This is still, after 20 something years is my favorite video game opening of all time.
This intro slaps. The next best intro I can think of is the one from the original Tekken Tag Tournament

GT 1 had a better opener than GT 2 imo
I legit thought graphics couldn't get better than this. But this is still amazing - the animation is still crazy smooth, and this entire soundtrack still bumps.
For it’s time this game is incredibly gorgeous. I mean it still is, It’s very impressive that this was a PSX game. Not to mention the killer soundtrack the games got going on.

Gotta be honest I was born a year after this game came out and only played it for the first time in 2024. Both this opening and the game itself some of the best things I've experienced in gaming nothing has matched this energy

after playing the series again, i gotta say, this game has the perfect mix of women and cars. forza is just gay and nfs is just sexxed up and goes nowhere. ridge racer actually has women you can simp for.

Definitely house music. Listen to "Ah" by Bellaire (even Bellaire as a whole) you'll get that same vibe.

Whoever remastered this intro did an amazing job, looks phenomenal.
They chose a wonderful video to remaster, but to me, this still looks a little pixelated & a little blurry. Not much, but for something that says it's remastered, it should look better than this. (I watched in 1080 mode.)

I bought it rather recently because I’m 14 and have a love for old games and I’m playing it right now and it never gets old I find myself never being able to skip the intro and I’m happy that I’m experiencing what you slightly older people experienced back in the day

This game is one of the main reasons PS1 was better than n64, the ability for full audio tracks made the games so much better and the game looked a lot better than rr64 even though the system was less powerful.

After years of searching for this game I only had a memory of the intro. I finally started asking an AI to help me zero in on it and within 5 minutes it had found it. Incredible.
Sucks that I don't have a PS1, cus I wanna play this so much!!! Then again there is the PS3 download. 😅
