And TH-cam thought this would be an adequate recommendation after that! LOL! You got me real good TH-cam!!!
Oof. Sorry it got spoiled for you. For future games, I would recommend NOT searching for ANYTHING. No soundtracks, no trailers, no past entries, no developer diaries, NOTHING. I got spoiled for games that way.
You know? If adachi had more patience or if he didn't "follow the rules" and turn himself in, there would be no way that adachi would ever get caught, and thats terrifying.
Just like every infamous killer, his ego got too big, which is what the death threat to Yu revealed. It's almost like a high.. Every single time. His downfall was close to real life as opposed to the silly shit anime writers come up with, and the execution ends up way better without any nonsense. Amazing writing that goes unnoticed
5:36 to 6:14 Adachi is accused of knowing more then the police. Well, couldn't Adachi have been smart enough to think that the suspect merely kidnapped them and they somehow escaped before they could be killed? I mean, logically speaking, couldn't it be Adachi just have figured things out, but was to unsure if he was right? I mean, it IS Adachi's nature to make guesses before he looks at all the logic. I know he's guilty, but don't you think... it still pokes a hole in Naoto's logic bubble?
Those victims weren't released to the press, sure.. and his reaction to the diary wrapping those loose ends up is weird, but he could have easily just been going along with whatever naoto was saying out of pure ignorance and embarrassment. As in - pretending to know what was going on to not look like a failure. What really gave it away was him flipping out and running away like a idiot after it being mentioned. Also, I don't get why him using the words "Put them in" is suspicious to Dojima and the others. Didn't MC just explain to Dojima and Adachi in that interrogation room a few days ago how all of this works? It's never specified exactly what MC said, but i'm pretty sure the whole "jumping into a TV" thing was something he would have mentioned when talking about the TV world. Don't see it being a stretch that Adachi just chalks that up to being the killing method.
@@gigamear if I were to try to play devils advocate, I think what Naoto-san means here is that there have been other cases of people disappearing in Inaba for a few days. You could say that's strange for such a small town, but I think she's referring to the fact that all of the kidnapped on Namatame's list were teenagers, and there are presumably other teenagers-gone-missing or running away that the police would have to deal with, without much of a way of knowing which cases, if any, were related to those two murders--unless they had watched the midnight channel, but that seems to me something you could reasonably assume "adults" in Inaba don't really know about, not being privy to high-schoolers' gossip and all. This is just the feeling I get from what the writing's trying to go for, but you're right in that it definitely feels wierd since, well, the people on that list all reported something strange happening to them, a multi-day gap in their memories, in which nobody reported seeing them, while presumably any other case of a teen running from home or playing hooky for a few nights is nothing like that, therefore one could reasonably make the distinction. But that's kinda brushes over for--well, just going by what the police knew from hard evidence, there was no way that Adachi *should* have known before reading that list all the names of who was kidnapped without the names of people who just disappeared or went missing unrelated to the case. That's something only the Investigation Team, Namatame, and the true culprit would know for sure. Though reasonably the police could have deduced that information sort of, Adachi at least shouldn't have said, "That confirms it" since he himself shouldn't have had a firm grasp of who for sure Was the kidnapping victims to cross-reference with Namatame's list. As for the Put them in comment, I think it's again a thing about what Adachi as a detective and adult should have said. Adachi, Dojima, the whole police department, in fact everyone in the game who hadn't already personally experienced the TV shenanigans, even really smart characters like Naoto, automatically assumed it was some sort of prank or wild diversion. Adachi should've been in that same boat, and in fact he said things to that effect of "wild diversion" when the investigation team told him and dojima about the TV world in the interrogation room. Now, all of a sudden, in this heated moment, he says "Put them in," without even a lingering shred of incredibility as to the existence of this TV World? No, it's clear from the way he says it he knows about the world from firsthand experience, which would pretty aptly finger him as the culprit.
Actually he was apart of a list of characters who the main character had known the most about, or at the least, had more familiarity with than "Random Guy On Street Corner #27". I also don't think the way they came up with the criteria for suspects was exactly misinformed speculation.
Takaya wanted the world to end. Nyx came but Protagonist unlocked the Universe Arcana and stopped her from ending the world. So technically Takaya didn't get the last laugh.
@@ippotsk Maybe but even Ikutsuki didn't get what he wanted. He wanted to bring about the Fall and end the human race with him still being around. Thanks to S.E.E.S., not only did the Fall not come, he didn't even last long enough to see anything of Nyx.
he didnt try to kill dojima because it would make him too easy of a suspect since the group was able to find out about his crimes through his connections with the murders
I unironically prefer Chie’s original voice over the one in Golden. Although technically the one in Golden and onwards “fits”, it’s too generic. Her soothing voice combined with her energetic personality helped her stand out in the original in my opinion.
You know I always wondered why adachi didn't just say "I assumed namatame threw them in because of what the protagonist said about the TV, I believed him"?
This was so good. I liked Adachi and wanted to get to know him more. When I learned that he lived alone and didn’t eat well, I felt so bad for him. During his Social Link scenes, I wanted to invite him to dinner so he wouldn’t feel alone. Despite all that, SOMETHING didn’t sit right with me about him. In the back of my mind, I felt he was the culprit, but I didn’t want to believe it. And when we finally confronted him, I was so disappointed in him.☹️
Dojima: You've got to find Adachi. I need to square this away with him... Please. I need him to bring me coffee, I don't know how does he do it. I mean, mine's terrible compared with his coffee!
I’ve finished Persona 4 but i had a hard time guessing who the killer was, until that letter came to the Dojima house. I had my suspicions it was Adachi that sent the letter, but I didn’t know it was actually him. Yeah sure, I thought it was a bit weird why he kept talking about the murders, but I never expected him to be the killer, i thought he was just an idiot.
Lmaooo, You and me both Lol! i was like "Bro what?" At first, even for a moment, I almost thought it was Namatame"s wife, that singer, cause she wasn't seen at all during the whole game, or somehow was ordering the killings from Behind the scenes or something
I hate to be that guy, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who saw this video in my recommended after finishing persona 5 and whilst in the middle of persona 4. Thus making it so I found out Adachi was the killer as the title “confronting Adachi” couldn’t mean much more other than that,
which brings us back to the status of the interrogation; which falls under many prerequisites of unreliable confessions. i should probably state sooner rather than latter that i don't hold any of this against the game, sure i would have preferred something similar to one of the greatest detective series i have ever read. but like death-note had it's ups and down but was ultimately a valued experience.
@machinimamarlon The police didn't think the kidnappings and the murders were related. As Naoto said, there are multiple cases of people going missing and showing up later, so perhaps the police didn't even consider Yukiko, Kanji and Rise's disappearances as a kidnapping, but that they might've run away from home or something. In that case, it would be suspicious of Adachi to consider that Namatame was behind the kidnappings and the murders since according to the police, neither were related.
When i got to this scene, I knew he was gonna slip up somewhere. I was like "Come on. Say something so you can get caught" Lol. I remember how Akechi Slipped up too, with the whole "Pancakes" Thing
@ibenez54 Continuing: In police work you can't just think what is obvious or not. If you don't have proof, you can't just go jumping to conclusions. There are too many factors that could be just a coincidence. Also note that Naoto never confronted Adachi about that until there were more evidence. She must've thought it was more like a slip of tongue or hasty judgement. Besides, knowing how good of a cop Adachi was throughout the game, him solving the case like that would be suspicious in itself.
It was the fact that he said, "put them all in" meaning he Adachi knows about the tv world. How would Adachi know about the tv world? That was why there were surprised. It meant Adachi knew more about the kidnappings then he let on.
John Skauge when Dojima interrogates you you’re forced to be honest with him and he passes it off as you still lying. However adachi was present during that so idk seems kinda like a plot hole to me
If Adachi were to rephrase his words, he could've gotten away scott free

