    Admittedly, I did NOT have the greatest time covering this match. Although it was an honor, I was ill prepared and Truman and I are not used to working with each other. In Truman's defense, he does not have all the experience as a commentator that he should most likely have earned before doing such a high profile match.
    But hey, this video is FREE, remember. Beat me or join me!

      I think You and Truman were absolutely wonderful together. His reactions to multiple shots were so sincere and makes me watch this video at least twice a week!!! Please do more commentating Truman HW!!!!!!!!!!

      You& Truman needs to read up on your pool player's and who the best is and was, Efren Reyes is not the best player that ever lived, the best player in the world is Alfredo de Oro he has 22" world titles in straight pool & 22" world titles in 3 cushion billiards, Efren Reyes don't come close to that margin, Alfredo de Oro is Nick named ** the grand daddy of pool** because he's the best ,go study pocket billiards so all you commentators can stop lying to pool player's and pool fans.

    It’s 2019, and I truly think this is the best match on TH-cam. You see the true creativity and knowledge these guys have acquired. Alcano was playing at the top of his game in this video. He’s kinda fell off since then. A true pleasure to see these Philippino gods play.

    So when you play the object ball OFF another object ball it's a carom, and when you play the cue ball off a ball to re-use the cue ball to pocket another, it's a billiard. Is that correct? I'd (earnestly) like to get this accurate. :) Thanks for watching -- and thank you also for your edification.

    2 of top 5 players of all times for me. alcano won the world champioship in 2006 if im not mistaken, and i havent seen him missing more than 2 shots per game. its too bad he came when reyes exited his prime.
    as for alcano, he said his idol is efren, he has the same mustache as him and some people say that he did an operation on his upper lip to get it looking like one of reyes.
    incredible story behind those two masters.

    A carom is any contact between two balls other than the initial contact of the cue ball to the object ball after the stroke. A billiard is the when an object ball redirects the cue ball into the ball intended to be pocketed. This comes from billiards where the cue ball must strike two object balls to receive points. SO, every billiard shot--like the one at 9:57--is a carom shot, but not every carom is a billiard shot. However, using the terms in this manner applies only to pocket billiards.

    Thanks.

    • @ShaxAMV
      @ShaxAMV 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is 10 ball, you go from 1 to 10, it's not 8 ball where it's stripes vs solids and last one gets black (8 ball).

      10 ball is the new pro 9 ball. That one extra ball makes a huge difference not to mention 10 ball completely takes out the luck factor. If you want to learn how to play pool, WATCH THE PROS! B/c if you aren't trying to do what the pros are doing then who are you trying to play like. Look at the decisions the pros do in all the different situations and try to replicate it. Chess is like pool. It's all about the right move. Good Luck!

    at 42:00 minutes the 9th game the commentators explain the causes and effects of dirty/chalked up balls what is exactly what my recent video I posted about “why you need to clean your cue and balls” and what can happen. Especially if both cue and object balls have chalk on them when they hit each other massive throw can happen or like the old truck to put chalk in two balls then freeze them together for trick shots.

    yes u will have a problem but with enough practice u get used to it u must play on tables with blue cloth a lot some tines its hard to see the 2 ball on a blue cloth so people that play on blue will have trouble with the green 6 on green cloth / and people that play often on blue will have trouble on 2 ball begin blue but with enough table time u get used to it so practice practice practice just pick one color table and stick to it i suggest blue since most tournaments use blue

    By the way I like commentary. Isn't the best I've heard and isn't the worst. At least they are watching the match, unlike some commentators who talk about everything under the sun and don't even comment on the match. I don't mind some enthusiasm. Not everybody who watches these things is a jaded knowitall who knows everything there is to know about the tiny world of professional pool--and if that describes you, just turn your sound off, shouldn't be too hard.

    You may all think Truman sounds like an idiot, but he has a lot of knowledge of this game. Ronnie and Efren played some amazing shots and stroked the balls with strokes that are so hard and that is why Truman sounded the way he did. If you goto Hardtimes and gamble with Truman make sure to bring your whole bankroll cause you are going to need it.

    • @ryanwordonethird
      @ryanwordonethird 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The day you goto Hard Times and play on table 1 and 6 you will find out. If you ever watch Incardona commentate on those 2 tables he does the exact same thing. Those 2 tables are some of the toughest in the world to play on. Bustamante said it himself once... "Those 2 tables are the toughest tables I have ever played on".

    • @ryanwordonethird
      @ryanwordonethird 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thats true, but it is better then having that girl Barbra and Jon Burtone commentate. They just talk about bbq's and how he needs to loose weight. After watching that one I never wanted to get a Kamui tip again.. Haha

    Shot at 10ish minute mark is a billiard.. carom is when you pocket a ball by hitting an object ball and having that object ball strike another object ball. Shooting the cue ball into an object ball and having the cue ball hit and pocket another ball is a billiard shot. bad explanation but it's the difference lol. Cool game.

  • @digniFisk
    @digniFisk 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    No.. Carom is when you shoot an object ball (Ball A) into an other object ball (Ball B) and pocketing Ball A.. Please, less ignorant comments..

    He was supposed to hit the 2-ball first. That was a 5-ball that went in (it's orange, I got confused at the beginning of the match :P).

    Who are those crazy guys just casually playing a few games while this is on?! For crying out loud, go get a beer and pull up a stool! Legendary skill on display. Probably didn't recognise them; Reyes especially is so unassuming.

      2006 World 8 ball and 9 ball champion. Alcano beat the brakes off of Ralf Souquet in 9. Definitely a world beater. I try to find as many videos of him that I can. His game is absolutely amazing!!!
