    Amazing job, dude. This is the first time I watch this type of setup with the PS3. Always wanted to see how it does with those downscalers. Keep up the good work.

      Thanks a lot! I'm glad to see there's a few people who are interested in downscaling!

    I took a 6 hour road trip just to get this thing. My seller was selling it for $75 and I couldn't turn that down despite the travel distance. He even threw in an extra BNC cable.

      Wow! I would've done the same thing. Congrats on your find!

    Little bit complicated setup. Faginrs500 made it more straight and easy. Super Emotia + Ultimate Scart Adapter to Sony Trinitron (Scart RGB in)

    Do you know if this woukd work from a pc (emulation setup) to the PVM/BVM and does it introduce any lag for the processing ?

    • @Ex_Savior
      @Ex_Savior  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it will. The Super Emotia was made with PC resolutions in mind. If you're looking to downscale an image from your PC onto a BVM like the one shown in my video, this is a solid option. As far as lag goes, I don't believe you'll experience any.

    Is anyone aware of a processor that allows for fine aspect controls? Like if I wanted to integer scale 480p to 960p in a 1080 frame (black border all around). Or even take a 1080p signal and scale it down to 900p in a 1080 frame.

    • @Ex_Savior

      That's an interesting question. No idea on my end.

    Thanks for the video. Do you have a part number for the power supply? What are the volts and amps of the power supply? Can you send a picture?

      Did you figure it out? It looks like a mini-DIN connection...

      I would Google this. I sold this a while back and wouldn't be able to tell you anymore.

    Fantastic job, can you say me if i take a arcade game that native resolution is 224p, for example, many games are not exactly 240p in its native resolutions, but the question is, if i take one game from my pc in 480p (native resolution was 224p) and make this What you did. I Will take the real deal of the arcade? Or the image Will not be pixel perfect? Thank you

    • @Ex_Savior
      @Ex_Savior  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not tested any Arcade or Jamma boards with this, but I see where you're getting at.
      Yes, if you can manage to upscale your 224p image to 480p, you can feed that image into a Super Emotia and it should technically work.
      The biggest challenge you'd be facing is the upscale.

    Can’t the 203 downscale 480p on it’s own? Do you need the Emotia?

    • @Ex_Savior
      @Ex_Savior  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, the 203 Rxi is a sync processor that will take an RGBS/RGBHV/RGsB signal and convert it to any signal you want it to output. It will not convert the image to the desired "240p" image.

    What do 3D games, like Call of Duty, look like at 240p?

    • @Ex_Savior
      @Ex_Savior  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They look like trash tbh. I'd prefer to only keep downscaling to games that have a sprite look to them, like Scott Pilgrim or Shovel Knight.

    Hello, I hope you can help me.
    I have an Extron Super Emotia GX that has a single VGA input, I have it connected to a PVM by RGB. How can I connect a Playstation 1 to the Extron?

    • @Ex_Savior
      @Ex_Savior  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can connect your PlayStation 1 to the Extron Emotia, but nothing will happen.
      The PlayStation 1 outputs in either 240 and/or 480i. This minimum resolution this will convert from is 480p.

    I’ve read elsewhere that you are suppose to have the rxi before the emotia in the signal chain. Do you have the rxi as the last piece on the chain?

    • @Ex_Savior
      @Ex_Savior  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I found the picture to look great to my standards. The use of the RGB 203 Rxi is to move the pixel level either one up or down to increase sharpness.
      The scanlines start blending together at lines 2 and 3, and not at 1 and 2 as it should. This in turn might create a less sharper image than desired.
      Personally I'm fine with it, but other people may want to use one just in case.

      How exactly do you put the rxi before the emotia? Do you turn your hdmi console into vga then plug that into the rxi then use the output from the rxi into the emotia then the bnc out of the emotia to your display?

    Does this feature work on Extron VSC700?

    • @veganjones8985
      @veganjones8985 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you don't have the Emotia. Then you need both a VSC box and a RGB box to make 240p

    As someone who doesn't appreciate scanlines all that much, I don't really see the point when you have a multi-format BVM. Those games are meant to be played with detail.
    But as a video nerd, I love to see you playing around with this stuff

    • @Ex_Savior
      @Ex_Savior  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. Not every game was meant to be played with scanlines, but the fact that I do have a BVM is the reason why I do this. Nothing beats what you see with an original game on it's original console, but since so many retro collection games are coming out, it would be nice to see them with real scanlines from my BVM and not the scanlines the software emulates.

    • @EposVox

      Yeah that makes sense

      Scanlines are basically anti aliasing for 240p 15khz games.

    the magic here is done by the 203 rxi. without it its better not messing with the downscale.

      I had to use it for the SCART set I was using at the time.

    Those emulated games from the PSN won´t look good no mather what downscaling method you use, since they are all filtered and badly stretched from the go and on most times you can't adjust the screen in order to get a perfect pixel to scanline alignment.

    • @Ex_Savior
      @Ex_Savior  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are absolutely right. I tried both Mega Man X5 on the PS3 using the actual disc and the PSN version. The PlayStation disc was considerably sharper than the PSN game.
