Looking back this must've had one of the biggest opening scene production value, I also watched it every single time I started my PS1, time flies...wow..
People are nuts saying the Japanese soundtrack version of intro is better. This one oozes style and hero off to save the world vibes. Haven't heard this in decades but still sells me on the premise of game as it did when i was a child. Another gem of this era i would recommend is "Gaia Seed". Solid side scrolling shooting game with excellent soundtrack.
Agreeing with that soundtrack especially on into that Opening screen into the menu music from Static-X pushing you to be driven into the action. Thanks for that Gaia Seed suggestion. 👍 Coming off of *ONE* and _Apocalypse_ here and am looking for more classic PS1 along our current vectors of interest.
being a Mech addict , I much say that it's the coolest intro still to this date .I never get tired of it . Wish they would revamp it . Classic mode and story mode . Think it would be great .
I just saw this for the first time literally today. My jaw dropped from the sheer cool factor, I would've been absolutely obsessed with game back in the day. After seeing gameplay I even want to emulate it today!
I love the way the stars looks when space spins around and everything comes into place. Such a great visual. Reminds me of when I was a kid playing with my toys lol
ive heard debates on which one is the better intro song, but ask any naval aviator who've actually LAUNCHED from a catapult. ask them which song would get them hyped to launch. 10/10 times its gonna be this one. the other songs just do not fit the narrative of a mech pilot preping up to launch back in time to kick some alien ass.
I remember being in my early 20's. I had a PS like most of my peers, but they were all into Street Fighter, and whatever else was popular in the mid/late-90's. I bought this game on a whim, and we were all absolutely floored. It felt good to be "the one" to have discovered something so awesome for once.
I was ten when this came out. It was one of the games my dad bought me to start with. Akuji the Heartless Omega Boost Final Fantasy 7 & 8 I rented many other things later. Blockbuster was fun. Dad would rent a movie and I would rent a game and we would return them. Dominos pizza. Mountain dew. Watched Ace Ventura Starship troopers and played games. What wonderful weekends we had. Those were some of the best days we had. Back when we were forced to sit at each other's houses to have fun, invite people over and enjoy. My sister played too and our cousins would come over and ioin us in the fun. We would share game info, write our own strategy guides and have a blast. I miss that shit
I remember this vaguely ever so often when I hear Puddle of Mudd on the radio. For some reason i always want to say this had blurry as the soundtrack. But this is why better. I dont remember much on the playstation, but I do this. Still get goosebumps when he looks at that little bulb
The bulb is a vacuum tube used in old electronics. I get what you mean too, the lyrics are perfectly synced with when he grabs his rifle to stride to war. A warrior for good and all!
I got to meet him a con. He's just as cool and chill as you think he is. The girl in front of me is geeking out. "you know how cool you are, riiight!?" He just says: "Yeah." And I'm thinking..."THAT'S SPIKE."
Oh man, being a huge Gundam/armored core/mechwarrior fan this intro blew me away back in '99. The gameplay not so much lol, omega boost isnt a bad game but it's not a timeless classic either. This intro though, is timeless.
Is that Spike Spiegel piloting with Jet Black as engineer? Yes it is, guess someone in charge of localization was watching Cowboy Bebop, which given it being '99 and all its not that surprising.
Technically, I believe this game predates Bebop, in production as well as release (the voiceovers for Omega Boost are universal [there is no Japanese voice cast]). Omega Boost first released in Japan on April 22, 1999, while the earliest dub VHS volume for Bebop released as early as September 1999 ttbomk). That said, voice recording for both was done by the same companies (Animaze/ZRO Limit Productions, with recording at Magnitude 8) and a number of cast members appear between the two projects: -Steve Blum (aka David Lucas) [Spike] dubs over Greg Funk as Lester -Beau Billingslea [Jet] dubs over Rudy Hamilton Jr. as Engineer -Wendee Lee [Faye] is the female hangar announcer at 1:42 at the very least. It's possible she did more than that, but it's tough to distinguish her from Julie Pickering (aka Julie Ann Taylor) from older-sounding roles, and the accents and clutter only make it harder -Paul St. Peter (aka George C. Cole) [Punch] is the male French-accented control room announcer voice at 0:54 and 1:13 -George Kee (aka George Cheung) (aka G.K.C.), who I understand is the Rinou Tea House Owner in Bebop Episode 2, is also somewhere in this opening [along with Alex Araujo (who does the male Spanish announcer voice)] -Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (aka Melissa Williamson) [Julia] is the computer voice heard in the game's ending sequence.
I remember when I when my pops offered me to pick up a game, the pickings were pretty slim(airforce Base exchange) since most of the games were just random sports games or this. Was really, really surprised how legitimately good this game was.
For some reason the song always reminds me of Exosquad and JT Marsh. That one episode where he basically says he just wanted to fly and wasn't in it for the fighting.

