  • I highly recommend checking out Trees For Houston! They are a wonderful non-profit that gives away thousands of trees every year here in the Houston area!

🎉🎉🎉 I got in line at 7:30. Was blessed to get a spot on the road and scored 3 of the last 5 blueberry bushes. They are huge! 😮

@@texasgardenguythey were out of nectarines when I went through the line at 8:50. Idk if they were popular or just low stock.

We got a persimmon tree last fall. My husband’s choice…. I also got two huge beautyberries last spring. Trees for Houston is a great organization!

My apple tree died last year from the heat we had. I’m going to try again this year.

My Ein Sheimer bloomed and tried to produce twice a year. Of course the second bloom didn't get to mature before winter came. After about 20 years the main tree rotted and fell but now I have a new tree from the roots. Great tree for the Houston area.

You need to get there like at 7 AM bring your lunch or breakfast or whatever so we’ve gone to several of those and if I don’t go, I have friends that do go and so we all help each other with trees my friend went and made it to one and she gave me a fig tree and the crab apple tree And I also got a some type of a berry and they’re purple but they’re edible I’m excited for the crabapple it says 3 to 4 years to get really good apples. I have an awesome pear tree that I’ve had for 22 years. I gave it one good butchering this winter but it’s already given me blooms so we’ll get some pears this year. 🍐🍐

Do you recommend me to plant my lime tree in the ground? I’m in Katy Texas ! Thank you

I love citrus trees, the draw back here in Houston is the few days of below freezing temperature we get each year. Lime trees seemed to be more sensitive to freeze than some of the other citrus such as myer lemon, orange, grapefruit. One might mulch it heavily and protect the roots to at least keep the roots alive should the branches become damaged by the freeze. The other option is to plant it in a big pot and move it into the garage when temp dips below 32.
