I have been always selling this double acting spring hinges, but i had never saw such a skilled carpenter for installation of the spring hinges. Thanks for your good sharing. Very perfect installation! But sometimes, i am not really sure of that their loading rates for different door weights/width because there are several common sizes of the spring hinges from 3" (76mm), 4" (101mm), 5" (127mm), 6" (150mm), 8" (200mm), 7" is rare. One more question about the door thickness especially metal door thickness will define size between two barrels of the spring hinge.

i am looking for hinges that will allow me to use the same door to lock in two different doorways. say one way would be the normal placement and then the other doorway is at a 90 degree angle. would it allow me to open the door 180 degrees?

It can be but if the door is too heavy you’ll have to put more hinges

Hi. I have a super heavy swing door at home in which one of the hinges is making very loud spring-y kind of sounds. Is it ok to pour oil on the hinge ? Will that spoil the door installation or make the doors loose ?

The thickness of the spacer is the same thickness of the door these hinges come in different sizes

Is there a hinge that lets me mount a door to a wall and then opens to 270 degrees? Most doors open to be flush against a wall at 90degree, if there is no wall, you can open most doors to 180. But I'm putting a door on a wall and then I want it to bend all the way around and be flush against a wall 270 degrees later. Is that possible with hinges?
I think that can be possible if you fix double hinges one open another but again it will take a lot of space Because you need a spacer between them

Yes, looks decently made.
Anyone else think most doors in most homes should have these hinges? Pushing doors is nicer and no doors ever bang. Bedroom door locks can still lock.

Hinges have the hole adjusters on the bottom. I saw you adjusting the bottom and wondering if the top hinge adjustment holes on the top.

Sorry. Confusing myself. I have installed my double doors. The left side has the adjusting at the top and the right at the bottom. Is this correct? As I noticed you were adjusting a door on the clip from the bottom.

I bought a few sets of Everbilt double hinges from Home Depot and the leaflet instructions were so misleading, incorrect and missing steps I had to watch this video to understand how to do it. And I have built entire additions, garages etc for years. I am no stranger to DIY and the instructions that came with the product were so misleading.

Why couldnt you just make the hinges directly to door instead adding that so called spacer??
It will not fit correctly and it will make a hell of noise banging to the frame while it’s open and close
@@mardakworkshop4450 i did it but only thing i had to do was cut the door little deeper for the hinges, add little wd40 and tighten hinges and worked perfectly, swings back and forth for the kitchen, at first wasn't sure if it was gonna work, thankfully it did
A very good video but ,for a novice like me,I would need an endless supply of doors or a University degree in hinges before I could fit those !
