It makes sense to start with the figurines, too easy to knock over and break. I also use paper towels, ziplock bags, but not the plastic wrap. I use shopping plastic bags for fillers but the plastic wrap makes more sense to save space instead of the bucky shopping bags. Thanks for the tip. I love the holiday season so much, that it makes me really bummed out when I have to take everything down. Maybe we all feel that way. This was also an excellent video of how you dismantle your village. I hope you do another village later this year. Thank you for a GREAT series.

Can't believe you just ditched all that Styrofoam~~ I have my village on an enclosed porch and kept my platforms and then decided to do the other holidays. So that way I don't have to start over from scratch when it is time for Christmas again. I have Halloween and Thanksgiving villages, also an Easter village. I then got bored and painted some Christmas bldgs. I found at the craft store Valentine colors and made a small Valentine village. I just got done making a summertime village with some Christmas bldgs. and summertime things. And flags, lots and lots of flags! The Easter village is bunnies in place of the people and the Thanksgiving has turkeys and scarecrows and a bldg. in the shape of a turkey with other fall time bldgs. Yes its a lot to store but hey we only go around in this life once so I figured what they heck anyway!!! My family puts up with me because I retired a year ago and it keeps me busy!!!! Happy New Year and will look for your village in 2023!
Wow you are an industrious person!! So impressive. If I still lived in a house, I might be more like you, but I live in a small one bedroom apartment with a basement storage cubicle. Unfortunately after 8 -10 weeks I need my space back, thus the tear down. Good for you!

Was nice to see how someone else does it! Great job. I will probably start packing my figurines like you do. I came up with my own style of mountains as I couldn't find anything on TH-cam I liked but yours are very similar to mine. I think i will continue to box my buildings in the original Lemax boxes though.
You are lucky if you can box your buildings in the original boxes. That's probably the best way to store them. My problem is space, rather the lack of it. So the boxes actually take up too much room. But you're away is better absolutely.
The way I do mine takes up less room for me. I built shelves up high in my garage and practiced where to put each one so it utilities all the space and I mark the bottom of each one with a number and I used a spreadsheet that shows where each one goes. I printed it out. I do cheat a bit, I don’t put the cables in the boxes. Each one of those is marked with the same number I give the building boxes. I mark each cable on both ends for easy of seeing the numbers. I put all those in one tote. Since the figurines containers are weird shaped, it’s been a challenge getting them to all fit in a.boxes or totes nicely and I am nervous of breaking the figurines when placing them in their store bought containers so I’m going to try your method.
