    I like this doctor. He's straight to the point and seems to be genuinely concerned about your claim

      Agreed! Sometimes he gets disgruntled comments because people mistake him as being the decision-maker of SSA’s policies and nuances. He does get straight to the point, and just relays the facts so that we can be informed and possibly make adjustments to our case presentation, if possible…

    The hardest part about all of this topic or whatever is admitting that you need help financially. Pride or not wanting to take anything away from all the ones that are in worse shape than you. But you're still in a health position that genuinely keeps you from doing what you feel you must do for others as well as yourself.

    Good point about storytelling; I watch a lot of attorney Walter Hnot’s TH-cam uploads, including the nights each week that he allows free 5 to 7 minute phone calls in from the public to ask a general legal question about Social Security disability claims. The stories are interesting, but it’s more important for people to describe, or learn to describe the IMPACT of their disabilities upon their work, and how it impairs, or limits, or reduces the efficacy of their work related tasks.

    This is so very helpful! It’s definitely best to keep it simple, short & straightforward in describing how your limitations affect your ability to work.

    My exam was a joke. I saw the doctor for a whole 3 minutes. Lift your arms, lift your legs, walk across the room. Exam over.

    Hi I am disabled by ehlers danlos syndrome, a genetic connective tissue disorder. I have pain in all the joints and also ear pain. The ear pain is called hyperacusis and causes pain from sound. The hyperacusis makes all noise seem very amplified to me and I get migraine type pain in my ears. I also get a lot of tinnitus.

    I went to my appointment today with records and paperwork in case i had to show something and my doctor said hes not allowed to look at any paperwork and i couldn't show him anything to prove i had a cane or walker or any other proof .florida .also my doctor today was a retired anesthesiologist so i already knew he knew about what i was saying. I let him talk and i answered in specific ways briefly

      I also tell patients the exam involves talking and examining, not going through paperwork.

    Can you apply for disability under both physical and mental conditions?

  • @forumkitty
    @forumkitty 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    With the medical terms, how do you do that when you have a disability (alexithyma in my case) that makes it difficult to put things in your own words? I live my life dealing with all of my health problems so i use the terms to save time and convey the idea better because i cant describe my own feelings well. Should i just write up what i need to say ahead of time or is that going to make me look bad? Especially when my disability claim is social anxiety?
    Also the sixth one you said, about evidence of exaggerating... How do you know you arent dealing with someone with chronic pain who just doesnt emote it very well? I dont remotely start showing pain until i hit an 8. If i complained about being in pain, id never shut up. Im always afraid the doctors think im ok just because im not complaining. Ive been accused of being a drug seeker when i complained in the past so i just dont. Its another of the social anxiety problems that screw me in the process.

      1. make notes or bullet points, but don't read off a script.
      2. there are many ways to detect pretending and exaggerating, and I've made multiple videos on the topic. Such people don't attempt to conceal their distress, they attempt to overplay it. Watch some more of my videos.

    You're really stern about bringing medical records to the exam and this is HAS to be just your personal not the norm. Because every social media group expert says otherwise

    I believe you mean well, but not everyone that exaggerates is being deceptive; their pain could be exaggerated at that moment. Assumptions aren't medicine. Also people can learn words didnt you study for a doctrine. Anyways my humble opinion take it or leave it, God bless.