Oh wow! I came here just in time.
no, i dont think i will. #aiscam
It doesn't even look all that different lmao
Looking back this must've had one of the biggest opening scene production value, I also watched it every single time I started my PS1, time flies...wow..
Still watch this from time to time! Nostalgia to the max!
Best intro of psx , sfxs , cuts & rock ost/tecno
This entire game is grossly under appreciated.
This needs to have a remake
Bruh. I'm looking at it right now..... It's just lamenting on my shelf. Untouched since my wee years..... What have I done?
I did beat it though 😃
I need this game again😢
one of the best game intro's ever I used to be able to watch this over and over.
same here. A real hidden gem game from the PS1 days. If only it got more attention could have been a great series.
Yeah. But the Japanese song is way better.
@@lok4890 Each is good, but "fly" by Loudmouth fits just as well. I can't say one is better than the other as both songs are pretty kick ass.
I still watch it, it's timeless
Same. Man I love mecha 😁
This intro still gives me goosebumps.
Same man, something about it really clicks!
Facts when he locks in the gun and blasts the entire fleet shit was so fucking dope! Not to mention the choice in music like wtf! Gets me everytime!
@@JackTheFenris Bro, that made me just want to start playing right there.

I think that's the thing: Neither are inferior to the other, both are amazing.
The sound in the Japanese intro is miles better than this one 😅
a reminder that Polyphony Digital is the Gran Turismo guys. did not expect that when I found out later when I was older
This song is amazing and the intro still gives me goosebumps. So good. I used to watch this over and over again.

✒️✅️🗳
Would get my vote.👍
They could remake this as a launch title for a new console and people would freak the fuck out.
This game should be made into a movie! With the opening soundtrack!
I just saw this for the first time literally today. My jaw dropped from the sheer cool factor, I would've been absolutely obsessed with game back in the day. After seeing gameplay I even want to emulate it today!
20 Year Anniversary of Omega Boost (1999-2019)

Gddnmn right! 🤌👌👍
Loudmouth - Fly was my song to pump up before each high school volleyball game. Memories.
First game I played in ps1.
Mindblowed.

It still does it for me man.
I was ten when this came out. It was one of the games my dad bought me to start with.
Akuji the Heartless
Omega Boost
Final Fantasy 7 & 8
I rented many other things later. Blockbuster was fun. Dad would rent a movie and I would rent a game and we would return them.

When I was a teenager the spoony one took me on a journey through fmv hell. I have now found fmv heaven
Imagine if Polyphony making a remaster for this game...
Recuerdo que mi abuela me compró mi primera consola la ps1 y venía este juegazo wn todo el puto día jugando csmre wn peazo de juego
Fly - Loudmouth Thats the name
Thank you
Thanks You bro
This intro used to get me so cranked lol. Absolute classic
Año 2021 y todavía me gusta, gracias por los recuerdos.
Deserves an HD remaster in ps5 best one of the best games of psx for me
This game deserves a 4K remake for PS5 plus PS VR 2
Remember when i used to wrestle i had this theme and named my finisher the omega blast as an homage to this game
Gundam Omega, taking off!
The American version of the intro by far has the best music.
It's been a super long time since I've had this game but still think this intro is absolutely badass!
Best mech game ever this game was way beyond its time a part was most definitely needed
Every time I hear this, I feel Lester's "... *yesssss*..."
That euphoria.
back when game companies had pride in their creations and cared for the gaming experience and atmosphere...what a PROPER intro!! Classic.
Hard to believe this is the same developer that brought us the Gran Turismo series
Omega Boost was my jam, before Zone of Enders! I'm baised, and prefer the Japanese intro song however!
I'm starting to think this game is what inspired Z.O.E.
I remember this vaguely ever so often when I hear Puddle of Mudd on the radio. For some reason i always want to say this had blurry as the soundtrack. But this is why better. I dont remember much on the playstation, but I do this. Still get goosebumps when he looks at that little bulb

