The dude who explained everything in Detail for sure had some kind of sales experience. Going into detail is a tactic. Makes people feel like you’re the professional and that you know what your talking about. Made me want to purchase from him lol
Some of the things he was saying thought weren't necessarily true. He was talking about how applying a hand wax is different then using a polishing machine. When in reality, it's literally the same thing, it's just that using a machine is much quicker. So im not sure why he resorted to thinking that a hand wax was "better"

@@scr3wblu313 North east Georgia. Prices are really low in my area. Most local detailers around here charge $125 for a full exterior, and a full interior detail with seat and carpet shampoo. But I will be be the only mobile detailer everyone else is stationary so I'm hoping I will be able to get a little more for my service.

I love your content bro I can really relate as a small time detailer myself
theirs nothing worse then answering a phone call of a potential customer and starting out the convo with "hello" a lot of these detailing companies really lack the professionalism. In the end of the day its a business and especially since detailing is such a competitive industry its crucial to stand out in any way, and that means starting out BEING professional when you go about doing business with others.

In my area we have shops that popup for a year or so. So we have change a bit too "We fit to your needs on what you would like." then some prices.

Know your worth and let your work speaker for itself! When you do learn that, that’s when all the worthy customers will call to schedule without even asking about pricing and you’ll even start attracting higher end vehicles.

good video and it's a good idea to see how others explain and do their work. I hate when customers would call in and say " it'll only take.... time".. I had one guy call and ask for a quote on a " small car".. asked the year, make and model.. " just a small car".. need the year make and model.. it was a newer Cadillac.. now I am different in that I don't do a basic list and charge extra for pet hair removal, headlight restoration, engine bay, etc.. in my eyes, what separated me from all the others in my area, is that I did it all for X amount of $$.. anyways, I give a quick rundown of what I do, inside and out.. guys responds with " it'll only take 2 hours tops"... really? I was nice and polite but told him absolutely not a chance.. full inside and out takes, on that size of vehicle, 5-6 hours easily.. told him I appreciate the opportunity to give him a quote but it's not going to work and advised him to contact another detailer. I use the line all the time that " there's a difference between a detailer and a car cleaner".. my work speaks for itself and if you want the best job possible, then you have to understand it takes time. my prices were comparable to others in the area.. full inside and out was $120 for cars and sedans, $140 for SUV's and small trucks and $200 for full size SUV's and large trucks.. I don't agree with the whole " he explained too much" .. I think that depends on your client.. some know about detailing and all the work involved so they understand the pricing.. but a lot of people don't know a thing about it so a lot of the time, they like the breakdown of what you do to their vehicles which justifies the time and price. That's just me though.. I even had people tell me I was too expensive.. didn't get mad but did offer to look over their vehicle and explain where to inspect AFTER the "cheaper " guy did it to make sure they didn't miss anything and/or do the right work... nobody else in the area would do that, but it's something I offered..

My basic is where I want a new customer at. I built it not to be a car wash. I won't move unless I'm getting 95 for basic. If I go out to wash and seal exterior with a quick vac n wipe starts at 95 to 140
My interior with the wet towel technique starts at 200 and goes up
If they request or require hwe I usually start it at 400. I'm based here in Maryland. Just stumbled across your content. I also think the guy that was giving all the detail was absolutely on point. Many people think of gas station car washes are all they need to get their car clean so they’re used to paying 10 or 15 bucks. When you start talking a couple hundred dollars, most people aren’t paying that to get their cars detailed because they truly don’t understand what’s involved with an actual detail. So for that guy to give the details that he did, which I don’t think were overboard whatsoever, but I think he clearly broke down what was going to be happening and I think it helps him justify to the average person what’s involved in an actual detail and it makes you feel better about spending money on some thing you may not be used to spending money on. So yeah, that dude crushed it.
i think there's a place for knowing when to hold back and when to be explicit about services. I definitely agree education is a great selling point

Quick questionI just started my business in phoenix AZ I'm originally from Los Angeles.. I've noticed with my last 2 customers they paid me almost double of what I was asking, I'm a 1 man show I got lupus and my health ain't the best but I'm starting out doing my neighbors cars to start I have experience but had to stack my money for supplies

In my opinion you should offer interior, exterior or both every car gets cleaned the same but also up charge if the car has heavy stains
Most doesn't understand stain removal though. Ive seen folk see water stains and charge the upcharge for no reason but just because the material is spotted. There are three stain base out and if you misjudge it one will never remove a SET STAIN, but only can just cover it.

I’m not even going to lie, I take those overflow customers. If you want a quick wash and wipe down, I got guys that’ll get that done in 30 minutes if I can’t do it. But I’m not full time with it.

And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall.The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.
Not all Detailers are created equal.. remember that some are wanna be detailers but they are car washers which it’s nothing wrong with that but not everyone that says are a detailer are a detailer.
haha.. too funny.. I agree 100% though.. I used to tell people that " everyone with a garden hose and a can of Armor All calls themselves a detailer".. which is so true, in my area at least.. I can't count how many clients I had come to me after getting other "detailers" to do their vehicles and left here blown away.. couldn't believe the difference between the jobs I did versus the other guys..

I did this for a windshield replacement and it took 5 numbers before I got a call back
I just replaced a windshield and the offers went from 150 installed to 450 plus labor and taxes. Some lady tried telling me everyone else in town gets Chinese windshields and only their company has American made windshields used in BMWs I just laughed and hung up. Car Industry is crazy people make their own prices

You shouldn’t need to call other retailers for there price. You should price at what you think your work should be. If your good then your work will show it and the clients will pay. If you continue to work with clients that are cheap your business and pay will never increase. Ever think of the hi end retailers charging $600 to $1000. They only deal with high end clients.

Damn and im charging $25 for a small car and $40 for a truck which includes outside, vacuum and wipedown. i dont know how to go about raising my prices. should i just tell them what they will go up to and if they still want the wash to contact me? im afraid of losing my customers since theyre weekly clients. im very detailed and they see that, they always leave about $15-20 tips. Any help pls
$140 a month for 1 client. Now,how many clients a week do you have? Calculate that and come up with your monthly income
If you want to charge more, do good work, don't do cheap packages, no wipe downs and quick jobs, no money to be made. Set up a base interior and base exterior detail and have add ons.

It's really hit or miss with going into detail on services. Very rarely someone has the time or patience for in depth explanation... especially these days. Most are In a rush and just want prices and move on with their day.
