Personally I would drain the sump before changing the Filter. Plus the Filter seal needs a little oil wiping on it to ensure a good seal. Filter should be hand tight. The dip stick showed the oil level low and hence needed topping up after the short engine run. A strap filter release tool would be easier to remove.

why did you use 5W40 oil? isn't that outside the recommended range? My 2013 Fit specifies 0W20 and can't imagine the engine being that much more advanced.

My 2007 Jazz uses liqui moly 10w 40 engine oil and you know, the performance is.. amazing.. especially on the highway road, somewhere in a tropical climate country.. 😊
Terrible. The new filter should be half filled before fitting and the rubber seal lubricated with a little engine oil. Furthermore it is recommended that a new sump plug is fitted AND it must be torqued to the correct tension.

Should ideally be 5/30 fully synthetic.
@@grimreaper-qh2zn Honestly I prefer 0W-30, at least for places where it gets down to freezing temperatures. Same viscosity as 5W-30 when at operating temperature but flows better at startup. Either one is fine but that's my preference. 100% agree with using full synthetic.
