    I have several concerns.
    Firstly, undoing screws to change footrest length for different users or storage is cumbersome & there needs to be a quick release style solution.
    Next your peripheral mounts are not right.
    Side plates are too far forward & too high to be used.
    Sit in the seat, rest your arms on the arm rests & you should be able to position your hotas & throttle right where your hands are.
    Next, a main center plate is needed in addition to side plates, not instead of.
    When using a hotas & throttle you'll need it for keyboard. when using wheel, you'll also need side mounts for things like keyboards, handbrake, shifters. When using a yoke, you'll need sidemounts for throttle, keyboard. Lower & closer for both examples.
    The position you put that throttle in low down on the left is not great.
    Next, your side rail plate needs a vertical adjustment. 2 very common shifters (logitech & thrustmaster th8a) both hang off of the front of the plate.
    Your design does not accommodate this & will either need vertical adjustment or a block to raise it from the rail.
    Also many combat flight simmers (dcs) will be wanting a center mount in between legs for flight stick/hotas.
    Sorry for the criticism but the design looks to be lacking in all peripheral mounting areas & flight simmers/sim racers etc.. wont be able to use it properly as default without modifying it

      I agree on most areas, although the guy in the video had the desk and side mounts up really high as they can be lowered quite a bit. I'm not sure why he kept them so high? Lol....I agree that the side rail mounts need a height adjustment as well or at least an option to add additional 80/20 profile bars to add height (which would probably be the easiest solution). And we definitely need a center mount for flight sticks. Other than that though, I have to say that they look very solid and sturdy, not cheap at all. But some adjustments do need to be made to make the peripherals more adjustable and useable.

      Had to read through this a couple of times, to follow what you're describing...also wanted to be sure I don't needlessly duplicate your ideas for my own comments (agree with it all though🙂). Just to clarify (this part confused me) about side plates being too far forward & high...it's the plate(s), not side plate(s), that you refer to, right? I intend to use my yaw as a flight sim only rig, and so, also agree on the need for an accessory for mounting the cyclic stick between legs.

      I also wanted to add regarding the desk with the side mounts problem. For a HOTAS setup at least, I think the main desk plate is needed for the mouse/keyboard but as long as they raise the side RAIL mounts with additional 80/20 bars or whatever, they should be good to use for stick and throttle (at least until a center mount is available). They appear to be able to move forward or back for adjustment as well, which would make the side mounts unnecessary. The desk plate appears to be adjustable with forward and back screw holes so that you can make the desk closer or further from you, but the side plates don't seem to have that option due to their size. I hope they can show all of these adjustments and range of motion in their next video.

      Unfortunately the position of the side plates for hotas & throttle has been confirmed as too high & far forward by one of the first backers who received the yaw2

      I agree a pair of side rails with a raised height seem to offer a much better position than the official side plates instead of desk.
      Honestly I can't see a good use for the main side plates in their current positions, & they take the main desk away so they are actually just a problem in my opinion

    Not to nitpick, just advice for future videos. It's very difficult to see specific areas, on black parts, held up in front of someone who is wearing black, as well. Either hold the parts off to the side, so that the background lighting can provide some contrast, or wear a different colored sweater 😉

      Agree. Also, we need shots of the peripherals at a distance instead of extreme close-ups to gauge their size and distance relative to the chair.

    Just a suggestion from a marketing guy who just spent two hours trying to figure out if he could mount side rails for accesories..... Pitch the side rails more and show them off! This could be great as the aluminum extrusions allow for you to attach anything you want, where ever you like. Big selling point, IMHO.
    Looking forward to all the amazing things you all are doing over there! You are definately on the right path to success.

  • @matthewcoleman8267

    You really needed to show someone sat in the chair using the peripherals. As others have said the side mounts (for HOTAS) look to be far to far away to be comfortable to use. Right at the start of the project people raised concerns about the strength and flex of the foot plate when mounting pro level equipment to it. The centre plate looks like it will flex and bend as well, a strengthening member on the underside of the plate would improve things.

    Can you do an ergonomics video review on how you use the 2 plates with joystick/throttle and to see the position of the body when typing on the big desk? This is important for long periods of use modes (i.e. used as work desk, etc.) because if the desk is too far from typing comfortably then it is considered non-functional for certain use.

    I can see a lot of feckling and hacksawing to enable the correct positioning of joystick (between my legs) and helicopter collective (further back than the side mount presently shows), if I am to switch seamlessly between fixed wing simming and rotary wing simming.

    I received my YAW 2 VR Pro Edition last week and it contains a central mount for the large plate and three smaller plates with holes (like shown here but smaller). The center plate only has six holes to mount those smaller plates, but nothing to attach periphery to.
    Please also make a video on how to work with the central mount and it's accessoires.

