    Thanks for the video! Just for clarification, were you able to take off the OEM style rear diffuser (NOT the mounting bracket, just the diffuser) without taking off the bumper?

      Yes you can. It’s easiest if you reverse your car up the driveway or onto a set of ramps for maximum clearance.

      @@DJBirbman Awesome, thanks for the prompt reply! I ask only because I have both a rear diffuser and a rear fog light on order. The rear diffuser is supposed to arrive first while I have to wait a month for the fog light, so basically I was wondering if I should just be patient and install them both at the same time or if it's okay having the diffuser there first.

      I recommend having them both installed at the same time. Removing the rear bumper is a pain. It's not hard, it's just tedious. I understand where you're coming from. I was suppose to wait until I got my CF trunk to install both at the same time haha.

    Hi man I love your videos! Did you notice any kind of gap after removing and reinstalling the rear bumper?

    Hey Tom,I'm getting ready to pull off my rear bumper to install the factory style rear diffuser exactly like yours, removing the bumper seems straight forward enough. The part i'm not sure of is when your bumper is removed and you talk about using a 10 mm socket and then a drill. Are you actually removing the bumper frame?Any help would be appreciated!Stay safe.

      If you look at the bracket provided for your rear diffuser, that bracket will be mounted on the frame of your car. You'll need an extended 10mm socket wrench with a power drill to remove the bolts. They're screwed tight and will need to be removed by that. You won't be able to move it by hand. When you're doing the install, you can reach me directly and I can help you step by step with the install.

    Step 1) break between 1 and all pop clips.
    Step 2) buy replacement clip set
    Step 3) repeat step 1 until step 2 is needed again.

      For reals! I'm going to buy a pop clip set off amazon. It's so frustrating when these clips won't budge. Then when you break them, they come off so freaking easily! Then you're left with holes and loose panels everywhere.

      @@DJBirbman One trick I learned with these clips (as a result I've never broken even one yet - believe it or not :P ) is that, to pull it out of whichever hole it's in, you're not actually supposed pop out the inner piece of the clip (the inner stud part that holds the head) out of the outer shaft of the clip all the way.
      It's a little tricky to explain but basically if you look at the design of the clip there is kind of this "sweet spot" area in between all the way pressed in and almost all the way pulled (it needs to remain loose not tight). And once the inner piece is loose and wiggles around freely then you can start pulling up the outer shaft of the clip out of the hole it's on (without moving the inner piece in the process - leaving it wiggled loose the whole time). I know it sounds a little difficult but trust me once you figure this trick out (basically the specific design of the clip itself not really a trick) it's make your life a heck of a lot easier removing these.
      And of course goes without saying buying a cheap set of trim/clip removal tools is well worth the investment and will definitely make it infinitely easier than wedging them with just a flat screwdriver. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XF1F3CS/
      Hope this tip helps! Great video btw, always wanted to see a nice clear rear bumper removing tutorial. :)

      @@Rebirth3362 I still have 2 missing from bumper from painting my headlights, and 1 from doing the mud flaps lol yea. They suck. I really understands why people have quick release bumpers. I dont take mine off enough to justify it tho. Maybe in a couple years when the mod list starts building up....

    Did you have to drill to install splash guards?

    • @DJBirbman
      @DJBirbman  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't tread on me nope! The splash guards require in total, 3 screws, 2 pop clips, and 3M tape for each side; all are provided
