimmune disease - it's a "false positive".
had heart atck
my condice has change still 20 to 25%
If you mean your ejection fraction is 25%, there is a good chance you qualify as disabled, as that is a severe reduction in heart pumping capability: see Listing 4:02 www.ssa.gov/disability/professionals/bluebook/4.00-Cardiovascular-Adult.htm#4_02
What if you have 2toes amputated
As long as they are not the big toes, I'd say no chance of being approved. As long as you can stand and walk normally, you will not be approved for Social Security Disability. The big toe is important for walking, the other four toes not that important.
Nice of you to help wildlife.
List everything that’s wrong with you on your CDR forms. I’ve had people list bipolar etc and then when it comes to height and weight they’re 5 foot 1 and weigh 300 pounds. Put down obesity! If you have diabetes put it at the TOP of the list.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND GOOD LUCK..GET THEM ON A GOOD DAY😂
🎄🎅🤶🧑🎄
My lawyers tell me this is a bunch of crap. Because SS only uses diagnosis by testing, possibly several test many times and other doctors second opinions. Not the way it affects me. Is moot i am told.
it must be wonderful to have such a well-informed lawyer.
Some people are lying to get it
Report them. I’m so sick of hearing how people abuse the system when people like me really need it.
You have to prove why you can’t work to qualify for disability, but you don’t have to prove why you can’t work to collect welfare.
Doc you are the biggest Enabler on youtube. Do you have a child with a bad habit? If you do, its half your fault for sending them everything they ask for. You would be a terrible parent
What state do you practice in?
Hi my name is Ray I watched your video I listen to it the other words my question is to you you didn't talk about a disability call glaucoma you didn't talk about that disability do you give examinations on glaucoma and lower back pain I've worked for over 40 years and I've done nothing but labor physical labor work and you talking about sore back pain every time I go outside and do something else next day my back is out it stiffens up every time I get up but I was born with glaucoma can you tell me about that disability