And this was the f*****g video that spoiled Adachi for me. I don't think I would've suspected him had this not had been in my recommendations. I tried telling myself that they confront him over something else, but deep down I knew I got spoiled, because, guess what, I looked up the opening song!

4:50 I LAUGHED SO HARD IN THIS MOMENT LMAO
Adachi gave himself away with that sentence
Adachi become an Danganronpa character for 5 second
5:36 to 6:14 Adachi is accused of knowing more then the police.
Well, couldn't Adachi have been smart enough to think that the suspect merely kidnapped them and they somehow escaped before they could be killed? I mean, logically speaking, couldn't it be Adachi just have figured things out, but was to unsure if he was right? I mean, it IS Adachi's nature to make guesses before he looks at all the logic.
I know he's guilty, but don't you think... it still pokes a hole in Naoto's logic bubble?
8 years too late, but that’s actually a very compelling point.
I wish I could get a redub of the game on PS3 with his anime voice. JYB's Todd Haberkorn impression.
Damn Naoto destroyed him with her words
Naoto destroy Adachi with facts and logics
i feel like a lot of the villains in these are careless. Except for P3 he kind of got the last laugh
Takaya wanted the world to end. Nyx came but Protagonist unlocked the Universe Arcana and stopped her from ending the world. So technically Takaya didn't get the last laugh.
@@vynonyoutube1418 I wonder if he meant Ikutsuki
I agree.
Same. I can't stand her voice in Golden.
Finally! I agree with you immensely!
And when we finally confronted him, I was so disappointed in him.☹️
The same voice actor did Lelouch in code geass and Yu in the anime version :)
Johnny Young Bosch
He also voiced Yu in the game.
Kanji yelled "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" while punching the wall hard....
Dojima: You've got to find Adachi. I need to square this away with him... Please. I need him to bring me coffee, I don't know how does he do it. I mean, mine's terrible compared with his coffee!
Don't know why, but Dojima is the only character that makes me really sad whenever I see him
I’ve finished Persona 4 but i had a hard time guessing who the killer was, until that letter came to the Dojima house.
Adachi: And I would've gotten away with the murder business if it weren't for you meddling kids and your mangy bear mascot.
i always thought it was adachi because he hangs around at junes a lot, like he probably enters the tv too
I hate to be that guy, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who saw this video in my recommended after finishing persona 5 and whilst in the middle of persona 4. Thus making it so I found out Adachi was the killer as the title “confronting Adachi” couldn’t mean much more other than that,
"ADACHII!!!" That's a meme :)

It still is
which brings us back to the status of the interrogation; which falls under many prerequisites of unreliable confessions.
i should probably state sooner rather than latter that i don't hold any of this against the game, sure i would have preferred something similar to one of the greatest detective series i have ever read. but like death-note had it's ups and down but was ultimately a valued experience.

This scene is really good. What a spiel.
Besides, knowing how good of a cop Adachi was throughout the game, him solving the case like that would be suspicious in itself.
someone tell me why was the gang so surprised when adachi said nametame put them all in? i thought they already knew he heard them talk about the tv.
MegaMan Warriors They were actually surprised because it was purely accidental.
MegaMan Warriors because he has the same powers like them and knew about the tv world
It was the fact that he said, "put them all in" meaning he Adachi knows about the tv world.
