Geez the track upgrade looks terrific, last time I was on this line was as a relieving fireman in the early 1980s. Back then the track was laid on steel sleepers and the straightest section of track was about 10 metres long if you were lucky. It took all day to run a gypsum train with a Y class and we only went as far as Murrayville. What a bone shaking ride that was!
Wonderful video. I'm sure that this must be a rare passenger train on this line. The footprint suggests this was a double track line at some stage. I'll have to look up the history. It's interesting that people with cameras at the road crossings wait for the one shot when the locomotive is approaching, then turn away back to their cars. I'd want to get multiple shots as the whole train goes by. Maybe that's just me! Thanks again for all your time and skill.
@@apc108 this line was always only single line and very rarely sees a passenger train these days. It attracted a lot of attention. 😀 Glad to hear you enjoyed the ride 👍 😀

At this leisurely pace, I'd love to ride on an open sided car, fitted with reclining chairs, a bar and a BBQ. 😎