    Is there a way to get serious helicopter controls onto this rig? Currently I don’t understand how a „real“ cyclic (not a joystick!) could be fixed in the middle between the legs. It’s not only about the middle position of the cyclic, it’s also about the height, that „real“ cyclics have. Those table plates, neither the large one nor the small one, are not required for helicopter controls. Only a (low) side mount for the collective.
    Any advice/suggestions of how helicopter controls can be applied to the Yaw2 are really appreciated.

    Is it possible to attach two plates to one side rail? Or two side rails to the same side? I'd like to mirror my current setup which has a manual shifter (for driving) and a flight stick (for flying) on the same side of the seat (one in front of the other)

      I can't tell for sure, but I think the answer is a definite maybe. I'd expect you can, you just may need a longer screw. Like I said in a response to another comment, I'm thinking I may fabricate my own plates to better suit my needs. (I own a small laser and plasma cutting business)

    Those pedals are not very heavy, which is the maximum pedal weight you can use? I have a Fanatec Clubsport V3 Pedals.
    Also, as other people are saying, those sideplates seem too far and high to play comfortably with a hotas, can you make a detailed video with a person actually using them, showing the ergonomy, because something seems off.

      i agree, please use devices that most people who spend money on this will be using, not entry level devices that you use when you just start with simulators (that is not when you will buy a motion rig). Can it handle T-LCM pedals (5kg) and TPR Pendular Ruder pedals (7kg).

    • @FlightSims
      @FlightSims 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea, those looked only half a kilo 😂. I’ve got the MFG pedals and they have a wee bit more weight, maybe three kilos or so. Also I commented on an above one about various possible add ons for the side plates.

    • @JoernR
      @JoernR 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not just the weight of the pedals, it's the force that tiny bars need to withstand if you hit the brakes hard.
      Slightest bit of bending - and you cannot control the brake force anymore.
      Mounting plate also won't withstand the forces a capable DD wheel delivers.
      No up/down movement, so racing/rally can't feel like racing/rally.
      Sim racing with serious hardware just cannot work with this design.
      So they sell a device for toy gaming - at a price only serious simmers are willing to pay. Doesn't fit.

    • @YawVR
      @YawVR  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi guys,
      The maximum pedal weight is 10 kg what the footrest can withstand in addition to the load on the feet itself. We tested the load capacity when the footrest is fully extended.
      The plate holders themselves can be adjusted, around 8 cm back and forth, so that should solve it for all / most preferred length. We have received some feedback about this, and we'll make a short video in addition to the current one showing these adjustments. Besides, we’ll test and fine-tune the distance as well.

    1. Flimsy footrest bar will bend and break if you mount real pedals and dare to use them.
    2. Position of the single mounting pads doesn't seem right.
    3. Hair-thin long mounting plate will bend down if you mount a serious heavy sim racing wheel - and get ripped into pieces if you use it.
    Unfortunately, everything looks like being made for toy-grade and weak plastic hardware. I don't see any way of using my solid and powerful sim racing equipment.
    Until that shortcomings are addressed, let's just call the device the "Rollercoaster seat"; and nothing else.

    • @justaguydoinstuff
      @justaguydoinstuff 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it depends if those metal bars are solid steel or hollow. If hollow, you may have a point, but if they are stolid steel, then I think they would be solid enough. We'll have to see in their actual use demo. *Edit- It looks like the bars are hollow so ya that could be a problem for driving sims. Luckily, I'm only using for flight sims and rudder pedals don't require too much force. I think this device is really more suited for flight sims than racing sims personally.

    • @JoernR
      @JoernR 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@justaguydoinstuff - Indeed. Flight sims and - rollercoasters. ;)
      We can fully forget about that "relax chair" or "working chair" babble - nobody will ever buy that thing for such purposes.
      Price defines the target group: Hardcore simmers.
      I'd been happy when I first saw the machine. "Finally! One for all! And still affordable; more or less."
      But then Yaw VR slowly turned into Flaw VR: Can't work for sim racing/rallying. Pedal and wheel supports not beefy enough, waaay too weak. No DP/HDMI pass-through - I don't wish to strangulate myself with the headset cable when turning 360 degrees. No up/down movement (announced but uinavailable) - mandatory for race/rally.
      The result is something I just don't understand: Made for hardcore simmers of all kinds, but reduced to flight simulators and rollercoasters.
      I'd buy that thing immediately, if I could use it for sim racing. But I can't. Why, Yaw VR, why? ;)

      It was addressed in one of the previous videos. If you want to use dd wheels and heavy pedals, you have to build your own frame to attach the pedals, seat, and wheel too. Then you can mount that on the yaw2. They also said they might sell a premade frame for it at a later date
