I had my 7th birthday party at Pizza Hut in 1984. All the guests got to go back in the kitchen and make our own personal pan pizzas, and it was an unforgettable experience! I miss Pizza Hut of the 80s!
😂😂😂 GenX on TH-cam? Heck, yeah!!! Honestly, watching your channel has shown me where to find this great old content! I am now deeply immersed in so many old shows, soap operas, after-school specials and more! I love your channel & appreciate you more than you know ❤
We always knew Christmas was coming when the Ronco commercials started running! Pocket fisherman, smokeless ashtrays, and Mr. Mike: hey good looking! We'll be back to pick you up later! 😂
Love the vintage commercials. Strange that the advertisements that annoyed me then are so entertaining now. Maybe it's the nostalgia glasses, maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybelline. 😊
😂😂 I love the commercials too! I’m gonna do more of those in the future. I’m kind of testing to see how long this weekly video should be, and how much I should include. Didn’t want to overload people. Lol.
I absolutely love this channel!! As a baby Gen X’er (born in 1980) aka Xillennial, this channel brings back so many great memories and gives me the warm fuzzies ❤❤❤❤
@@beatsventura8813xennials are 1976-1984ish. The lines are blurry. If you had an analog childhood and a digital adulthood, that’s the best way to describe xennials.
I like to occasionally find a compilation of commercials broadcast on the same day 40 years ago, and just watch it without even once counting down until the Skip button appears. I have no idea how anyone found seemingly a VHS tape of broadcast TV for every day of the week....but thank you, whomever is doing it!
Thanks for the suggestions. I love watching 80's and 90's commercials and it amazes me how many are buried in my memory. And I recently watched Amy Jo Johnson's guest role on Saved By The Bell: The New Class.
I can really relate to two of the things you mentioned in this video. First of all, the video of the trip to McDonalds in 1984 reminded me of a favorite YT video of mine where a guy with a camcorder interviewed random strangers at a 7-11 in Orlando in the 80s, and second, when that person mentioned wanting to move to NYC in 1987, I could TOTALLY relate, because I've always wanted to live in 1985 Miami! 🤣
Just recently found your channel, in the past 2 months or so. Love it, and this is a very fine idea for a series. It's gonna be awesome! Thanks! I was born in 1970, I recall those Burger King ads. Not as good as the Big Mac song-- Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun! Kinda hate that that earworm remains in my head all these years later. haha.
Fellow Canadian here. Back in the not so recent days when us Canadians produced cop shows like Flashpoint and Rookie Blue, along with the occasional medical drama (some titles have escaped me), and before the company went bankrupt, Just for Laughs Gags to fill the American broadcast networks summer schedules.
@@higgy04 We absolutely did have these. I just wanted to let Natalie know about Flashpoint since she's an Amy-Jo fan. Nice to see fellow hosers in this discussion.
MADJB is pretty freaking awesome. Funny, I remember the soul version of the Burger King ad very clearly, but I don't remember the regular version at all.
Pure pure Gold. Thank you and all the others for putting their videos together. As much as I hated being in school and an adolescent I would love to go back and visit for a while🧝🏿♀️
I truly know someone is going to be a special friend if they get it when I quip "I said no salt, NO salt!" or..."Hey, are you about a size 14?" ...another GREAT Gen-X film! (ps...the novel is great as well..is it Gen-X to be annoying about ALSO having read the book always?)
I have Amy Jo in my subs. Her songs are so good! I do feel sad when I see her because I dated the best girl on earth who strongly resembled her. 19 years later, I still wish I could hold Brandi again. She made me believe in myself. Whenever I introduced her, people would notice the resemblance and work references to the Pink Ranger into conversation. She once noted that my associates were really into Power Rangers. She had no idea why my friends made the reference.
When I was growing up in Indianapolis we had Pizza Hut Aunt Polly's Pizza. But for me VH1 in the '90s was huge we had music videos by Amy Grant Sade Sting Billy Joel etc, and later in the decade, we had Behind The Music Pop Up Video, etc.
This a a great channel for... ME TO POOP ON! love the trips down memory lane without the irritating nostalgia music! I look forward to seeing future videos.
I'm from Massachusetts, and back in the day, our go-to pizza restaurant was Papa Gino's. Sadly, many of them have gone defunct, including one that was just down the street from me. It was the place to have pizza parties for your birthday, when you were a kid. My sister had hers there, once. Instead of Pin the Tail on the Donkey, they had Pin the Pepperoni on the Pizza! So good! And, if it was your birthday, you got to go into the kitchen, and they'd let you make your own pizza! So cool! 😎🍕 Let's see, what is some of my favorite Gen X TH-cam content? I've seen one called The 80s Vault, this channel, of course, Let's Run it Back, and D.D. Conway's Nostalgic Lounge. I've also seen videos of the Animaniacs voice actors performing in concerts, doing interviews, and meeting the fans. I also watch The Take discuss classic shows such as Friends. Thanks for the video! Looking forward to the next one!
I remember back when Pizza Hut was a family destination. That was an affordable place to go have a pretty good pizza. Anyone else remember trying to eat piping hot pizza and loving it.
Power Rangers one. of the reasons why I wanted to roller blades. every time I saw them and quite a few other advertisements. for rollerblades. People just having fun on. rollerblades. made me wish I had them.
I love this channel. And I just found out that the second channel is called Natalie's VHS Vault. That's a neat coincidence, my second channel is called Brack's VHS Vault.
Yap can't forget someone is smoking inside the restaurant while you are trying to enjoy that happy meal. 1980's how far we have improved, as much as the 80's was awesome the 90's was the last of it.
Wow..just thinking of it; Gen X had it DOWN with horror. From Christopher Pike, to The Silence of the Lambs, 80's iconic horror icons, The Great Pumpkin, Garbage Pail Kids, Choose Your Own Adventure., actual serial killers, missing kids on milk cartons, Satanic Panic, The 700 Club, I could go on and on. LOL...maybe I should make a YT Gen-X on that!

This is a super fun series idea. This video popped-up on my feed awhile back and lead me down a rabbit hole for 70s/80s music that I heard growing up. When you hear the vocalist Tori Holub, I think you'll understand why.... th-cam.com/video/J95lfJqo9VY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pWKX25RdIPQgMMvE
I was born the year before Natalie and I can't believe that younger people would think TH-cam is only for millennials and younger generations. I haven't seen any of the channels listed in this video and I seem to not watch too much Nostalgic stuff. This list was interesting though.
I love middle aged dad jam band! I'm glad they're growing. I don't like Nicole Eggert - she spread mean lies about Scott Baio. I like your channel. You don't keep repeating the same GenX stereotypes over and over again, like a lot of the other GenX-centric channels do.
I am just all over YT. I click my ball and pick what comes up. I really am going to get to everything I subscribe to...honest. But then I see a vid advertised at the end on the one I'm watching or on the right as I read comments. So, I click on that and on and on. I've decided I must not have a 'type' and am easily swaying by the picture and title. So, again, I am behind on my subscribed channels.
There is a really good documentary about the mall from the 1980s. It is so so good. I will have to put the link in the comments. I know you will enjoy it!
