Available exclusively at Swinging Cafe Doors, the 3" commercial grade double acting spring hinge comes in satin brass, polished brass, satin chrome, oil rubbed bronze and gloss black finishes. We are featuring the oil rubbed bronze finish in this video. The double action means the door can be pushed open in either direction and it self-returns to center using spring tension.
Spring hinges come in a variety of sizes, this 3" size is referencing the spring length. The springs are located inside the right and left barrels.
Our Design Features a uniform cylinder diameter, which creates a more durable hinge, as well as providing a uniform look.
The 3" spring hinge mounts to the side of the door, each door requires a minimum of 2 hinges. 2 hinges can hold up to 35 lbs and up to a 24" wide door, 3 hinges per door holds up to 50 lbs and up to 26" wide door.
These hinges are to be used on doors that are 3/4" to 1-3/8" thick. You can adjust the tension on the spring for a faster or slower return of the doors. The spring hinges do not allow a hold open option.
The most common application for these spring hinges are restaurants or others in the hospitality industry that need to have the doors self close to comply with local or state code. Also used in residential applications on swinging doors including full length doors.