Games like this just aren't made anymore. It's a shame.
que genial este vídeo de playstation. Un juegazo de mi adolescencia.
Steve Blum, hell yeah!
I got to meet him a con. He's just as cool and chill as you think he is. The girl in front of me is geeking out. "you know how cool you are, riiight!?" He just says: "Yeah." And I'm thinking..."THAT'S SPIKE."
Omega boost, it's all good, carry out the mission carefully.
Oh man, being a huge Gundam/armored core/mechwarrior fan this intro blew me away back in '99. The gameplay not so much lol, omega boost isnt a bad game but it's not a timeless classic either. This intro though, is timeless.
Bro this SCREAMS 90s
Is... is that Steve Blum I hear!?
This is still the coolest shit ever made.
The same guys that made the Gran Turismo!
Best game intro in the last 20 years of video games!
lol 20?
"Ready to walk this mad dog"
Nothing today even comes close to this intro, none of it.
Loved this game so much as a kid. I would play all the way through before I had a memory card.
Thank you Pizza Hut demo disc
this game was my gateway to armored core
both insanely awesome games!
These are some damn good graphics for a PS1.
This was a flagship game graphics wise. I remember they had trucks/vans that went around to shopping areas to let people try it out even.
MorteWulfe
That explains the budget used for this intro.
Juntemos firmas para un remake de esta joya
Fantastic game. Truly a forgotten gem.
The production values are wild here. It looks amazing
Mi primer videojuego, gracias por subir tan sublime intro :D
Still have my copy in the case!
eins2001 same, looks brand new still
Same!
I hate all of you. I no longer own my copy. On of my favorite games of all time.
Fuck yes!! Same
@@열셋-x2f Wanna sell it?
So I finally found this game at my local gamestore they gave me a good price and it took 25 years to find it again but I got it so awesome

where did you acquire HD version of this intro?
Uno de los mejores juegos de la playstation , que salga un Remastered !!!
I remember when I when my pops offered me to pick up a game, the pickings were pretty slim(airforce Base exchange) since most of the games were just random sports games or this. Was really, really surprised how legitimately good this game was.
The memories
Send me back to future great Scott !!!
This fmv intro is amazing and the buttrock score is immaculate
Miss playing this game so much. (:
oh my, how far we've come!
For some reason the song always reminds me of Exosquad and JT Marsh. That one episode where he basically says he just wanted to fly and wasn't in it for the fighting.
Preferred the European intro with music by Cast, definitely better
I LOVE OMEGA BOOST!!!
Merece um remake urgente
Dios te escuché
Toda la creacion te escuche
One of the Greatest games for the PlayStation console.
And then Space Mech Pilot Kyle Reese must have a child with the woman who's son would become Bob Feddersen.
Steve Blum!? lol
That thumbs-up tho👍🏾🦾
I remember playing this game was a lot of fun and ost is fire 🔥
-00:52, best parts after this point
This Game was for PS1, yet those graphics looked like PS2, I really loved this game
Song is still better then the crap they put out today
Shadow Who's they ? Games or Music ? Because the latter is true. Otherwise I would give you some examples that it being heard in the airwaves.
Nah, it's shit. The japanese version has a much better song.
@@Daumex thats the one that's shit and boring.
U.S opening track pisses on the U.K opener. We got some indie band
I see stuff like this and wonder why there were never movies or short films to accompany it
Is so evagelion like... Was one of the best game of ps one the music was awesome
Bro they need to bring this kinda stuff back seriously, we have URE5 now like come on, perfect time to bring some games back to life!!!🤩
America's Gundam Wing
Nunca lo pude terminar nada mas llegaba hasta el nivel de la araña y eso batallando
I became a man that day
Polyphony needs to make another one :
si sacaran una versión actual de este juego y otro con experiencia VR sería el juego del año
wish you had a remastered hd version of the Japanese version
Is that steve blum as the pilot or is just a voice over
wow... the best os the best psx game intro... nice job
This needs to be remade for a PS6 launch title
The song: Fly, Loudmouth and The road for the the generic part
I love the how the voice of Roger Smith is the pilot's voice of the Omega Boost!
Its been over 15 years, and I'm still mad we can't shoot the big gun in game.
REMAKE PLEASE OF THIS ASAP
They should revive this.
Huge robot with a 1911 pistol as big as a car, what more could you ask for? Lol
Best childhood ever
