- It's been four years since the "biggest band on Earth" toured together. U2's new show, the Innocence + Experience Tour, leaves the huge outdoor stadiums and moves indoors. Anthony Mason sits down with the band members in Vancouver to discuss their plans.

Agreed. To me, perhaps the most impressive parts of it is they did it without any of the breakups, departures, death, scandal, destruction, devastation, etc. that typically comes along with bands/artists in music. That all says a lot about the type of human beings they are.

When I was a teenager on a cold winter night doing my homework and listening to New Year’s Day on low volume, tapping the eraser of my pencil to the beat, I predicted U2 would be massively successful as a rock group. I just knew they were special.

Me too! Saw this show at MSG in NYC and fell in love all over again. Fell in love with U2 in the early 80's and they have been soundtrack to my life too! Listening to U2 is always like going home ...

My admiration for U2 stopped the moment they enlisted themselves as a "Dutch" band to avoid the Irish taxes. He can talk as much as he wants about the unfairness of the world, but it sounds bitter and hypocrytical when you deny your own country the benifits of your work.
Dorientje Woller The Irish government didn’t take tax off artists. U2 were by then earning hundreds of millions of dollars. Not many people wouldn’t have used (and still use) loopholes like this. Racing drivers who live in Monaco for example

This band has guided me through life, the highs, the lows, I'm now 52 & their music still brings lots of tears of happiness & joy! ❤🙏 ...... I never knew the story behind Bono's mum Iris, much the same sadness as that of Larry's Mum which is evenmore tragic as he lost his mother & sibling in a car crash, how awful, now that brings alot of tears ...... Poor poor man & I very much love Larry the most, he's such an inspiration for me & the main reason I started playing drums!! Having watched the Sphere chapter in You Tube wishing I could have been there, sadly without Larry but still high level talent! I hope these guys go on for as long as they can, if the Rolling Stones can do it why not Adam Larry Bono & Edge ..... Larry seems to get better with age anyway as do thet all, accept Larry is suffering with parts falling off as he suggests due to a lifetime of banging a drum but I pray for maybe another couple if decades atleast because the producing & live deliverance of music is of such high quality & going to a U2 gig is just life changing, I know this from a few times over 🙏❤️....... God bless you U2 ❤

I think the 1st time I've heart The Edge speaking voice. Nice. I like the pseudo-falsetto, delay in following Bono's line. I also like the desert rose hidden in our desert. A scary place. Photos of you keeping close because of the rumors is good.

This concert was magnificent to say the very least. I have followed this band since 1979 my senior year in HS. Boston was one of the first radio stations that gave them a break. I'm so glad they did. It's like a religious experience with the music and lyrics. I really think they are God's band, delivering the message of hope faith and love. Great interview. Nancy, Boston, MA

I like U2, they also seem like a decent bunch of blokes, however they wouldn't be my no 1 band. Having said that though, the concert I saw at Mt Smart Auckland around 2006 was and still is the best show I have ever seen.

Bono should never be embarrassed for writing and singing Iris. A beautiful song for his mother just like Tomorrow was for Iris too, and Kite and Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own for Bob. I'd love to put those feelings into words like that.
I don't understand the hatred from some towards these guys, I've only seen them once during their 360 tour, and let me tell you all it was AMAZING, I can't wait to see them again 😤

This was very well produced. Great down to Earth interview that really captured the essence of the band. Really looking forward to the New 2017 Joshua Tree 30th Anniversary Tour. Sometimes you have to go back - and make it all up again.

So long as I am alive U2 will be THE ONE. , im not sorry, the band is not a circus. I will write what I and my family experienced in NI and Free State. This band is the the best in the world. and simple minds comes next. I will devote the rest of the time of my life to them, no one can match them. Our birthday is the same, my brother looks like him, and He and They have inspired me and helped meself and my family cope with what has occurred. Of course I admire many others and since I do not have much time left on this earth, for better or worse, I devote the rest of my life to their honesty, talent, love, and hopefully what I write for them and all committed to their outstanding, no only performance, yet the conveyance of what is sung, written and safely conveyed to the world. I KNOW BONO CAN PLAY AGAN> My mum had same trouble and he will recover, He needs ta right docs. IF not His voice, his writing, his lyric will live on. And every single fan in the world will support them. Keep on, brother, for you are a twin of my brother. Its ethereal. . I love Shebeen I love the Aussies and whilst U2 is my opinion the best, many other are as well, especially those who hae played and supported them in the past. Kindly keep doing so. Marios U2 has maybe five really good songs. They haven't had a decent song in ten years. In some ways Green Day is a better group. Don't even use the word Beatles and U2 in the same sentence. It's like saying Andy Warhol and Da Vinca in the same sentence.
